emily: good morning, it' s friday, october 16. i' m emily riemer. randy: i' m randy price. breaking news on the eye right now. a teenager seriously hurt after a dangerous fall in boston. the details we' re learning overnight. emily: new information in the murder of new hampshire woman found dead inside a hidden space in her apartment. the cause of death finally revealed. randy: a critical clue in a string of rapes. the man police are now trying to track down. emily: dramatic images out of california right now. severe thunderstorms pounded a remote area just north of los angeles. randy: that part of the drought-stricken state is experiencing severe flooding this morning. part of the terrain was already scorched by wild fires. so no vegetation to slow and absorb the water.

roof deck in the mission hill neighborhood of boston. he is believed to be 18 years old. he fell off a 3rd floor deck at this apartment. boston ems tell newscenter5 there were several people at the hillside avenue apartment at the time. they say the teen suffered serious internal injuries, after trying to brace himself with his arms. he was taken to brigham and women' s hospital. his condition is unclear at this hour. we' ll bring you more as we get it. randy: police in brockton are getting the word out, hoping this composite sketch will lead them to solve a series of rapes. there have been several attacks in the city by someone looking like this, some dating back to 2013. newscenter5' s frank holland is in brockton right now with the investigation. frank: that man is not being called a suspect, but police say he could be key to getting justice for the victims. man' s name, but they say he has been spotted in brockton, and could also have ties to easton. the mayor thinks that man could be linked to several crimes in the area. he also says state police are

leading the investigation, focusing on rapes in 2013 and 2014. >> i am extremely concerned. we will assist in that search in any way we can. frank: police are asking anyone with information on the man in that composite sketch should call police. live in brockton, frank holland, wcvb nc5. emily: new details, uncovered in the death of a new hampshire woman, found stuffed in a crawl space inside her home. the cause of death now determined. the eye' s erika tarantal joins us with the new clues in the case. erika? erika: that' s right, an autopsy just revealing sue hutchinson was murdered strangled to death. , hutchinson had been missing since september 20. a foul odor, noticed by family this past weekend, led police to re-search her home for a 3rd time sunday night. they found her body hidden in that crawl space behind a false wall in a closet. just over two weeks after she and stephen andrade, her daughter' s former boyfriend who

was living with her, went missing andrade was found dead , of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a motel in tewskbury. authorities say statements he made before he killed himself indicated he killed hutchinson, hid her body, then fled. the attorney general adds cases where the suspect is dead are always difficult so they' re still asking anyone with information to come forward. they are expecting to release more information about what happened once the investigation is complete. randy: other stories we' re following right now, boston-based draft-kings is being shut down in nevada. state regulators there say it' s illegal to operate a fantasy site without a gambling license. draftkings and fanduel both argue their sites are not gambling because you can win using skill not chance. , a racketeering lawsuit was filed against the sites in louisiana earlier this week. a westwood woman is missing in new hampshire' s white mountains. investigators are searching by air and ground for claire marie cocuzzo.

t show up for work days after her hike from the wednesday. mount garfield trailhead to bond cliff was supposed to end. investigators found her car at the trailhead but no sign of her. emily: firefighters are investigating the cause of this fire at a historic building in groton. police tell newscenter5 five other towns responded just before 8:00 last night to help put out the fire on prescott street. the building involved is part of a baptist camp a 275-year-old , dormitory. was injured. firefighters were still on scene early this morning, putting out hotspots. randy: it is 4:36, a scam artist is now held on high bail, held on $250,000 bail, charged with swindling investors and his landlord. these six different faces are all the same man.

the state' s medical society is worried about some of the restrictions which include limiting opioids prescribed to first-time patients or patients seeing a new doctor to just a 72 hour supply. doctors also take issue with medical professionals holding patients for 72 hours if they are deemed a danger to themselves and others. public health leaders estimate there have been more than 1200 overdose deaths in the state in 2014 alone. emily: a rescue on the ice in arlington. an off-duty police officer rushing to save a friend who collapsed during a pickup hockey game. the over 40 team played here wednesday, at the rink in arlington. that' s when a 76-year-old player collapsed on the ice. off-duty police officer mike hogan, who was also playing, rushed into action, starting chest compressions, and using a defibrilator. that action saving the life of his close friend who he jokes also happens to be a good right winger. >> i needed him to get back out

randy: fall is well underway, but local lawmakers are taking issue with the shark surge on cape cod. a selectman in orleans says cape towns are not doing enough to protect swimmers. he' s proposing increased shark research, and the establishment of a full-time, regional nonprofit group, solely focuses on beach safety. emily: i don' t know that a lot of people would be in the water. danielle: with temperatures taking a nose dive, i don' t think lb decays. the reason temperatures are dropping is because we are getting rain associated with the cold front. we could have a couple of

tonight as temperatures drop into the 30' s and worcester county, merrimack valley, holding in the 40' s in boston. look at tomorrow. these are the high temperatures. only warming into the mid-50' s and even upper 40' s in worcester county. it is all because of the secondary cold front. a disturbance pushes through northern england. this could trigger a couple of afternoon showers -- northern new england. it' ll bring in this cold air mass into sunday morning. look at sunday morning flows. they are very chilly. temperatures s and boston. in any area under the growing season will get a hard freeze season. monday. we climb back up by mid week in. tunnel. emily: we will take it.

olessa: checking out the rest of your trip, the overnight roadwork is out there. it will be out of your way if you are traveling around 93 south, construction in place. there is also roadwork in place on thurgood on the expressway. i-93 both direction that route 130, then route 128 i the great plains. construction clearing on the entrance to the pike from 128, also some roadwork on both sections of the pike. so far, we are expecting trains and buses to start on schedule. emily: on the health alert this morning, the battle against breast cancer has a new ally. the u.s. department of defense. the federal agency announcing, it is giving $10 million to two boston hospitals for a study into aspirin. researchers have had the familiar pill on their radar ever since a 2010 study suggested women with breast cancer who take aspirin actually live longer. now, doctors at brigham & women' s and the dana-farber cancer institute will use funding to recruit 3,000 women

with stage 2 or 3 breast cancer for a nationwide study. they want to know if aspirin prevents the disease from recurring in other parts of the body. >> if it isn' t useful in preventing recurrence, we need to know that. if it is useful, we desperately need to know. >> if it really works as well as we think it might, it would be available on every corner of the earth. emily: aspirin is not only widely available, it' s cheap. a year' s supply costs just six dollars. but doctors caution, do not start taking aspirin until researchers collect and evaluate the results. though side effects are generally minor, they could be major for some people. randy: topping economic headlines this morning, the world' s biggest airline is switching up its reservation system and that could mean big , delays. american airlines has slowly been transitioning u.s. airways into its system. the prepping has been going on for nearly 2 years to make sure the acquisition goes as smoothly

looking at local live radar, temperature started 50' s, 40' s, the only exception is norwood at 87. a couple of showers in western massachusetts area we can' t rule out a shower for the morning hours, especially north of routes to two. we will see more sunshine in the later half of the day which will allow temperatures to warm into the low 60' s in boston, mid 60' s on the north shore. upper 50' s and worcester county. this cold front comes through, then, tomorrow morning , another shot of cold air comes through with a little disturbance. notice the snow in northern new england. they could see their first accumulating snow. we' re not talking about much, just a trace. then the wind picks up out of the north and west and you will feel it. it turns very windy late in the day tomorrow and sunday. it is the coldest air mass all season arriving. what are we talking about in
