low 60's before falling back into the 50's by this evening. notice we're going to keep in a lot of clouds out there today associated with the cold front that is pushing through right now. one thing that that cold front is going to do, also kick up those winds. you're going to feel them out of the north and west today at about 10-20 miles an hour. so 58 through 62 degrees for your high temperature. it's going to be a partly sunny, mostly cloudy day. we are watching more clouds building on in here. they are associated with that cold front that is stirring up those winds. not expecting much in terms of showers though today. in fact it's a dry forecast for most of us. notice as we go through the day though, there is a lot of cloud cover especially the farther south and east you go. it could be one or two showers along the coast of nantucket. but there is going to be a better chance for rain this week. we'll talk about when we can expect it just ahead. antoinette and frank. antoinette: danielle, thank you. right now a gym coach accused of sexually assaulting one of his students.

antoinette: 6:11. welcome back. colorado police say they have a student's cellphone containing several hundred nude pictures of teens. and investigators say it's the tip of the iceberg in a sexting scandal involving half the school. colorado police are trying to get search warrants in connection with the case. they're looking to identify the kids whose pictures are on that cell phone they've gotten their hands on. police are calling it a wake-up call to parents about the secret apps allowing it to happen. bret meuli, canon city high school principal: it's a photo vault. it's an app that is free. enter the right password and that's where your photo vault is. >> she said they trade nudes like trading cards. antoinette: canon city school officials say more than half of the high school's football team is involved. now the school is forcing the team to forfeit today's game. frank: an ohio bank manager and his family were held hostage for 17 hours, then forced to withdraw money from his own
6:11 am
bank. brian mcconnell tells police his wife and two children were held hostage at gunpoint from 2:00 thursday afternoon until friday morning. the suspect forced mcconnell to drive to the bank he manages and withdraw more than $100,000. the family was released after the suspect received the money. >> apologized the entire time. he said it wasn't his idea. he said that the guy would show him and come back and get my family. frank: investigators are looking at surveillance video as they hunt for clues. >> now your storm team 5 forecast with meterologist danielle vollmar. antoinette: i just can't believe that it's november 7 and we're sunrise. it? antoinette: no words. danielle: i love it. the month of november has started off on a very warm start. so we will take that. we will welcome it. yesterday 73 was the high in boston.
6:12 am
notice we're running over 11 degrees warmer for the month of november so far. that 73 actually tied the record set back in 1959. we also tied a record in worcester set back in 1978. so there is no record warmth today. however, it's still mild out there. turning colder and breezy tonight. and then we're looking for a warming trend on the way through next week. now not necessarily for tomorrow. tomorrow is going to be the cooler day of the week. so 61 for your high right now. and for today. 53 for tomorrow. and then we're back up in the upper 50's and low 60's by monday and tuesday. we should be running around 54 degrees this time of year for our high temperatures. and that's where we're running this morning. startling out in the 50's. 53 worcester. 55 in orange. 53 in providence. 58 plymouth. and 60 degrees right now in boston. today's high temperatures pretty
6:13 am
going to stay at the same temperatures, upper 50's, low 60's. one thing you're going to notice for sure is that wind out of the north and west today at about 10-20 miles an hour. the other thing is there is going to be some clouds through the day today. now tonight we start to clear out. with clearing skies and calming winds, temperatures drop into the 30's and 40's for overnight lows. so tomorrow morning we're going to be running about 20 to 30 degrees cooler than what we're running this morning. and then tomorrow high temperatures only make it into the low 50's and a few mid 50's out there. again a very breezy day for most of us. what we're watching right now is a cold front. this is crossing the region. it's turning up the winds and it's also bringing in the clouds and potentially one or two showers could be around through the afternoon hours especially, say, by the nantucket area as this area of low pressure kind of rides along the cold front.
6:14 am
west of boston. but south and east, you're hanging on to them. maybe one or two sprinkles around nantucket. then through the overnight hours, we all clear out as high pressure builds on in for your sunday. that also means if you're headed to gillette for the pats' game tomorrow, it will be sunny but you will need a jacket because temperatures will only make it into the low 50's for highs. now it's a chilly start on monday but then we rebound back into the upper 50's. we're watching a chance for a shower or two tuesday night into wednesday. but it is on thursday that we're really watching the potential for some widespread rain from this area of low pressure. afternoon and evening. it will continue through first thing friday morning so we are going to leave in showers early friday as temperatures continue to stay on the mild side. so again tomorrow is the coldest day all week long although monday morning will start out very chilly. the temperatures rebounding back

into the upper 50's and low 60's through the workweek. antoinette and frank. overall. danielle, thank you. it's 6:16. some of the other stories happening right now. the worcester man arrested for suspect in a murder. police say thomas hogan lied to them several times when when he was questioned about the woman found dead in a burned-out car. investigators have not released the name of the adult woman found inside the car wednesday night. antoinette: two louisiana police officers are under arrest for killing a child, the officers said they accidentally shot a six-year-old autistic boy after his father chris few led them on a car chase. they say they opened fire on the car tuesday when few started backing up into the officers. six-year-old jeremy mardis was shot and killed, and his father was wounded. former new york state prison worker joyce mitchell has agreed to pay nearly $80,000 to repair damage caused by a prison breakout she helped enable. mitchell admitted smuggling hacksaw blades and other tools
6:16 am
to convicted killers richard matt and david sweat. the two men broke out in june. matt was shot and killed three weeks later while sweat was captured. mitchell could spend up to seven years in jail for her part in the breakout. frank: the supreme court will hear another challenge to the president's affordable care act. some religious groups object to the requirement that they offer contraceptive care to women at no cost. the groups argue that the mandate forces them to either violate their religious beliefs or pay, quote, ruinous fines. this new challenge will be the fourth to take-on the health care law. the work day can be full of stressful situations from that big meeting to never-ending deadlines. antoinette: but calming your nerves could be just a lunch break away. the eyeopener's emily riemer stopped by one boston hospital showing staffers how. >> so we'll begin by checking in with your posture. emily: it's lunch time at mass general and on their breaks, these staffers are taking the word literally-- breaking from their routine-- >> we'll start by releasing tension.
6:17 am
emily: --using meditation to relax. and rena chudnofsky with the benson henry institute say it has major benefits beyond this session. rena: it's improving employee retention, managerial effectiveness. people are more creative. you're able to problem solve. emily: you can try it, too. first, remind yourself to breathe. rena: if you are in a business meeting, the reminder to just pause and exhale before you make a decision can be really helpful. second, know that every little bit counts. rena: every time you turn on your computer, you're going through the rebooting process, it's turning on. that could be a perfect time for you to do some breathing. emily: and lastly, if breathing isn't for you, try something else. rena: you can also elicit the relaxation response with a word or phrase or part of a prayer. maybe on the exhale you focus on letting go and you just repeat that to yourself over and over

6:29 am
this cooler air is eventually going to work its way in later tonight. for right now, let's talk about the mild temperatures. it's all in the way of a cold front that is crossing the region. it is also going to kick up those winds and bring in some cloud cover. you can see some clouds over the area. although it is a mostly clear day to start. we'll see more clouds build on in there. there might be one or two showers along the coast of nantucket later today. other than that, everybody else is dry. we just have a lot more clouds in the forecast. 50's in worcester. upper 50's right now in concord. low 60's in boston. the vineyard, nantucket. so it is a mild start. remember, our average high temperature this time of year should be in the mid 50's so we're already above that at the 6:00 hour. as we go through the day you're going to feel those winds out of the north and west kicking up due to that cold front. we will see a lot of clouds out there and highs today will warm and stay pretty much in the upper 50's and low 60's.

6:36 am
eric fehrnstrom: one of things we like about ben carson is his inspiring life story. if aspects of that story are called into question, you put at risk your popularity as a candidate. frank: right now carson and donald trump are within three points of one another, each want an outsider over a career politician. two more republican candidates ohio governor john kasich and new jersey governor chris christie both filing papers for the new hampshire primary yesterday. democrat hillary clinton is scheduled to file her papers next week. antoinette: we all have our favorite girl scout cookies. paying more when the treats go on sale next month. why troops say they have to raise prices. antoinette: adding nightlife to your morning routine. the fitness and dance movement making its mark in the boston danielle: a mild start to your weekend, but temperatures will as you might expect this time of year.
