a while that -- until they get it out of here. you can see the blue remains there alongside that suv. that is the truck in which two people inside the car were killed. they are not releasing any more about them at this point except to say that two people in the smaller car were killed. the suv was a third car involved as a car was pushed into it. we do not believe the person in that car was seriously injured. who messed up coming around the turn, we don' t know at this point. neighbors tell us that accident had happened in the past. there is an investigation. residents say that this crash sounded like thunder. >> i walked up to see what was going on and did there was a baby to be cap on the ground. -- abb cup on the ground. it was just awful. jack: it is a terrible accident,

and everyone who has seen it has obviously been upset. they are in the process of trying to investigate exactly what happened. they believe there were three people in the two cars, at least two who were in the smaller car. and according to state police now, confirmed to have been killed in this horrible crash. we will have more later on as they continue their investigation. emily: right now, this woman is waiting to face a judge accused of killing her uncle. family members left in disbelief, newscenter 5' s sera congi is live outside the courthouse in west roxbury where she just spoke with victim' s wife. sera? sera: the suspect, even on the list, is set to be arraigned within the hour for allegedly killing her uncle, his wife, and his family. this family is in shock, saying the two were very close. tears and hugs and disbelief. >> this is an both -- unreal.

everything was fine and -- just two weeks ago that yvonne lewis was at their home and every thing was fine and everyone was happy. erika: right now, the malden catholic community is mourning the death of a senior at the school. 17-year-old alex vitale of peabody was killed last night when his car crashed into a utility pole at forest and summit streets. when police arrived, they found vitale trapped inside. he died at lahey hospital. emily: police are searching for a driver who hit and killed a man in saugus. it happened on route one just after eleven last night. witnesses say the man was hit by a mercedes but the description of the car was vague. no other details have been released. weather. it will not always be quiet. emily: still at this hour, only in the 40' s and 50' s through the area and that is where we will stay through the afternoon.

one of the reasons wise we have a pretty persistent wind out of the north and west and that is moving our temperatures down. 54 degrees in boston and 50 degrees in nantucket and we started out close to that, so not warming up that much. notice temperatures will warm up in boston and toward midnight dropping off into the 40' s and 50' s. we will be in for a chilly evening tonight. 40 to 56 is the high temperature, but as you look at the satellite and radar, not much is going on. a couple of clouds just to the south of nantucket, and other than that we are looking at sunshine and you can thank the high pressure for -- for that. a lot of rain associated with this one, the remnants of hurricane patricia and all of this is headed in our direction. through the next couple of days, dry today and dry tomorrow, but then the rain chances really

ramp up on wednesday. emily: new at noon. a bridgewater state student is expected to face a judge today, charged with sexually assaulting another student last week. campus police arrested musa sandi on saturday in connection with the alleged assault. they say sandi and the victim know each other. sandi was arrested again on sunday and charged with witness intimidation. he' s being held at the plymouth county house of correction. erika: a dorchester man will face a judge today for charges that he attacked a woman in the fenway. police say wayne barber tackled the victim early sunday morning in an alley off park drive. he allegedly threatened to kill her with a knife. the victim was slashed, but was able to get away. police arrested barber nearby. three men are expected in court today charged in a burlington meth lab bust at a local hotel. this is what police found inside. employees at the sonesta e.s. suites reported a strange smell coming from a room and said the person inside was wearing a gas mask.

erika: new at noon, we now know a gas explosion destroyed a taunton home. replace her hot water heater when an accident happen with the gas shut off without. without the gas shutoff valve on the hot water heater, gas poured into the basement and any number of things could have ignited it. the boom was so powerful it shook nearby neighbors. >> i heard my whole house shake. >> it was horrifying. erika: the homeowner was able to escape without injury, but the home is a total loss. it is always important to have an expert repair major home appliances. erika: governor baker ordered a review after a toddler was identified last month.

from the remnants of patricia, a lot of heavy rain is associated and it is headed in our direction. high-pressure is dominating our weather, though, which is giving us sunshine. anywhere from an inch to two inches in some places is coming, and that could cost haunting on the roads. we really welcome the rain because it is under a drought. we really are going to welcome that rain in. with the rain and the storm system, temperatures will actually moderate up. by wednesday, 60 degrees. by thursday, 66 degrees. and we will get milder air moving in. we could also get some thunderstorms. we will talk about that in just a second.

the rain is still well to the south and east. but by wednesday at 10:00 p.m., -- by wednesday at 10:00, showers are indicating the rain could get here as early as late morning. by lunchtime into the evening commute, heavy rain is ongoing. also gusty wind associated with this warm front, and milder conditions. heavy rain, very high in terms of storm impact, and gusty winds also. there could be minor flooding with this one. the good thing is, once we get through this as we had toured, let' s say, friday -- or excuse me, thursday first. you know there is a patriots game at home and buy kickoff at 8:30 p.m., it will be mostly cloudy and temperatures in the upper 50' s.
