analysis from our political team on "america this morning" as well as, of course, on "good morning america." now to another top headline this morning. the effort to recover a military surveillance blimp that floated away and was out of control for hours. >> yeah, it was floating above aberdeen, the proving ground there in maryland when its tether broke. the blimp then drifted all the way to moreland township, pennsylvania. abc's linsey davis with the details. >> reporter: for hours a mystery. just where was the $175 million military blimp? >> it knocked down our power at school and it knocked down all of columbia's power. >> reporter: 12:20 p.m., the blimp comes unhinged, detaching from its station at aberdeen proving ground in maryland, traveling north, 16,000 feet in the air, floating into pennsylvania. >> it's going to land right in the corn field. over a high school in bloomsburg, pennsylvania. >> oh, my god, it's going down! >> reporter: dragging a long thousand feet long, wiping out power lines along the way.

touching down, the tail fell off a quarter mile away from the massive balloon's final resting place in moreland township, pennsylvania, just after 4:00 p.m. a 150-plus mile journey from that base in maryland, sending f-16s in the air and officials on the ground scrambling. it was not far from here, in columbia county, pennsylvania, when the aerostat started to deflate on its own. and now a warning from officials for people to stay away from the balloon, even with it now back on the ground. linsey davis, abc news, columbia county, pennsylvania. a lot of questions over how that got loose. all right. lindsay, thanks. an attorney for the deputy who was fired for throwing a student across a clam says what the officer did was lawful and justified. his attorney says ben fields' professionally and he was performing his job duties legally, but in a statement school board chairman said educators and police must be held to a higher standard.

sacramento high school. the scene videotaped and posted to youtube. the principal was pushed to the ground while trying to break up the fight. he was not seriously injured and quickly got back on his feet. teens facing some serious charges. now to a consumer alert. about half a million allergy injectors are being recalled all injectors sold under the brand name auvi-q. they are recalled because had he may not deliver the right amount of life-saving medicine. they contain epinephrine needed during a severe allergic reaction. the recall follows more than two dozen complaints. there's also a recall for kids' water bottles sold at pottery barn. they feature images of avengers and darth vader. the gray paint on the metal portion of the bottles may contain too much lead. customers should return them to the store. >> kids of all ages and adults are getting excited for saturday and the trick-or-treating that comes with halloween. this is really cool.
