we begin with breaking news following the shooting at madison high school.the family of suspected shooter james released a statement. statement.they say they are devastated by hancocks accused actions and are praying for the recovery of the injured students. students.the statement goes on to say quote: our family has lived in this community our entire lives and we never expected anyone to experience monday,

expect that one of our family members would be involved.you can read the entire statement at wcpo dot com. meantime -- today was the first day back to class for madison local schools.there was extra security-- extra counseling--b ut also a sense of hope as students and staff tried to get back on track 9 on your side's butler and warren county reporter jay warren is live for us this afternoon from madison township--jay?? jay?? in talking to madison local school's superintendent curtis philpot this first day back went about as well as it could have --the butler county sheriff's office had an increased presence here today and counselors were available for kids who needed to talk today an orderly dismissal as kids filed out the front of the school--a far cry from what it must have been like as kids ran out in the confusion of monday's gunfire perhaps the most difficult time today was the 8th grade lunch which is when the shooting happened--

afternoon and school officials tell us it turned out to be a very normal, traditional day here at wyoming high school. when officials at wyoming city schools caught wind of a verbal threat made by a single student-- they took action. susanna max, wyoming city schools spokesperson "multiple emails also sharing information via facebook so we're working as diligently as possible to continue the investigation and keep parents informed. police wouldn't elaborate much -only saying it was a verbal threat and it was made against a specific target, not the student body. they also say no weapons were involved. as a precaution additional police presence remained on the school campus throughout the day. a relief for one teacher who's also a concerned parent. don furlong, high school teacher & parent "i obviously feel the same way because my own daughter goes here-- we rode in together this morning and i would not have had her come here if i didn't think it was safe." the school district says the student in question was not at school today-and now faces serious disciplinary consequences. the district plans to continue classes as

we now know who the man was found shot to death in a burned out car on westwood northern boulevard last week. week.police say it is 21 year old donte whitehead.his body was found after officers were called to a fiery crash february 27th.once the fire was out, they found whitehead's body.he had been shot to death.an arrest has not been made. new at 4-- drugs are believed to have played a part in a head-on crash in harrison township this morning.

hamilton county sheriff, driver terri bates of cleves was on campbell road when she crossed the center line and hit another car head on. the driver of the second vehicle was 69 year old frances quick of harrison. both women had to be extricated from their cars. we were able to make access to one vehicle through the rear on the black durango but she was trapped up against the dash a little bit with her legs. neither one of the doors were able to be opened. we had to use power tools to gain access to her. quick was takin to mercy hospital-- no word yet on how she's doing.bates was flown to university hosptial where we're told she is in surgery right now. today marked the first day for a new support group for people who witness crimes in hamilton county. county.the program will help support and empower those witnesses to come forward.the resources will mostly be aimed at people who witness homicides and violent crimes. but it means those people will have access to therapy, relocation and transportation

volunteers are needed to keep the program going. the fourth streetcar is in cincinnati.it rolled into o-t-r today.it took a 600 mile trip from new york where it was built.this is the fourth of five streetcars that will run on a 3 mile loop around downtown, otr and the banks beginning this fall.testing for this fourth car starts tomorrow at noon. cincinnati is one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country when it comes to new corporate projects.that means more companies are relocating here or adding more job sites in the region. that's according to "site selection magazine," an industry real estate trade.it puts cincinnati 'fourth' for number of corporate projects in 20-15 behind major cities like dallas, houston, and chicago. breaking now...we are tracking the latest fallout from super tuesday. republican ben carson says he doesn't see a "path forward" for him in the race after last night's results. he says he won't be at tomorrow's republican debate. the other big development this

nominee mitt romney will be giving his take on the presidential race tomorrow. a source tells c-n-n the speech isn't an endorsement or announcement. but romney has been criticizing republican front-runner donald trump a lot recently. donald trump and hillary clinton may have won the majority of the delegates on super tuesday. but they don't have enough to get the nomination just yet. yet.9 on your side's carol williams does the math math donald trump now has more than 300 delegates. republicans need a little more than 12- hundred to win the nomination. nomination.ted cruz is his closest contender. after super tuesday he has around 2- hundred-20 delegates. he got a boost from winning texas, which had the most delegates of any state on super tuesday. marco rubio is in third with a little more than 1-hundred delegates. for the democrats... hillary clinton now has just more than one-thousand delegates. you need nearly 24-hundred to win the democratic nomination.

we're talking about the brand new list of consumer complaints put together by the f-t-c. identity theft complaints have held that spot for the last 15 years. years.but those are now now second on the list. followed by impostor scams... where scammers impersonate someone else to commit fraud. the f-t-c has been cracking down this past year on shady debt collectors who are operating illegally. it's against the law for them to harass you. if one contacts you and you don't think you owe any money -- you can send them a letter asking for verification of the debt. you can also report any problems you have with a debt collector to your state attorney general's office. ohio ranks 18th in the country for fraud and other complaints. indiana 29th and kentucky 34th. 34th.when it comes to identity theft.ohio is 12th.indiana is 41st and kentucky is 46th.
