in shirley sunday morning and lost control of his car, crossed the median and went airborne. the impact killed the driver, his 27-year-old sister and his 10-year-old son, christopher. patricia's 3-year-old daughter was injured but survived. their car landed on top of 29- year-old scott martella and his fiancie. the crash killing martella. according to their wedding web site, they were set to be suffolk county executive released a statement honoring martella, his communications director. the hundreds of people scott has worked with over the years... governor cuomo said he was up for any challenge, deeply respected for a strong work eitheric, candor and fighting spirit. long island is a better place

and 10-year-old son christopher. patricia's 3-year-old daughter was injured, but survived. their car landed on top of 29- year-old scott martella and his fiancie, the crash killing him, she survived. according to their wedding web site, the northport high school sweethearts were set to be married in april. suffolk county executive steven villone released a statement honoring martella, his communications dto >> reporter: governor cuomo described his former aide as being up for any challenge... >> reporter: overnight, 81- year-old isidore aidleson died of his injuries. he was one of four people inside of this blue car crushed during the crash.

virus from spreading across the city will cost millions of dollars over several years. >> with hundreds of new yorkers already infact infected, reducing the mosquito population is a top priority. janelle burrell is live with more on the city's efforts. janelle? >> reporter: chris and mary, officials don't expect to find zika in mosquitos here, but they're taking every precaution, ramping up the efforts to keep the insects away. so far there have been more than 480 cases of zika in 49 of them are pregnant women, all of the people believed to have contracted the virus while traveling. this week, residents in two neighborhoods can expect to see health department trucks spraying for the mosquitos known to carry zika. part of the three-year, $21 million plan to protect new yorkers from the virus. >> we will keep doing what we need to do and spending the money we need to spend, but we expect the federal government to be a partner. >> reporter: last week, the

billion in funding to fight the virus on a national level. >> this is an international health crisis, ergo the responsibility of the federal government, just like an international security threat would be the responsibility of the federal government. >> reporter: in miami, the site of two designated zika zones. today is the first day of school for nearly 8,000 students in miami dade county. the health department there handing out free bug spray and in some school districts, at airports in our region, signs like these at laguardia warning travelers. >> very, very scary. >> reporter: some admitting the virus is enough to keep them from going to miami altogether. >> i wouldn't want to be down there, you know, a native down there and i wouldn't want to be visiting down there as a tourist, either. >> reporter: spraying in brooklyn and queens starts tomorrow night and lasts until wednesday morning. the city health department started a web site which you can see at the bottom of your screen.
