the so-called bonnie and clyde were arrd in pennsylvania. phil: joseph and jenni carrier were arrested after allegedly robbing a ban in del -- bank in delaware. they are accused in massachusetts, florida and maryland as well. jc: route 20 in oxford is still closed more than eight hours after this deadly crash involving two cars and a cement truck. a mother is now dead. phil: her eight-month-old baby is in critical condition. jack harper is live at a scene that is known for accidents. reporter: it is, ed. they are in the process of getting the huge truck out of here. it took them hours to get it upright and now they have to get it out of here. this truck if you can imagine head on colliding with a chevy cavalier. now we understand from the state police the woman killed is the mother of the two children inside.

is not a total surprise. >> it sounded like dynamite. >> state police say it was head on a loaded cement truck and a car. it is on a route 20 curve where residents have grown to expect bad crashes. >> i don't know what they are going to do about it. >> the crash pushed the car into an suv injuring two additional people. but the fatality was in the first car. support. a third seriously hurt. i know a woman and two children were in that vehicle. >> i walked up to see what was going on and there is a baby's cup on the ground and the car is covered over in sheets and it is awful. >> there is that car up there. >> investigators are still analyzing the crash to determine who veered over the center divider. witnesses say the truck driver appeared extremely distraught. >> i have seen a truck driver

crying saying i killed somebody. reporter: as of a few minutes ago the state police are eliminating their preliminary investigation saying the woman in the car crossed the line into the path of the cement truck. again she is 31 years old and her name is not being released. her 8-month-old baby is unfortunately on life support at this point and the 2-year-old baby also in the car is in serious condition. other injuries here are not that bad. in oxford, jack harper, wcvb newscenter 5. >> more breaking news. police are now saying they found the car they were looking for in connection with the deadly hit and run. they are in the process of getting search warrants so they can examine it. so far there have been no arrests. police believe he was standing at a hotel on route one and walking along the highway when hue was hit. >> a bizarre scene as a murder

>> you're watching newscenter 5 at 5:00. jc: nearly 200 people are dead after a powerful earthquake in afghanistan. it had a magnitude of 7.5. most of the victims were in pakistan where the death toll stands at 147. 33 people killed in afghanistan. the earthquake didn't do much structural damage because the epicenter was so deep. phil: we have new information on the deadly airstrike on the doctors without border hospital. the associated press reports that the army green berets will request the attack in october. they few it was a hospital and they believe it was under taliban control. 30 people were killed in the attack. >> the dramatic rescue of a toddler caught off the coast of turkey. the fisherman grabbed the boy and sprung into action getting water out of his lungs and stomach suffering from hypothermia they wrapped him in a blanket to keep him warm arrives.

it looks polic -- pleasant for the trick-or-treaters. we had 20s around and by late morning and afternoon it felt nice out there especially with the sunshine and the winds calming down. there is boston almost perfectly clear ought there. our temperature is 49 and it is a wee bit cooler. it is east at seven miles per hour. where the wind is not off the water it is in the 50s. the air is quite dry and as you can see the temperatures mostly in the 50s with a few upper 40s along the shoreline, keep this in mind. the skies are cleared and the wind is light and the air is dry. the heat of the day goes right on out to space and it allows the temperatures to free fall to some extent. similar areas to this past morning is below freezing. even though the readings are being shown to be not that cold on the cape there will be

pockets that will be cold enough on the cape tonight. and tomorrow the temperatures do bounce back into the 50s. probably a few degrees milder tomorrow afternoon than it was today. a good deal of sunshine. that will be the beginning of the change. tomorrow night it won't be as cool and then wednesday as the clouds gather and the breeze picks up, it moves up to the 50s to near 60. what will be interesting is when we get that weather, we will have gusty to strong southerly winds and it will bring mild tropical air up. the temperatures may rise into the low 60s overnight on wednesday night to start the day out on thursday. this is the moisture that we are talking about. the remanence of patricia moving first to the north and then to the northeast. we can see we have enough room for clear skies for tomorrow. huer is a look at the clear skies overnight and for tomorrow. a lot of sun. notice at the end of the day,

move in from the southwest. those clouds will thicken, but for wednesday morning's commute even though it is mostly cloudy the rain will be well off to the south and west of us. we don't have a wet commute, but it could be for the wednesday evening commute. now how much rain could we get in the overnight period wednesday night into thursday? there is potential for one to two inches or more of rain. the healthiest rainfall we have seen here in quite awhile. there is your look at tomorrow. a nice day after that cold start and then wednesday -- let's give you the rest of the time line or at least getting into the heavier periods of rain. they will start to come in later on wednesday and especially wednesday night. there will be elements of heavy rain. one to two inches or more possible with gusty to strong winds. there may even be some coastal flooding at high tide. and then there is only a left over shower or two and it is quite mild. a little cooler on friday and fairly mild during the day.
