he thought it could be a vehicle from town. reporter: they lead to the teenage suspects at home. police say they owned up to the crime, though revealed no clear motive for their halloween vandalism. >> and they were released and they are charged with destruction of property and tagging a property. live outside the district court, john atwater, wcvb newschannel 5. >> the wreckage of the cargo ship found. heather:and they are describing it deep in the waters off the bahamas. three crew members had ties to massachusetts. phil joins us with more on that. phil? reporter: sonar indicated that the ship landed upright. it could help recover the ship's data recorder known as the black box. they sent high-tech sonar equipment underwater to inspect the ship. it was headed puerto rico.

to avoid hurricane joaquin and the vessel lost power stranding the crew in the category 4 storm. three crew members were on board that ship. they were part of a 33-man crew all of them lost at sea. ed: and someone gave two trick-or-treaters poisonous toilet tank cleaners in assisted of candy. two children who are 6 and 14 did not eat the blue disks wrapped in white wrapping. they were discovered by each of the parents of the two children. the two children were not related and trick-or-treating separately. the parents who took their kids trick-or-treating there should check to make sure the toilet tank cleaner is not in their can tee. heather:police are looking for the suspect who stabbed an everett high football player. the victim was reportedly

trying to help someone when he was hurt. rhondella richardson is live in everett. reporter: the quarterback was stabbed with a big knife. at mass general he underwent surgery to repair a tendon in his thumb. everett football players are practicing in a bit of shock after their star quarterback was stabbed in the chest and the happened hours after saturday's huge -- chest and the hand hours after saturday's huge attack. >> to hear that it was upsetting and was shocking to hear about the the violent incident that took place. reporter: he was walking on broadway with other players and a friend from malden. the men in their 20s approached and threw knives at them. when he didn't get away he went to help and was uhing tayed. >> after having a great game it is halloween night there were boys on the other side of the street and words were

trouble started. >> he is out of surgery and in fair condition. classmates learning he will make a full recovery. >> everyone appreciates him and his athletic skills. reporter: the mayor's office says it is a close knit strong community and any incident that endangers the life of one of our young residents will be swiftly and vigorously pursued. >> it definitely motivated the football team for one thing. reporter: the coach after the huge win, the big upset reportedly said his quarterback was out to prove something, and it seems he has done it again bouncing back from this attack. the district attorney's office says they are in the midst of an active investigation. live in everett, rhondella richardson, wcvb, newscenter 5. ed: the fbi is involved in the disappearance of a weymouth man. he disappeared in march while snorkeling with his wife over grand caymen. his body was never found.

worked on avengers and spider-man, iron pan and x men. heather: a grieving mother is taking action and leading police to two alleged hair -- heroin dealers she says are responsible for her son's death. we go now to gloucester. reporter: gloucester went to the angel program not long ago and this is the thing they are trying to accomplish. >> the information she provided to us was the phone number. reporter: a north shore mother tipping police and leading to two alleged drug dealers. william piazza. cops say he used several other names and eugenia both caught in an undercover buy. >> we arranged a drug deal in an undercover capacity. reporter: they made the buy on the fish pier where there is one way out. they gave $500 in exchange for 12 bags of heroin. after that the suspects took off. at the end of the pier gloucester police were waiting. >> it is a good feeling when

you can put this together and you can separate the addicts from the dealers and look at them in different lights. >> we wanted the police department to be a safe haven to walk in when you are ready and we don't want to waste that moment when the addict is ready. reporter: facing a huge heroin problem gloucester's chief instituted a new approach giving addicts a chance to get help and not arrested. >> i have been doing this for 20 years. when you listen to somebody say we can't arrest our way out of this problem and that hits you after 20 years. oh yeah, you know what? maybe you are right. reporter: from the police department to the streets people seem to think this is a great idea. the goal is to help the addicts and punish the pushers. in gloucester, jack harper, wcvb newscenter 5. heather: the salem mother who attempted to kill her cancer stricken son by withholding chemotherapy wants it overturned. she is serving a prison term and today her lawyer asked the state's highest court to overturn her 2011 convictions

and battery and child endangerment. they argue prosecutors should have been required to prove labrie failed to kill her son. he died in 2009 at the age of nine. to commitment 2016 now. the harvard professor is ending his presidential campaign. he struggled to hit 1% and leaving him shut out of the primary debate. he focused on one issue, curbing the influence of big money in politics. the democratic presidential candidate is launching his first tv ad and janet wu reports that they are spending major dollars on what seems like a soft, fuzzy image isn't. >> it starts like a biographical ad. >> he is drawing contrasts between himself and hillary clinton. >> the longevity and consistency of his beloves.

heather:mayor marty walsh announcing that the credit union will sponsor the midnight fireworks at the first night celebration. it was in jeopardy with first night festivities being scaled cuts. the credit union is donating $30,000 to allow the fire work tradition to continue. ed: they are celebrating at pick a pup. they were reunitedith their owners today. the expensive pups were snatched on saturday. an anonymous tip lead them to plainville where they found them. the yellow lab and the two boxers were all in good health. police are still questioning suspects and charges are expected. meanwhile, this is new at 6:00. look at this fella. a bear that has been seen

you heard it before, move the bird feeders and ensure there is no open trash or food waste in your yard so you don't have to bear that. heather:you see wild turkeys on the road, but getting a police escort? that's unusual. a cruiser was parked outside a funeral home on plantation street on sunday night while an officer was working a detail when the turkeys refused to leave the officer gently escorted them to the nearby woods driving slowly down the street with the turkeys following. they thought he was a big turkey. happy to report they made it safely out of traffic. heather: a baby who just celebrated her one month birthday can already claim quite a feet. she took part in the 2015 boston marathon. diana duncun who lives in california is sharing this picture of baby lyla. she was born over a month ago and she is wearing the metal her mom received for finishing the race.

pregnant when she finished the race on april 20th. race organizers tell baby lyla they can't wait to see her compete at the 20 34 boston marathon. >> does this baby make me look fast? ed: a connecticut hockey player gets a phone call of a lifetime as he prepares for the fight of his life. he is bennie and facing brain surgery to fix a blood vessel and it has been causing painful headaches for months. before he left to see doctors in arizona his hockey team threw him a party. and then the phone rang. >> it was his favorite player froze. >> he said i was a really good fan and he said he is cheering for him. ed: he has the smile.

his fight has gone viral. people are tweeting their support. let me tip a hat to him. i said it a million times and i will say it again. hockey players are the greatest athletes what i have covered in terms of what they give to the world. they are so generous. heather:what a gift that washings -- that was, harvey, what a smile. harvey: we wish hill the very best. the best i think this is pretty much the best you can expect in november. temperatures are in the 60s. you know with the sunshine and the light winds it felt warmer than that. sunset is early now so with the skies clear and the air dry, it is clear to the north and west it dropped down to 45 in jaffrey. the clouds are so thin that the temperatures are falling off as well. this is only due to the fact that the skies are clear and the air is dry and the winds are light. outside of the urban area of boston it will get into the upper 30s tonight to around 40. boston dropped to the upper

57 with a southerly breeze. boston. we can't always say that, but we can say that for tonight. these are the low temperatures tonight. there will be some 30s and it will drop to 35 to 40 and boston only drops to the upper 40s. tomorrow there is room for it to be warmer than it was today. so i think there will be spots that either approach or touch 70 degrees tomorrow with a gentle southwesterly wind and then picking up to 10 to 15 miles per hour during the afternoon. high thin clouds have been around, but most are going to move off to the south. still see one other sliver. it is going that way to the east. it is not headed in our direction. the high pressure is in control and blocking that. the high will move east a little bit and that will allow the wind to turn southwest tomorrow and it will allow it to turn warmer than it was today.

which of course was so pleasant indeed of the here are the clear skies and it is with us all day tomorrow. we have full sunshine to enjoy. that's the good news. it stays clear on wednesday night and into thursday. we may start to get some cloudiness on thursday. and if we do get some clouds it will affect the temperatures slightly. if we don't it will be record warmth. the temperatures are starting to drop back and all of the readings are above average. this is on friday. this could be played out on thursday as well. cloudiness. the record high of 70. 73 for boston. right now forecasting a 66 in worcester and 70 in boston. if these temperatures are met, the record temperatures, it would not shock me in the least. it is a very mild to warm week right on through friday. mixes of sun and clouds and the temperatures get back to normal over the weekend.

maybe a spot shower on friday night otherwise a dry forecast during this entire time frame. right along the coast we will develop a sea breeze on wednesday. that's why i am talking about 59 or 60 for a high in boston. on wednesday inland areas will be in the 60s. other than that this week will feature above average november temperatures and getting back to average for the upcoming weekend. pretty nice way to start november. >> now, sports center 5 with mike lynch. that was interesting. the green bay packers getting roughed up by the broncos. the defense held to 77 yards passing and not one touchdown pass. late this afternoon the undefeated broncos added vernon davis in a deal with the 49ers. davis with 18 catches this year, but the niners are an offensively challenged team.

that could and will be a test, a major test in a run to a perfect season. >> that would be the furthest thing in anybody's mind. i could really care less about those type of things, and when you reflect back you think wow that was a great year. when you are in the middle of it, you can't do anything about a game in december. week. it sounds like a cliche, but it is not because it works. it is what our team's about. coach talks about it is a blank canvas. you start each week and you have to put the same amount of work in every week. you can't forget one detail. >> this week it is the redskins sunday at 1:00 in foxborough. he was named the player of the week, why not? four goals and assist. the bruins finished strong after losing their first three games.

base and he hit the double and it is a 2-1 game. harvey was yawninged and they went to the bull pen. he wound up on third base. he will be asking this question. why didn't david wright look the runner back to third. here comes the look and the throw home and instead of forcing a 6th game we are innings. the royals got five runs and lead it 7-2. here is strike three. there is the end of the world series and the kansas city royals who went seven games with san francisco win the world series. ned yost, you don't see many coaches running toward the ice bucket challenge. they usually run away. and here is a class see move. at 1:02 a.m., the mets, the losing teal heart broken come out on the field and salute field. this is a young team and a good mets team and you will see them back in the world series i'm sure fairly soon. great night all-around. ed: classy move.
