placing in the top ten. and we do say good tuesday morning, everybody. think about it. by this time next tuesday the results of the first presidential contest will be in. >> at least we hope so, right. >> yes. >> next monday february 1st we've got six days to go, iowa voters will gather at their caucuses. >> last night the candidates appealed to iowa voters from the same town hall stage. >> a new national poll shows hillary clinton ahead of bernie sanders by double digits with martin o'malley trailing behind but clinton could actually lose the first contest there in iowa. abc's liz kreutz reports. >> reporter: i'm race heating up and hopefuling facing voters in a cnn town hall. >> just to be clear you are

of course, portraying him as more liberal than some might believe. we move on because schools are closed for another day in washington, baltimore, as well as philadelphia as well as some suburban communities. all of this as the mid-atlantic region continues to dig out from the blizzard of 2016. >> and don't bother calling the irs headquarters for tax advice today either. all federal government offices in washington closed again. okay, air travel is still a mess after the storm with hundreds of flights canceled today already. more than 1600 flights were canceled yesterday and 2,000 others delayed. the problems in the east affect flights all across the country as planes and crews are stuck in the wrong places. >> this weekend's blizzard is being blamed for more than 40 deaths some heart attacks. all that made fighting a blaze in baltimore a nightmare. the fire trucks couldn't get close because of snow, 24 to 30 inches fell in the region and

their streets haven't been cleared yet. well, warmer temperatures today could help the cleanup but as you can seen 0 the weather radar right there, another storm, it's moving in from the midwest, but does that mean more snow in the east? abc's rob marciano takes a look. >> slightly milder air coming in before another cold shot comes in concerned about black ice then and concerned about the potential for a late week storm. at the moment there is a chance of it getting closer to the east coast but we think the likely track is well offshore. if that happens then they'll be some light snow for eastern new england. >> winter has arrived. thank you, rob. on the west coast northern california has its own natural disaster that is brewing at this hour. the residents of this apartment complex in pacifica near san francisco have been ordered to evacuate as this cliff keeps falling into the ocean. the cause, weeks of heavy storms and high surf, it's not just the apartment building that's at risk. a nearby auto shop has lost most

>> in the last week probably seven, eight feet at least, in the last 40 years, 100 feet. you either laugh or cry. that's all you can do. >> well, it's happened before here, but a recent drone video caught a large chunk of the cliff falling off meaning this apartment building is in immeant ex- a grand jury in houston was weighing charges against planned parenthood after video was circulated that seemed to show executives trading in fetal tissue. instead they indicted two of the activists on charges of tampering with government records and purchasing human organs. no other details of those were released. >> now to michigan where the governor there may soon be forced to reveal more details about his handling of the water crisis in flint. governor rick snyder's e-mails and other communications have been subpoenaed. this is all part of a class action lawsuit. it comes as a former prosecutor

investigation into the crisis. well, new details in that huge manhunt for escapees in southern california. officials in orange county say they believe the three men are still in the area because of their close ties to local vietnamese gangs and are pleading for anyone to come forward with information. last week's escape wasn't noticed for 16 hours. something the sheriff's department says is being addressed. >> let's add a new job title for the president. call him shoveler in chief. president obama cracking a joke after emerging from the white house for the first time since the blizzard. >> all this stuff. >> sure, you did, mr. president. he joked that he cleared the south lawn pointing towards the section where his helicopter lands. >> i'd love to see that video. >> yeah, of him doing it. still ahead, the average price of super bowl tickets. any guesses. >> 100 bucks. >> 50 years ago. breaking overnight a rescue at sea. a yacht sinking with passengers

well, here's a close call in the waters off south florida. 13 people had to be rescued from a sinking yacht. the coast guard says the 106-foot boat took on water 13 miles off the coast of ft. lauderdale. all passengers were able to get on board the coast guard ship that arrived to help but appears a mechanical problem may have caused the yacht to sink. all day breakfast at

a strange road rage incident caught on cam. the video shows a man wielding a baseball bat confronting the driver of a pickup truck who then grabbed a pole, the two of them go at it like ninja warriors in the middle of a street. the conflict steams to finally wind down as a photographer drives off. it's a good thing they didn't have guns or they didn't resort to the guns that they might have. >> it was definitely not a lightsaber. >> dramatic scene inside a new mexico courtroom. a man who just had been convicted of a sex crime suddenly attacked the prosecutor. court officers and others quickly responded and the prosecutor wasn't seriously hurt. the man faces more serious charges in connection with the attack. well, a terrifying close call for a sheriff's deputy in ohio. as a tractor trailer hits him and runs him over. he was directing traffic after a minor accident because of the backup. the truck had paused too close to the railroad tracks and was hit by a train. the officer is mostly all right. a couple of gashes on his head

good morning tri-state i'm kathrine nero. nero.and i'm chris riva...breaking overnight ronald reagan highway is all clear again this morning... after it had to be shut down due to a serious accident overnight.police tell us a woman lost control of her car on the exit ramp at galbraith road.she hit a pole.police shut down the highway in both directions to let an aircare helicopter land.she was taken to the hospital... police and the hospital have not released her condition. well, you're waking uip to a little bit of rain this morning.but it should be moving out by the time you start your commute.and as the rain moves out..cold moves in.
