at 5:00 inside new and innovative research to treat post-traumatic stress. tackling the problem of homelessness among matter -- among veterans. ed harding introduces us to two men that wound up in the middle of world war ii as teenagers. randy: join me tonight for a special hour-long event. the home base veterans day special will give veterans a chance to share their stories and their struggles and give you a chance to help those who have given so much for our freedom. that' s right here on channel 5 tonight at 7:00. emily: celebrations will be held around boston today. the city may not be the best place for veterans. personal finance social network wallethub ranked boston the 4th worst city in america for vets. the site compared 100 cities on topics like military skill-related jobs, and availability of v.a. facilities. boston ranked in the top 5 for most homeless veterans. last year, mayor marty walsh announced a new initiative to put an end to homelessness for vets by the end of this year. randy: a new option for veterans

who are students at northeastern university. the school will launch the center for advancement of veterans and service members today. northeastern tells "the globe" the center will offer mentorship opportunities and help in the transition back to civilian life. emily: the results are in for the first parcc tests in massachusetts. nearly half the districts in the state took the test last year. other districts took the mcas. boston performed well below the statewide average. a vote on making the test a requirement for massachusetts students will be taken next week at the state house. randy: just hours after protests around boston, a state senate committee advanced a bill that employees the minimum wage hike they have been demanding. yesterday' s protests mirrored similar demonstrations around the country all calling for a wage hikes to $15 an hour. full vaccines may network work as well if you get them every year.
