the past couple of days. look at the wind. hour. little bit. mid to upper 40's worcester through the north shore and southern new hampshire. clearing. north. we have a wind advisory up for the cape and the islands through tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. these winds are going to be gusty over the next couple of days. you can see how they ramp up this morning. sustained winds over 20 miles per hour this afternoon. we are going to be talking about gusts over 30 miles per hour. the temperature also come up into the upper 50's. the wind will make it feel colder. at least we get back a little sunshine. out to the roads today. olessa: secondary road ways are a little bit slick. route one looks good here. let's go to maps.

emwazi. he is believed to be in his 20's and speaks with a british accent. aan foley said his death would be small solace. she calls the strike a huge effort to go after this deranged man filled with hate but they can't make half that effort to save the hostages. we'll bring you any new information as soon as we get it. emily: other stories we're following now, this secret service agent is charged with preying on kids for sex while on the job at the white house. officer lee robert moore is accused of sending a nude picture of himself to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. it turned out to be an undercover delaware state police detective. moore is accused of sending explicit messages to a minor, and trying to arrange a meeting. prosecutors say he admitted to

after his arrest. randy: a new hampshire mother is one of three people, in the overdose death of her daughter. the teenager, overdosing on the powerful drug, fetanyl. it comes as the young victim's school takes action, to make sure this doesn't happen again. 17-year-old evangelique tarmey was found dead inside a rochester, new hampshire motel room three weeks ago. this morning, her mother, jazzmyn rood, her boyfriend, mark ross and leslie aberle of salisbury, are in jail. prosecutors say the trio made fetanyl available to the teenager. her school, still grieving the loss, is opening a conversation about teens, drugs, and addiction. >> we talked about additional education and training for students of all ages and how we do that and making sure that we intervene as soon as we can. randy: the boyfriend of the girl's mother is also expected in court today.

emily: a new admission from governor and it could be a turning point sports. the eyeopener's antoinette antonio is live in boston with the new developments. reporter: governor baker making it clear this morning, he believes games like draftkings and fanduel are legal in massachusetts. as you know by now, the websites have come under increasing fire, most recently from new york's attorney general who is trying to shut them down in that state. he claims the sites amount to gambling, which would be illegal. charlie baker says he played a draftkings game over the weekend and said the boston-based company should not be blocked in massachusetts. he tells boston public radio quote -- "it's a new enterprise, it's a new business, it's a new way of engaging people in these games of skill." massachusetts attorney general maura healey is still investigating the sites, but has indicated that she does not

we will keep you posted. randy: thank you. a new hampshire family is struggling to find any leads in the murder of a loved one. denise robert was gunned down as she walked through manchester's her killer still on the loose. dots with very little to go the victim's brother now tells our sister station wmur that the investigation started with questions dating all the way back to robert's high school years. >> murders essentially occur between people who know each other. they are just not random. randy: a reward fund has grown to $42,000. emily: a controversial documentary causes anger and outrage from survivors and families of those killed in the horrific station nightclub fire. 100 people died, 200 others were hurt, when the band great white used pyrotechnics at the club, sparking a massive fire.

randy: now attention to a decades old murder in maryland. emily: police are only giving the details to karen anderson. she was found in baltimore in 1976 bound and gagged found with a feed bag. it was sold in just five stores all in this state and new high-tech pollen testing has confirmed the girl came from the boston area. rare pollens are found to have come from arnold. they hope the information will prompt someone to come forward. >> call us if you think you know who she is. we are asking for the public's help. it is sometime for somebody to

randy: all right. here we are at the weekend. we're the purple people. cindy: today is pancreatic cancer awareness day. weather-wise things got interesting overnight. randy: steamy in here. cindy: temperatures have been climbing through the overnight hours. we hit our high yesterday just before midnight. it has been a shift in the wind. the wind this morning is not terribly strong. it is out of the west, southwest 15-20 miles per hour.

as we go through the day, the wind also get very, very strong. gusty winds will be with us for the next two days. into your saturday as well. they will bring in chillier air. it looks like next week we will turn mild once again. we are in the mid and upper 40's. beverley 47. worcester 46. 48 in lawrence this morning. you can see how there are a few clouds out there but a lot of breaks. so finally today after several diverse gloomy skies, we're going to get back to sunshine. westerly winds this morning bringing in drier air. lots of rained snow showers back toward the great lakes and a whole lot of wind. that is really the big story today. notice by 2:00 this afternoon, winds will be gusting over 30 miles per hour. on the cape in nantucket through tonight and into tomorrow morning, winds could gust to 40 miles per hour and that's where we have a wind advisory through

tomorrow morning. lower 50's out to the worcester hills. upper foiferts near 60 in boston. keep in mind the wind is going to be blowing all day long out of the west. 15-25 miles per hour with those higher gusts. so it is definitely going to add a blustery feel to the day. one more piece of energy is going to rotate through tonight turning our winds from the west to the northwest and that northwester by wind brings in colder air. you're going to feel it overnight. getting into the lower 30's. as that energy slide through, there will be widespread snow across parts of the mountains of northern new england and out into the perk schreyers there could be a couple of -- berkshires there could be a couple of inch s of snow. saturday sunshine all day long. look at the temperatures tomorrow. knowledge the 40's despite the sunshine.

immigration -- calling donald trump's plan for deportation unreasonable. randy: bush, not the only one taking shots at trump's immigration plan. president obama spoke to abc's george stephanopoulous, firing back at the idea. >> imagine the images on the screen flashed around the world as we were dragging parents away from their children. and putting them in detention centers and then systematically sending them up. nobody thinks that is realistic. randy: trump is standing by the idea to create a deportation force. the g.o.p. candidate says the 11-million people can be deported successfully and humanely. emily: topping economic headlines. asian markets fall sharply overnight as the u.s. government considers a interest rate hike before year's end. here at home, stock futures are higher after the dow plummeted more than 254 points on

thursday. how about fried chicken right to your door? that's the service k.f.c. is testing right now. this pilot program is only in los angeles and san francisco and works through the door-dash app. k.f.c. plans to expand it to houston by the end of the year. that could be dangerous. a look at our trending stories on the eye. randy: an aging mobster has been acquitted for his role in a 1978 heist, made famous by the movie "goodfellas." 80-year-old vincent asaro was cleared of racketeering charges by a new york city jury yesterday, in the lufthansa heist. he was charged in 2014 after his cousin implicated him in the $6 million armed robbery, one of the largest in u.s. history. his lawyers successfully argued asaro was framed. emily: outrage in utah after a lesbian couple is ordered to give up their foster child. the judge ordered the 9-month-old girl to be removed from the couple's home, citing research that children do better when raised by heterosexual couples. the lesbian couple asked for evidence, but says they were

provided none. many legal experts do not expect the decision to stand. randy: a scare for a car wash manager after he goes for a spin. the hose he was using inside the car wash got caught in one of the rotating brushes. the whole ordeal lasted for less than 30 seconds. he had a few scrapes, but is laughing about the experience, saying despite the wash, he took a shower that night. emily: yeah. i'm glad he is ok. randy: people in the control room here are laughing. startling new numbers for children with autism. emily: and dancers share their secrets.

randy: it is five minutes before 5:00. we're following breaking news now. the family of a journalist murdered by isis speak out. emily: u.s. officials are trying to confirm the death of the man known as jihadi john. military leaders say they launched a drone strike in syria against a vehicle believed to be carrying this man, jihadi john. he became the face of several horrific videos showing the beheading of captives. he has been seen in videos, killing americans, including new hampshire journalist james foley. foley's mother said his death would be "small solace." that the u.s. should have done more to stop him before her son

randy: a former boston university hockey coach is back in court today for a pretrial hearing. robert richardson is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old hockey player in the 1990's. the abuse allegedly happened at richardson's dorchester condo. the case was not reported to police until last year. richardson has already pleaded not guilty to three charges of child rape. emily: former new hampshire police officer mark richardson is spending the next three weeks in jail for slamming a suspect against a wall. the confrontation was caught on video six years ago. last may, a jury failed to reach a verdict in the case. richardson then pleaded guilty to simple assault. he says he was trying to restrain the suspect, not hurt him. randy: the florida officer who fatally shot an armed man, broken down on the side of the road, has been fired. officer nouman raja was working undercover, not in uniform, when he came across what he thought was an abandoned vehicle last month. he claims corey jones, who was waiting for a tow truck, came upon him suddenly, and was armed. raja fired six shots, striking

jones three times. jones' family and civil rights activists are demanding charges. emily: two massachusetts doctors are paying big, accused of profiting off of patients addicted to opioids. investigators say the doctors charged low-income patients who were covered by masshealth, for a drug used to suppress withdrawal and cravings. the patients should have been covered under the state's medicaid program. the doctors, one of whom works in dedham, the other in sharon and attleboro, must now pay more than $400,000 apiece in penalties and restitution. randy: new this morning: a staggering statistic on autism. a new government survey finds a major jump in the number of children diagnosed is now more than 2% of kids across the country. that's one in 45 children between the ages of 3 and 17. researchers say doctors are changing the way they diagnose autism, and parents are far more likely now to seek a diagnosis.
