assaulted by drivers. this lawsuit involves two different cases. one in boston back in february where driver abderahim dakiri was charged with indecent assault after allegedly took a woman off her route and attacked her. the other incident happened in south carolina with similar allegations. the lawsuit calls on uber to create full-service customer support centers. to mandate tamper-proof video cameras in cars. give customers the option of choosing a female driver. and mandate fingerprint based background checks. uber, which is currently facing a regulation debate here in massachusetts, released a statement saying the company's thoughts are with the victims in these cases. erika: thank you.

figure out what caused the fire that heavily damaged a popular brockton business. the flames broke out at the sunset cafe around seven last night. one firefighter was injured in a fall during the fire, but he's expected to be ok. local leaders, including the mayor, said the cafe had done a lot to revitalize that brockton neighborhood. right now there is new legal trouble at the trial of a teenager accused of killing his teacher. emily: a juror may have said too much. frank? >> a father from danvers could be charged with contempt after violating a judge's orders and speaking to fellow potential jurors about why he wouldn't be picked. the 16-year-old is accused of killing his math teacher in 2013. juror 39 admitted he said h e was from danvers and he said he was in danvers on that tragic

juror 39 was excused earlier partly because of his danvers connection. the defense argues all should now be dismissed. the judge will make decision after reading a transportation after what other jurors said they were told. emily: right now police are looking for a man and a woman seen leaving the scene of a stabbing on boston common. punches were thrown outside the park street t station before someone pulled out a knife and the fight turned bloody. the man received multiple stab wounds described as not life-threatening. police say the attack was not random. investigators say this fast-moving fire at an oxford lumber yard was an accident. the fire chief says wednesday night's flames started near a make-shift kiln used to dry lumber. the telegram reports that kiln was built out of an old oil tank which was not maintained and left unattended. the business owner says his son noticed the smoke and was on

aftermath. erika: this morning former crew members are raising new concerns about the cargo ship lost at sea during hurricane joaquin. they say the el faro some rooms were constantly leaking. and that the drainage didn't work on the ship. the company that operated the ship denies those claims saying the vessel was well-maintained. meanwhile, a new mission will be launched to find the ship. the u,s, navy will send special equipment in hopes of locating el faro and its data recorder. that recorder may explain what happened as the ship went under. house speaker robert deleo knew winthrop native keith griffin, who went down with that ship. >> he would be the type who would just go through a wall, you know, to get something done. my first reaction was i can just picture keith out in the ocean, you know, saying i'm going to save this one. i can do this. natives investigators believe the ship

this was during a kidnapping attempt. bridgeport police say they have identified the driver but have not found her. they have found car. the victim said the woman lured her into the car while she was on her way to school. stopped a terror attack in france is in stable condition on a california street during a fight. this surveillance video shows the wild scene in sacramento. police say spencer stone was out with friends. words were exchanged with another group of people, and things quickly got out of hand. >> there was conversation and then it continued down the block to where the stabbing occurred. erika: police are looking for at least two suspects in wednesday night's brawl. the 23-year-old stone lost a finger while stopping a gunman on a train to paris in august. emily: topping economic headlines this friday -- asian markets jumped overnight over expectations interest rates will stay at a record low here

there were gains across the board on thursday. verizon wireless is trying to pressure its longtime customers into giving up their unlimited data plans. verizon stopped offering the unlimited data to new customers four years ago, but allowed those who had them to keep them at $29.99 a month. but, next month, that price jumps to $49.99. at&t is trying something similar to get its unlimited data customers to surrender their plans as well. at&t is making wifi calling available. that means you can dial for free as long as you have an i-phone 6 or newer model. the function allows phones to automatically switch to a wifi connection for calls and texts if cellphone signals are low or unavailable. you do have to be running ios 9 for it to work. erika: act fast if you're looking to save on holiday travel this year. the orbitz holiday insider index says tickets will be cheapest today. airfare may dip again around november 6, but will peak the week before christmas. you can save the most money, up to 30% by flying on december 21,

>> good morning. this is really a wish list of sorts. it's what commuters want to see happen as part of the "go boston 2030" transportation initiative. the globe reports that residents would like to see speed limits lowered from 30 to 25 miles per hour. they hope the city will increase the number of train stations that have bus and shuttle service. and people also want see help for low income households when it comes to how much they spend on transportation. the city obtained the data by holding several events to gather feedback. more than 6,000 residents responded. among the other goals residents have: reducing the average commute time by 10% for everyone from 28.8 minutes to 25.9 minutes. city officials are gathering more feedback on the report and they plan to release a final action plan in the spring of 2016. erika: thank you. right now investigators are trying to figure out what caused this raging marina fire in quincy.

they're still waiting to raise the boat where the flames actually started. for some people, those boats were also homes. we brought this to you as breaking news yesterday morning. the fire started in a boat called the dry anchor with what witnesses describe as two big explosions. an abington woman on board barely escaped with her life. >> she came out of her bedroom and smelled and saw smoke so she yelled to my dad and at that point the smoke kept getting worse. she went to one side of the dock to the other and she was scared, afraid of what would happen so he went back and held her hand and kind of pulled her back through. emily: there were 11 boats involved in all. erika: this morning a dumpling duel is pitting one restaurant owner against a former employee. nadia liu spellman opened her weston restaurant a year ago. dumpling daughter got rave reviews. she's now suing a new millbury restaurant called dumpling girl for stealing trade secrets, unfair competition, false
