nine people were killed and nine others injured for the gunmen killed himself last week. president obama spoke out against the lack of change to gun laws despite a number of mass shootings over the past few years. erika: more trouble during jury selection at the philip chism newscenter 5' s frank holland is live in salem with the penalties some perspective jurors could be facing. frank: it is still unclear if a parent may face perjury charges for discussing the case with a potential juror. now they are discussing another potential juror accused of doing the same thing. what five jurors may have heard from another juror while all were in a jury room. a major point of contention on friday morning. the defense asking the judge to dismiss jurors 1, 5, 7, 19 and 20 because they say they heard another unidentified juror making statements that phillip chism already had a trial. the now 16-year-old is accused of killing and raping his math

teacher at danvers high school in 2013. the judge said in court, he read a transcript of what those jurors heard. but did not believe it was necessary to dismiss them. 44 of 115 potential jurors from the first two days remain. 12 of them have been ruled indifferent by the judge and have been approved by the prosecution. the defense will have their opportunity to approve or reject on tuesday. a controversy on thursday resolved when 13 potential jurors were dismissed due to their answers to a questionaire. one of them included juror 39, a danvers high parent who admitted to talking about the case with other jurors. before all proceedings friday, it was revealed chism' s mother in the hospital. the court appointed a legal rights gal, basically an attorney that will substitute for chism' s mother while she is ill. that illness was not disclosed. just before. 10:15 on friday morning about , 100 new potential jurors were brought into the courtroom. they were read jury instructions by the judge and introduced to the prosecution, the defense and

the robert ryan playground. emily: right now investigators , are trying to figure out what caused the fire that heavily damaged a popular brockton business. the flames broke out at the sunset cafe around 7:00 last night. one firefighter was injured in a fall during the fire but he' s expected to be ok. local leaders including the mayor said the cafe had done a lot to revitalize that brockton neighborhood. erika: two women are suing uber after they were allegedly sexually assaulted by drivers. the lawsuit focuses on two separate incidents, one in boston back in february where a driver is accused of taking a woman off her route and attacking her. the other incident happened in south carolina with similar allegations. the lawsuit calls on uber to create, full-service customer support centers. mandate tamper-proof video cameras in cars. give customers the option of choosing a female driver. and require fingerprint-based background checks. uber released a statement saying the company' s thoughts are with the victims in these cases. emily: congressional republicans in chaos. the house is struggling to fill house speaker john boehner' s shoes.

emily: just in from the witness at the chaos of the framingham auction house. this is inside the auction house on western avenue. a 78-year-old man was behind the wheel of a bmw when it suddenly accelerated, hit several vehicles, and in crashed into a crowd of vehicles. one person was seriously injured and fun to the hospital. several other people suffered lesser injuries. the driver was not her. erika: new at noon two people , are facing federal charges after police say a drone crashed near the white house. crashed overnight and was quickly seized by authorities. in may, the secret service stopped someone caught flying a drone in front of the white house. back in january, a drone operator mistakenly crashed a small device on white house grounds. emily: former crew members are raising new concerns about the cargo ship lost at sea during hurricane joaquin. they say the el faro had some rooms that were constantly leaking. and the drainage didn' t work on the ship. the company that operated the
