girlfriend is back in court. catherine greig pled not guilty today. heather:they are trying to see if anyone else helped the mobster hide. reporter: the government says it is trying to track down anyone who may have helped bulger during all those years, and investigators believe the ex-girlfriend knows who and how much. the california color long faded catherine greig looks thinner than previous appearances. her twin sister is in court again. catherine smiling and waiving at the start of the hearing. >> many, many people realize this constitutes a bit of reporter: the government refuses to say if he had help the run. posing as a retired couple, a couple with an $800,000 cash stash hidden in the walls. >> adding time to the sentence she is serving and she will be

look at worcester at 24 and boston 31 and 16 in orange. the coldest in boston since april 2nd. you're right, heather, just in the 40s now in spite of full sun. however, there are changes coming. it will be a chilly night, but it is not going to drop down to freezing or below. some of the out lying areas will be in the 30s, but that's an improvement from this morning. however, the big change comes tomorrow. there will be clouds around and breaking in the afternoon. look at the temperatures sore all the way into the 60s. it will feel nice after this chill. heather:harvey, take a look at this. check this out. nearly 10 inches of snow piled up on mount washington the last couple days. according to the mount washington observatory the temps fell into the single digits and they add with the wind chill it felt like 30 degree bees low zero -- degrees below zero. phil: the woman behind the

amber alert was in court. she said it was all a misunderstanding. reporter: it ended here at boston children's where the mother who triggered it say he is doing fine. his mother was released from bail, not but night out of the clear. she breathed a huge sigh of relief. her family let out an applause. it was a drastic reduction from a quarter million dollars the prosecution requested. >> i think that that was a good idea to bring the baby to boston hospital. i think she did the right thing. reporter: she was arrested early saturday morning after triggering an amber alert. she left the health clinic with her severely dehydrated two and a half old son opting to drive to boston children's hospital rather than treatment at a hospital in pennsylvania.

assaulted her early sunday morning. the alleged victim did not recognize the suspect, but he had to have a student id or friend with an id to get inside that building. bu police are are checking surveillance video for possible clues. heather:pheasant hunting where one man shot another in the head over the weekend. it happened as fish and game officials released thousands of pheasants for this season's hunting. they flocked to the stocking area for an early shot and it does present potential danger. >> a lot of folks who know the stocking schedules and are showing up at our stocking sites and really shooting at birds sort of immediately upon release. >> the injured hunter wasn't seriously hurt. the state has restricted the hours that hunters can go to these pheasant stocking sites. phil: the patriots are getting

involved in de dplait gate. in deflategate. there are a lot of words we can use here, but unbelievable is a good one. now, what in the world were they thinking? this was a play that -- i mean everybody is shaking their heads. >> it is called the swinging gate. the only way it works is the element of surprise. you have to snap it quick looy. you see them running around? you snap it right there. the colts are known as what is called a gadget team. they tried an on sidekick and the patriots were prepared. you have to have everybody up on the line of scrimmage and they didn't. assume they did. the end person, this person here and the center are eligible receivers. the center in essence could have gone out and caught a pass. the mistake the colts made, they should be in the shotgun because the pay true jets sniffed it out and when it doesn't happen you take a delay of game penalty or call a time-out.

in prison and deportation. she will be sentenced if february. phil: the price of gas if you haven't noticed in massachusetts is down another 2 cents in the past week. triple-a northeast reports a gallon of self-serve regular gallon. that's a dime less than last month and 17 cents below the national average. we want you to look at the southeast expressway. it is picking up in volume. let's look at the maps and we will look for the red and that's where the delays are. north is a little more, 32 minutes from the upper deck to route 128. out west, looks okay. 13 minutes from i-93 to newton corner. 128 looks like it is slowing down southbound. once you get to 495 the stretch between the mass pike and 290 looks okay in both directions. that's a look at first alert traffic.

is a two-story brick building. it is abandoned. as you can see there is a partial roof collapse. part of the roof has come down and people are ordered to stay at least 20 feet from the building. you can see the hole in the top of the building. again this is amory street and jamaica plane. boston fire is on the scene telling people to stay away from the building. sky 5 is over it and we will keep an eye on it for you. heather:an intense fire ignited in the basement of a deli and quickly spread. the fire burned at least three stores. it caused an apartment building to collapse. the good news is everyone made it out safely. >> police are zeroing in on a man at a zombicon in florida. they are focusing on a man in his late teens or early 20s. one person was killed and five injured. some of those who attended say

if you feel it is a little early for you and you are not ready for this cold which here in boston it was 31. the average date of the first freezing temperature was november 8th. the earliest was october 10th of 1979. i have to tell you an interesting story, it almost snowed. they pick had up several inches of snow on october 10th of 1979. those were their biggest snowfalls of the winter season of 79 and 80. that's right, early october snows will lead to a reverse kind of winter. obviously not always. let's get back to the cold for a moment. it was chelly. now -- it was chilly and the overnights won't be as cold. for the early tomorrow in boston and maybe even in the low 40s. 50 for an early morning low on wednesday and thursday as well. you can see the trend is going

it being less cold over the next couple. it is still mighty clear. 47 degrees. low dew point which means the air is dry. wind direction, west, southwest. hasn't helped us out much today, but it signifies a temperature moderation coming up tomorrow. most of us unable to get out of the 40s in hartford. with the wind around in the southwest, it won't be quite as cold tonight as last night. boston will be far above the freezing mark. there will be lines in the 20s and 30s, but look at tomorrow and look at the difference. temperatures bounce back into the 60s with the help of a southwest wind. even if there is not that much sunshine, and there should be some for the midday and afternoon hours, the jet stream will do a flip around

milder air to move in our direction. how this week will play out is interesting. we too do -- we do have clouds off to the north. they will be sinking late tonight and early tomorrow. a couple of sprinkles are possible, but that's probably for northern new england only. i want to show you what we are talking about. see the clouds will be in, but then they break apart. at least to some extent and that will help to get the temperatures up there pretty mild tomorrow. we don't get as cold as we were this morning, but we turn chillier. thursday we will warm up again. friday a chillier air mass comes in and lasts to saturday morning. and then back to chillier weather again on monday. the one thing we won't see is a whole lot of rain. i can't rule out a few sprepg
