member on a cargo ship el faro opens up on the tragedy at sea. mariette white one of 34 on board. her proud but grieving mother speaks out. jim? jim: mary just got back from jacksonville, florida, where her and other relatives have been awaiting news. now is her family plans a memorial, she remembers her daughter who loved life on the open water. >> she would call me from port. this is a great cruise. i wish you were here. jim: those calls reminder of how much her daughter lived for life on the sea, but he came to a whole two weeks ago when she and 32 others were lost when the el faro went down in the atlantic. >> i had no warning. i got a call one morning saying that the el faro had gone down, and they did not expect the dna survivors.

jim: the question remained was why. >> i believed if there was any way they could' ve prevented it, they would have, but the captain chose to ship out in that tropical storm. jim: are you mad at that captain for making the decision to go out to sea? >> no. in marine time, you nkow -- you know, i have been down -- out in a dozen hurricanes. this is just a tropical storm. we can make it. jim: now she is preparing a proper sendoff for her mental daughter, a woman she describes as rebellious and unique. -- for her middle daughter. >> at 51, why don' t you ever get married and have kids? i' m married to the sea. jim: she hopes that other companies will take weather into considerations in the future.

right now it lie somewhere on the atlantic ocean floor. reid: several boats docked catch fire. two were destroyed. rhondella richardson is live tonight. do investigators know at this point what exactly happened? rhondella: not yet. we are at the little river boat yard. boat lovers had a pained look on their face as a look at the damage done so quickly. >> i saw, it looks like mist like somebody was washing a boat. rhondella: then she saw the black smoke. the fire on the dock a scary sight. the midday fire torched two boats. the owner of the bigger boat pulled it out of little river after firefighters extinguished the flames. a 31 foot hydra sport is only two years old.

the owner is asking for privacy. the other boat was hard to get to. >> we did not even see the other boat that ended up down the river into hamlets pond. it was really bad. >> it' s sad. they are all nice guys. rhondella: this comes four days after several boats went up in flames and captains cove. >> this is about as bad as it gets. once these things get going, it is hard to put them out. thondella: the proximity from where the boats caught fire to where children play is very sure. everyone relieved no one was badly hurt. reid: taking a live look outside. the boston skyline on this beautiful sunday evening. the hollywood can weather pretty much close to perfect. mike joining us now.

mike: everybody has got a smile on their face after a day like today. 68 degrees. tomorrow might be warmer. satellite -- absolutely nothing. crystal clear. it is going to stay that way. i want to show you what the temperatures are like out to the west. minneapolis is 85. sioux city at 90. the central plains. guess which way it is headed. first, we have to contend with tonight. not quite as chilly as last night but a lot of temperatures into the 40' s and 50' s out there. but tomorrow, we rebound wall-to-wall sunshine. we start warming things up. i think in the city of boston we are at 72 degrees. that is not even a warm spot. the warm spot may be in land where we climb into the mid to upper 70' s. we will talk more about that as well as a cool down later this week. i will show you how chilly it is going to get it reid: investigators in quincy still trying to determine exactly how a fake and building went up in flames overnight.

morning at the old suns of lebanon whole. the fire marshal says someone who should not have been inside the abandoned building ignited the five. the building will be turned -- torn down. weymouth police investigating a fatal crash. it happened just before midnight on middle street. the vehicle hit a utility pole. three passengers were taken to south shore hospital. an unidentified 29-year-old man did not survive. the driver, francisco gomes of boston was with motor vehicle homicide. he is being held on the $25,000 bail. and new at 6:00,. we are hearing from the man who jumped into action when a car slammed into friday 11 people were hurt when the wall inside the warehouse. newscenter 5' s frank, joining us

frank: that tow truck driver spring into action. his quick thinking may have saved someone' s life. >> it is like right out of a movie. car comes to the wall, people go everywhere. it was chaos. frank: sam -- when a man lost control at the odessa auto auction house and from him. >> i' m just panicking, i had to not know what is going on. i see the bmw. people are screaming. they thought the car was going to blow up. frank: the crash happening friday morning. he works as a tow truck driver. the many busy -- >> it is usually just mayhem. of there. to a different level. a life-and-death situation. one man pinned under the suv. >> i went, what do i do? frank: he cannot remember if he sprung into action.

reid: protesters and turkey clashing with police. officers for tissue tear gas at demonstrators railing against this weekend deadly bombing. 95 people were killed in a pair of suicide bombings that ripped through a peace rally. reporter: they came out by the thousand and turkey' s capital to remember the dead and vent their anger. chants of the murderer state will be brought to account directed at the turkish government for allowing saturday' s deadly attack to happen. today, many of the dead laid to rest. familymembers heartbroken over the explosions that tore apart a rally calling for democracy and a stop to the fighting between turkish forces and kurdish rebels. i really cried while watching the news. it is so sad, this man said. no humanity, no emotion, just brutality. we are no different from iraq and syria. it is the deadliest attack and turkey' in the latest chapter in growing violence here as the government kurdish militants and isis. in the war in syria. allowing americans jets to use strikes. was suicide bombers who carried out the attacks, saying it was kurds or isis. so far, no one has claimed

p town checking in a 57. down in the south, you may for this over the weekend, they picked out more rain in parts of carolinas. they do not need another drop. this system may give us a little bit of rain on tuesday. but before it gets here, this is what we are dealing with. lots of sunshine, clear skies. and that is why it will be such a nice evening. clear and chilly overnight tonight. lows dropping to about 42 in the coldest spots. that is not quite as cold as last night when a lot of places dropped off into the 30' s. tomorrow, sunny, warm, 72 to 78 degrees p do not get many days like that in october. it is going to be spectacular out there. the high temperatures tomorrow, burlington should be 76 degrees. you will notice how it is very warm on tuesday. there is a chance of showers. then we begin a downward trend in the temperatures. it will be much cooler as we start to talk about the end of the week. worcester tomorrow 73 degrees. i stand tuesday.

coming back in to wednesday' s forecast. tomorrow in the south shores, temperatures in the mid-70' s. the cape is going to be little bit cooler. but overall, not bad. the carolina spirit watch what it does. it starts to lift its way northward. this tries to give us rain tuesday morning. it is kind of offshore. there is another system off to the west. a cold front. that is been trying to give us some rain on tuesday afternoon. the day is not a washout but there are two opportunities for seeing rain. one in the morning in the east and one of the west as this line moves through. after that, you notice the cool air f reallylo -- realyl flowing in. tomorrow, temperatures in the 70' s. that is the spectacular day of the week. tuesday i talked about their showers. let me break it down hour-by-hour. there is that first batch, 8:00 in the morning. there is that second batch to the west. this kind of move his way through. they wait for this one to develop into the afternoon. maybe give us a few scattered showers.

once we had to the evening, it is out of here. then we start to talk about the cooler weather moving into the forecast. instead of that mild jetstream, we are talking about the cool air flwoing -- flowing in. sun and clouds on thursday. only about 60. it gets cooler. by friday, chances of showers, upper 50' s. could there be snowflakes mixed into the northwest? don' t worry. no accumulation. it is going to be very cold saturday morning. temperatures dropping down to freezing. i think frost is likely. it is ahead of the truck -- the head of the charles weekend as well. saturday. clears out for sunday. look at the high temperature. only 48 degrees. look at our low temperature tonight -- 48 degrees. what are low temperature is tonight. the changes coming. great day coming tomorrow. reid: the perfect day for the s

cincinnati was perfect. they trailed the seattle seahawks 24-7 going into the fourth quarter. this catch set up the tying field goal. and then in overtime mike nugent hits another one. cincinnati is at 4-0. they win. seattle is 2-3. brad will not play tomorrow afternoon against tampa bay. he suffered a precaution in last night' s loss to the montre al canadiens. this errant elbow caught him under the job. no protection whatsoever -- caught him under the jaw. he knows how cautious all professional teams are being with concussions. he' s out indefinitely. a lots of unhappy mets fans after tejada had his leg broken and a very questionable slide by chase utley by the dodgers.
