led out in handcuffs and avoiding questions, we are getting our first look at the man just charged in the murder of a queens imam and his friend over the weekend. good evening, i'm alice gaynor. >> and i'm dick brennan. we are live at the scene were police just took the vic them does the victim from police. >> reporter: the motivation behind the crime that he is accused of is still unknown. 35-year-old oscar morrell was walked out of the 107th precinct, charged with two counts of second-degree murder. surveillance video captured the

the intersection at pitkin and pine street and clipped a man on a bicycle. the accident happened less than a mile from where imam and his first friend, assistant thara uddin, were murdered, shot in the head in broad daylight. it happened at 1:50 saturday afternoon. police say the crash happened just a few minutes later, the car matches the description of the onesie near the shooting. and they were identical. we looked at stickers and decals on each of the windshields and they were identical. >> reporter: police say the man on the bicycle was able to give them a partial license plate number. police tracked the car down and were surveilling oscar morrell when he ran into an unmarked squad car saturday night. he was taken into custody, his home search. police say a gun and clothing matching the suspects was found

new information on last night's security scare at kennedy airport. apparently the whole thing was set off by people watching the olympics. sources tell cbs 2 surveillance video shows the crowd being extremely disruptive. that set off a chain reaction with people believing there was gunfire when there wasn't. the chaos forced police to evacuate two terminals. new tonight, a warning for any would be renters. scammers are advertising vacant properties online, taking deposits and in some cases, in 2's lou young has the store. >> reporter: the would be renter asking not to be identified is talking about this woman who calls herself myrna and took deposits from multiple people for the same apartment which wasn't hers to rent in the first place. at issue is the ground floor of this home in linden, new jersey. advertised on craigslist. >> we know who the owner is, the place is not for rent, contrary to what is advertised

everyone agrees. cbs 2's tracy carrasco has more on the controversy at 11. >> reporter: among the tributes to those who served our country outside veteran memorial library in new jersey is a silhouette of a soldier kneeling at a cross. and now the center of a controversy among residents, including gregory story. >> it's a very touching memorial but the problem is, there is a cross in it which singles out veterans of one religion. the memorial paid for and donated by mayor harlan -- carl surprise to the board who runs the library. >> the mayor is my boss, we listen to him. it was not put through the board of trustees. >> reporter: the memorial violates the separation of church and state and contacted the american humanist association who sent a letter to the mayor stating, this letter serves as an official

saying, humidity was lower out there, 92 was the high temp but at 102, 92 felt like 96. this was the fifth day of the heat wave in central park. what should we expect as we look ahead? a better night out there tonight, severe storms possible for tuesday, temperature may not get above 90. it's going to be close tomorrow but with humidity in the area, it's going to feel like 95 or 100 degrees, heat advisory tomorrow. we do break the heat later this week, i mean, it's really the heat index that we will break because humidity will start to ramp down. it will feel better more so by the end of the week. a few light showers in mercer accounting, nipping at monmouth county, it is all very light, they lost a lot of energy moving from west to east. there is more out there, there is instability. we'll be looking at a chance for wet weather tomorrow and some storms could be a severe site. national weather service is saying areas north and west of new york city with new york
