bridgewater. the unidentified victim was found just before midnight tuesday along railroad tracks on oak street. randy: police are still trying to figure out who was found dead inside a burned-out car in worcester. investigators spent the day chipping away at the charred ground off swan avenue, and sifting through the dirt to find clues. the medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to figure out if the person inside the car died in the fire before it started. emily: a renewed effort to solve the case of a murdered new hampshire woman. fbi agents have joined local investigators yesterday to search an area one block away from where denise robert was gunned down while walking in her neighborhood in late august. the 62-year-old newspaper employee was shot once in the head. no suspect has been identified. a reward to help solve the murder has now topped $42,000. randy: newscenter5 on the opioid crisis. there' s a new look at one cause of the deadly epidemic. the eye' s antoinette antonio is live at the state house with the new revelations.

antoinette: the concern here is the painkiller fentanyl. new data from the department of public health shows a huge spike in fatal overdoses linked to the painkiller. the data shows that over the last year, the number of people who fatally overdosed with fentanyl in their system topped 330 cases. that' s a more than 50% spike from the previous 12-month period. it' s not clear if fentanyl was the actual cause of death in those instances. the department of public health does not know how many of the total overdose deaths in the state last year are linked to fentanyl. other states do keep track of that information, and governor baker says it' s time massachusetts starts doing a the same. dph officials say they are working to overhaul their reporting system. in all there were 1200 overdose deaths statewide in 2014. antoinette antonio, wcvb,

emily: new this morning, trouble for a high-traffic boston bridge after nearly $57 million in renovations. right now, engineers are throwing up red flags on the alford street bridge, which connects everett to charlestown. that includes loose pieces in the metal grid system on the movable part of the bridge. no fender to guide ships under the bridge correctly. and defective switches that open and lower the drawbridge. that function has failed at least three times this year. including this incident, in march, when the bridge was stuck in an open position, backing up traffic for miles. randy: commitment 2016. some big names are out of the next republican debate. chris christie and mike huckabee now have been relegated to the under-card debate. they' re joined by bobby jindal and rick santorum. these are the eight candidates who will appear in the main fox business debate on tuesday. hillary clinton is coming out with strong words for her republican opponents. the eye' s erika tarantal joins us with the late-night appearance.
