>> this is wcvb newscenter 5 at noon. an elementary school in lexington evacuated after people felt a large jolt. juries -- no injuries reported. erika: students were taken to a nearby high school. sera congi joins us live on the phone with the latest. reporter: parents are coming to pick up their children.

the high school is where the elementary school students were taken after the evacuation. parents i am talking with our concerned but they feel as though they are glad the school took precautions. around 9:00 a.m. the school was evacuated because of a jolt and a loud banging. it is unclear what that was from . as a precaution it was evacuated and police are checking around the area to see if anyone was doing construction. utilities are also being checked . no smoke or suspicious odors from this event. it is a mystery. kids are going to be dismissed 12:15 anyway. it is unclear if the students school tomorrow. parents expect to have an e-mail or some sort of notice later today.

emily: more breaking worcester police are . police tell the telegram a pickup truck went through a fence, hit a boulder and went airborne and slammed into a tree 10 feet off the ground at the intersection of west mountain drive and mount shire dry after the driver caused accident on several other streets. that driver was taken to an area hospital. hauled off a flight for making bomb threats. erika: the man accused phased a judge for the first time. his attorney calling this a misunderstanding? reporter: the defense attorney said the man made a poor choice of words but he did not make a bomb threat or even a joke about having a bomb. dennis campbell arraigned in east boston district court today . he was released by state police last night on $250 cash bail. state police say while on a united airlines plane yesterday,

police did not find any type of the explosive on that plane. campbell' s attorney painted this as a misunderstanding. campbell' s lawyer claims that he flight attendant made a comment to the man that she was surprised he was able to get a bag into the overhead compartment. >> he went and sat back in his seat. he apologized and said, i should not have said that. reporter: after court we try to get campbell to talk about what happened. the judge continued -- he is barred from going to logan or any other airport. he has to check in with the probation department before leaving the state. he returns to court on december 4. erika: thank you.

the massachusetts gaming commission is holding a meeting and for the first time the issue of fantasy sports is on the agenda. antoinette antonio with what the commissioner is saying now. reporter: the gaming commission' s public meeting is underway right now and later on this afternoon they will be picking up that controversial issue of fantasy sports. this is the first time the commission will be having this discussion on the legality of fantasy sports sites including draft kings. chairman stephen crosby tells us the gaming commission will look at key issues. whether fantasy sports are legal and if so, should the industry be regulated, who should regulate it and what issues regulation should address. >> we have had experience introducing a new gaming industry to massachusetts. we spent time thinking about regulations, how you deal with problem gambling, whether or not these companies should be licensed.

emily: ben carson and donald trump dominated less than in the previous debates. erika: today is the third anniversary of superstorm sandy, that monster storm slammed into the east coast destroying businesses, flooding homes leaving thousands of people homeless. since that storm, boardwalk said been rebuilt along the sea walls but there are still many rebuilding projects yet to be finished. cindy: we had a lot of rain overnight. tropical downpours. the remnants of what was hurricane patricia came through. all the widespread rain, which we needed. one to two inches or more on average. worcester coming in over two inches. millis, just over two. in natick we had close to two inches of rain. it did come with heavy downpours.

flash flooding around the fall river area. as quickly as they raced in they have gone. re watching a sick swirl to the west. cold enough to produce snow toward the great lakes. the leading edge is a frontal boundary and this has to cross our area. as it does we may see a brief passing this afternoon. right now we have a southwesterly wind still bringing in the warmth. you can see that cold air is not far away. this is the air mass we will start tapping into for the temperatures dropping tonight and tomorrow. that southwesterly wind is gusting over 20 miles per hour. nothing like the wind we had early this morning and through the overnight hours. we tap into some strong wind and it was able to gust wind to 60 miles per hour in blue hills. although the wind is slowly

wave action with the tide to produce a coastal flood advisory for this high tide happening around 1:00 this afternoon. there may be splashed over or mina coaster flooding -- or minor coastal flooding. we have the sunshine out in boston. it is 71 degrees. average high is just in the 50' s . the southwesterly wind has brought in the humidity so it feels warm and sticky outside. 73, lawrence. worcester, 67 degrees. 70 degrees in falmouth. we have a good amount of sunshine. one sprinkle coming through northern worcester county but this line toward albany is our frontal boundary that will cross . as it comes into worcester county this afternoon you may see one or two showers. notice how quickly they dissipate. through 7:00 this evening, cannot rule out a brief passing shower.
