chief meteorologist steve raleigh steve? light snow will begin friday morning in our very southern counties across northern kentucky. that's where we could have our first issues on the roads. snow spreads to the north during the day, coming into cincinnati mainly after noon. snow will turn widespread friday afternoon with more intense snow and this also continues into the evening rush. roads will be hazardous for the friday evening rush area wide. snow tapers off heading into saturday morning. it appears a moderate snow of a 2"-4" variety would be the case for greater cincinnati and points north of town, and a more healthy 4-6"+ snowfall is on track for northern kentucky and brown and adams counties in ohio. a winter storm watch has been issued for two counties in southwest ohio & a larger portion of northern kentucky beginning late thursday night through

our nation's capitol. not everyone is headed *to washington.many tri-state travelers spent the day trying to return home before the storm hits. hits.and some airlines are offering help to those who couldn't get out of the storm's path in time.delta will give full refunds to customers who have their flights canceled or delayed. united and american will waive *change flight fees if you have to rebook. the airlines are only doing this through the weekend and only for flights directly impacted by the storms. ohio's heroin problem has gotten so bad that hundreds of first responders gathered in columbus today to share ideas epidemic. they gathered at a columbus church talking about staggering statistics like this: three or four ohioans are dying every day from heroin or opiate overoses. ohio attorney general mike dewine is pushing for more agencies to carry narcan to save lives. other speakers talked of the need to detox jails where half the inmates have heroin-related issues. and, they heard they have to

overdoses as crime scenes. found dead in december of 20-14 at a water works plant on lick road in fairfield. hawkins has been in the butler county jail ever since. the duo accused of beating 2-year-old kinsley kinner to death were both back in butler county court today. today.kinsley's mother rebecca and her boyfriend bradley young attended their pre-trial hearings side by side.but the judge ruled in the future each of them will be tried seperately.rebecca faces charges for permitting child abuse.her final motion hearing is set for march 17th followed by the jury trial scheduled april 4th. young is charged with the murder of kinsley and will return to court on march 24th.his jury trail is set for april 25th.among all the court proceedings kinsley's father says the community support hasn't stopped. jury sing she wants justice to be served. miami township's former finance director admitted to sexual contact with children today. harry steger pleaded guilty ot one count of gross sexual imposition and one count of attempted gross sexual imposition.he changed his plea after judge keith spaeth decided he would allow statements steger made to detectives at his trial.steger faces up to six and a half years in prison. a live look the brent spence bridge -- it was closed part of the morning because of a crash.things are moving for the commute home. but that is little consolation if you were caught in the mess earlier today. the area was closed for less than thirty minutes though as crews cleaned up the mess.most drivers found it hard to move until it reopened.the crash happened around 9 am.one person was hospitalized. an ohio police officer killed earlier this week will be laid to rest this weekend. the visitation for officer thomas cottrell is tomorrow in newark.

eleven saturday morning on the newark campus of the ohio state university.his body will be escorted from the funeral home to the campus with full police escort. cottrell's body was found late sunday night behind the municipal building in the village of danville -- northeast of columbus.police say he was killed by herschel jones.that man's ex-girlfriend called police, warning them jones wanted to kill officers, which prompted the search for cottrell.jones is now in custody and expected to be charged with murder. local grocery chain kroger has announced its sending bottled water to the residents of flint, michigan to help with their current water crisis. crisis.that water is contaminated with lead. today... we've learned 90- thousand cases of bottled water have been given to people living there so far... and the national guard is working with fema... which has 30 trucks in the area to meet the demand.meantime, the governor has released hundreds of e-mails... to show who knew what... when... about the problem.one of them is from his former chief of staff... who wrote last september...

have spent years trying to regulate the industry to protect young tanners.so when you think about the dangers of *tanning beds -- you probably think about cancer.but a new study suggests you should also be worried about drug and alcohol addiction too.kristen skovira spoke to researchers behind the study. can there really be another dark truth to tanning?first it's linked to cancer.. and now this... we were surprised by the association between recreational drug use and indoor tanning among high school students.researchers at c-u anschutz say they've found a direct link between indoor tanning and substance abuse...both activate addictive pathways in the brain.we were also surprised by the strength, how associated these two things were gave a behavioral health survey to more than 12-thousand high school students in colorado...and says risky behaviors seem to go hand in hand...people tend
