microscope in the growing opioid crisis. the eyeopener' s sera congi is live in rochester, new hampshire where that mom will face a judge today. sera: that mother actually one of three people charged in the teenager' s death. and while they face a judge there is a new push to stop this from happening again. 17-year-old evangelique tarmey was found dead inside a rochester, new hampshire motel room 3 weeks ago. this morning, her mother, jazzmyn rood, her boyfriend, mark ross and leslie aberle of salisbury, mass are in jail. prosecutors say the trio made fentanyl available to the teenager. her school, still grieving the loss, is opening a conversation about teens, drugs and addiction. >> we talked about additional education and training for students of all ages and how we do that and making sure we intervene as soon as we can. sera: overdoses have already claimed 8 lives in rochester this year. fentanyl abuse, in particular, has exploded. last year, massachusetts logged the second highest seizures of the highly addictive drug in the nation.

emily: a group of muslims were at the statehouse yesterday to lobby for recognition. organizers say there is not a single elected official of muslim faith working in the statehouse and are concerned about their communities and are disappointed by the recent incident of vandalism at a burlington mosque. the group was rallying for more political representation. randy: a person shot in new hampshire is accused of smuggling drugs and state police say the 49-year-old brought drugs into the northern new hampshire correctional facility which is in berlin. he worked there for 11 years and accused of trying to smuggle in more than $67,000 worth of drugs and police say the investigation is ongoing and there may be more arrests. emily: two massachusetts doctors are accused of profiting off of patients addicted to opioids. investigators say the doctors charge low income patients who were covered by mass health for a drug used to suppress withdrawal and cravings. the patient should have been covered under the state' s

close to 20 miles per hour but we are just getting started with the winds. the winds are coming up over 20 miles per hour shortly and sustained winds will stay there throughout the day and we will find wind gusts over 30 and perhaps 40 miles per hour. the strongest winds are on the cape where there is a wind advisory through tomorrow morning. starting out at 51 in town with lower 50' s on the cape and 45 in worcester and 47 in lawrence with brighter skies in eastern massachusetts. there are clouds to the west and they will fill in this afternoon with temperatures hitting the mid 50' s by lunchtime and upper 50' s for our high today. with the wind, it will feel colder. it will cool off tonight and we are in the low 30' s north and west of town and a disturbance comes by to shift the wins and could produce snow showers toward the berkshires. clearing out with lots of sunshine in the forecast for saturday. the wind will continue so take the wind with a high temperature in the mid-40' s and it will feel like it' s in the 30' s all day
