investigators want to know if draft kings, and other fantasy sports companies, are violating federal gambling laws. those sports websites have been under fire in recent weeks. new york' s attorney general launched an investigation after a draft kings employee won $350,000 on competing site fan duel. there' s also a class action but this is the first time the feds have gotten involved. draft kings issued a statement late last night saying quote, it is entirely predictable that the government would follow up on the misleading reports about our industry. we strongly disagree with any notion that our company has engaged in any illegal activities. but they said they were not the u.s. attorney' s office in boston would neither confirm nor deny that an investigation was

we will keep you posted. antoinette antonio, wcvb newscenter 5. emily: other stories we' re following right now. a fired southbridge teacher dodges our cameras before he faces a judge today. police say joseph zuniga sent 10 naked photos to a 17-year-old he taught at southbridge middle and high school. over the summer, a different southbridge teacher was arrested for allegedly trying to buy child sex shows online. randy: another mental health expert may be appointed today in the case of the danvers teen, accused of murdering his teacher, colleen ritzer. prosecutors say 16-year-old philip chism is faking mental health issues, as he hid behind a wall in court yesterday. he tells a psychologist he wants someone to shoot him, and is hearing voices in his head. jury selection is now on hold. emily: three people are charged in a disturbing case of animal cruelty in westport. this house littered with trash, feces and fleas. it' s being called a house of horrors as police try to figure out what went wrong.

police say 3 animals were found dead inside the home. three cats were rescued, but one of them died the next day. one of the dead animals was a dog that police initially thought was alive. >> it was the fleas over the animal. their movement was moving the hair, which made it appear that the animal was breathing, but it was dead. emily: nicole and stephen botelho are charged in the crime as is a 17-year-old. police say the couple abandoned their home after they split up. randy: five investigates uncovering what some call a barbaric practice. the eyeopener' s erika tarantal joins us with the plans governor it. erika? erika: the baker administration is planning to file a bill today as part of a larger fight against the opioid crisis. the measure would eventually bar not been charged with a crime. 5 investigates' found more than a thousand women have been sent to prison in the t
