6:15 pm
we should be running around 63 degrees this time of year. the other big story is the rain chances are on the way up at least for tomorrow. as well as on friday. we will talk about friday a tomorrow. tomorrow's rain chance comes from this area of low pressure you can see off our coast and then this cold front back to the north and west. this will bring rain to southeastern mass to start your day. and then this will follow-up through the afternoon and also usher in much cooler air. happening right now. not much in the way of cloud cover. as you look over boston there is plentiful sunshine and temperatures are still mild. 60 degrees right now. the wind is out of the south at 13 miles an hour. it is a mild trend and as we head through the overnight hours the temperatures only drop into the 40s for the merrimack valley and 50 in worcester and 56 boston and 57 on the cape and islands. mostly cloudy skies. and then through the day
6:16 pm
tomorrow that wind is still out of the south and west. it is a bit on the breezy side. it is also going to keep temperatures in the low 70s tomorrow and even a few mid70s in the merrimack valley and upper 60s on the cape and islands. now let's time out the rain chance for you. i know even though you maybe don't want it, we really do need to have rain. here's what happens. in the morning hours there could be a couple of hit and miss showers. the best bet will be lunchtime or so south and east of boston you notice the yellows and oranges. there could be downpours near island. now once we get past lunchtime the system pulls out of here and the cold front is crossing through the afternoon. sco most of the day -- so most of the day it is actually dry. you don't start to get the showers in the forecast until mass. and then they move across the state, but notice they start to diminish or lose their energy because the air is so dry. so it is really just hit or miss through the evening
6:17 pm
commute tomorrow and then there could be a couple more as we get toward 8:00 or so, and they continue to move across the state by 11:00. we really do need the rain, but really only going to see a 10th to .20 of an inch of rain from this system and we are still at normally dry and moderate drought and down over six and a half inches in boston and five inches in worcester. so the next seven days we will welcome in clouds and sun on wednesday, but on thursday notice the temperatures really secondary cold front that comes on wednesday. high temperatures will only climb in the upper 50s and lower 60s. the winds are out of the north and west at 5 to 10. and then we watch another system coming in on friday. this one is going to give us a push of almost arctic air. it is the coolest air weekend. and we could see some frost on sunday and maybe freeze
