emily: good morning. it's monday, november 16. i'm emily riemer. randy: i'm randy price. breaking news overnight on the eyeopener. now at 4:30. more than 150 raids carried out overnight in france. the arrests this morning as the country ramps up its fight against terrorism. emily: security concerns in worcester. the weapons stolen from an army reserve facility. and how police are trying to track them down. randy: edelman out. the tough break for the patriots star. and when we could see him back on the field. emily: we'll get to those stories. first cindy here with your forecast. a cold start today. cindy: a chilly start but actually a milder afternoon overall. 48 degrees in boston right now. winds under 10 miles per hour in most areas so we have dropped off to near the freezing markup

through the merrimack valley. nashua 32. you head to worcester county. just 29 in orange but 42 at the airport in worcester. cold pocket around norwood at freezing. you can see a lot of 40's as you head down toward the cape this morning. temperatures all over the place. we have a few patches of clouds here and there but overall high pressure will dominate today. that means we are going to see a lot of sunshine. temperatures will come up by late morning into the low to mid 50's. we'll hold in the mid 50's in most spots this afternoon. but a lot of sunshine and a west-northwesterly wind at 10-15 miles an hour. 56 in boston today. could nudge towards 60 degrees south of town in a few areas but cooler day. more on that and the rest of the week coming up in just a bit. let's get you out to the roads right now. a dry start out there this morning on the roads, olessa. olessa: a live look here at the pike looking good by allston/brighton. problem-tree ride in both directions. trip. north of town 93 southbound

picking up shortly at the zakim bridge. also as you make your way along 128 over by 95 and roadwork clearing shortly a 128 north from route 1 to great plain avenue. same story along the pike by newton corner. we're expecting the trains and the buss to start the morning on schedule. emily: thank you. breaking overnight. amid grief and fear, french police take new action after the terror attacks on paris carrying out raids in several cities. and that is just one of the big developments we are following right now. randy: let's get right to the eyeopener's erika tarantal. she's tracking new information as it comes in. erika: randy, emily. we can tell you the response to the deadly assault on the city of paris is very active on several fronts at this hour. we just learned one of the bombers was already facing a terrorism charge dating back to 2012. french police carried out more than 150 raids in cities across minister. there are reports of arrests

connected to those raids, but details are still coming in. that move comes just hours after france launched what are described as massive air strikes on the isis targets in syria. those strikes destroyed a jihadi training camp in raqqa where it's believed the attacks on paris were planned. we're also learning one of the suspects, a 29-year-old french citizen, had been flagged as a possible terrorist five years ago. >> they did not have enough people to follow all of the suspects on their list. erika: right now an international manhunt is still underway for this man, one of the attack suspects that escaped. police confirm officers stopped him near the belgium border early saturday but let him go. later this morning, a moment of silence will be held around europe for the 129 people killed in friday's massacre. we'll bring you new information as we get it. emily? emily: erika, thank you. right now the hunt for suspects is on after a break-in at a u.s. army reserve center. this morning, the f.b.i. is on the case to track down stolen weapons. it happened overnight saturday at the lincoln stoddard army

that's in worcester. "5 investigates" has learned thieves broke in through the roof and stole weapons from a building full of locked doors. no one will say exactly what weapons were taken. police do not believe there is any link to terrorism. but timing of the theft soon after the paris attacks has raised concerns. >> nothing at this point in time that would tie this to, you know, any specific threat or anything else at this point. emily: the missing weapons have been entered into a national database in hopes of recovering them quickly. randy: it's 4:34. other stories we're following right now. a security scare on a flight bound for boston. the american airlines flight from washington, d.c., was evacuated before take-off. these two men were removed from the plane over concerns from the crew about suspicious behavior. security teams swept the plane but found nothing. emily: a 19-year-old is seriously hurt after he was shot while sitting in a car in revere. it happened along american legion highway around 8:00 last

his father. police say several shots were fired into the vehicle. the teen was struck in the neck and is in stable condition. police are now looking for a black s.u.v. with tinted windows. randy: opening statements begin today in the trial of a danvers teen accused of killing his teacher. phillip chism is charged with raping and murdering colleen ritzer at the school two years ago. he was 14 at the time but is being tried as an adult. the trial was delayed for three weeks while chism underwent a psychological exam that determined he is competent to stand trial. emily: a key patriots player is out after this tough play. wide receiver julian edelman breaking his foot in last night's dramatic win over the this morning, he'll undergo surgery. the eye's todd kazakiewich is live at gillette stadium. and todd, edelman could be back? todd: emily, he could be back goes. we're told this is not necessarily a season

campus and give the all-clear. emily: the death of a baby in new hampshire is under investigation as suspicious. police say the 11-month-old was injured when he was taken from a home in alexandria on friday. he died on sunday. an autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow. a 44-year-old woman from roslindale is dead after she was hit by a car in dedham. it happened near exit 15b on i-95 around 5:00. police are trying to find out why she was in the road. the driver who hit her has not been charged. facebook on the defensive after a safety move. randy: the bias critics are are claiming after the paris terror attacks. >> i do not feel angry at all. randy: plus a surprising confession from a massachusetts father. his message about the terrorists

randy: looking at the map there. it's cool in some spots for the most part. cindy: not cold though. saturday was a little chilly. emily: it was, yes. olessa: the wind. cindy: it was the wind.

the winds were as strong. breezy today but on the milder side. we'll see a lot of sunshine the first half of the week. a sunny start to your workweek here. we will see a back-door cold frontal boundary drop in for midweek. that will bring a chill before we warm up again and bring in some needed rainfall around here by thursday. when i talk about needed rainfall, look at the deficit in boston since the first of the year. this is despite getting some rain last week. we are now closing in on that nine-inch mark in boston. below average for the rainfall. in worcester getting closer to eight inches now. we do need some rain. toward the end of the week we'll get some. first things first. high pressure is dominating our weather today so lots of sunshine. this front off to the north is a back-door front that will come through overnight and bring in cooler weather for tomorrow. so today is milder. the next few days starting out with a couple patches of clouds. underneath where we have some of those patches of clouds temperatures aren't as chilly. beverly at 41. it is 48 boston. 43 in marshfield. you do step away from the coast and temperatures are down near the freezing mark.

bedford to norwood. 40's on the cape this morning. in worcester it's 42 degrees right now. look at the next 12 hours. a lot of sunshine in the forecast. temperatures by late morning nearing 50 degrees. we'll spend the afternoon in the 50's. we do see those mid- and high-level clouds this morning kind of thin out here. notice as we get into the afternoon, lots and lots of sunshine so it will be a mostly sunny monday for you with more of a northwesterly wind. only about 10-15 miles an hour. mid 50's in boston up to lawrence, nashua as well. cool spot out through the hilly tefer rain in worcester county where it's in the lower 50's. taunton getting close to the 60-degree mark today with upper 50's around marshfield. a pretty nice monday. tonight will be the coldest night of the week. we'll drop back into the 20's in a lot of spots away from the coast. even near freezing in boston. as we watch that back-door cold front come on through it's turning our winds around to the north. that is going to keep us chilly tomorrow and keep us chilly on into wednesday as well. so the temperatures are up today but notice we don't get out of

the 40's for highs tomorrow. that is beside bright sunshine. winds out of the north at 5-15. not a lot of wind tomorrow. about 46 the best we do boston to worcester. notice the mildest readings are up through the merrimack valley. only in the upper 40's there. so it's a chilly tuesday. wednesday we moderate to around 50 degrees. we watch that rain come in on thursday. high pressure retreats. we get more of a southerly flow. notice it's in the upper 50's to near 60 degrees on thursday. rain likely coming in during the afternoon and evening hours. this front will take its time coming through. so there is the potential for one to maybe two inches of rainfall. it now looks like the rain is going to taper off during the afternoon on friday. if that happens, it should set us up for a dry friday evening and a dry weekend as well. but notice we go from the upper 50's to near 60 thursday and friday. back down into the 40's with some sunshine many doing up for the upcoming weekend. a btle it of a temperature roller coaster. we're up today. enjoy that on monday. olessa: a quiet start on the roads.

survive. his father admits he's not upset with the attackers. father: these people are brain washed. they have a story in their head that makes sense to them. i would be a lot more angry at the people who put that story in there. emily: meersseman is making plans to go to his son's bedside in paris. he hopes to arrive by thursday. randy: facebook is defending its decision to activate its safety function in the hours after friday's attacks in paris. the function allows users to indicate they are safe in a time of crisis. critics point out that facebook did not activate the feature after the recent terror bombing in beirut, and they say that's evidence of facebook's bias. facebook admits that friday marked a change in policy. before then, the feature was only used for natural disasters. emily: asian stocks fell today, the paris attacks sparked worry in the global economy. right now, stock futures are

down on wall street. that's after the dow plummeted 202 points friday over fears that holiday shopping will be poor. the jetblue terminal at boston's logan airport is getting an upgrade. the airline is unveiling its first phase of terminal improvements today. they are working with massport to bring interactive kiosks, updated flight displays, and other upgrades to terminal c. the project is expected to finish sometime next year. 4:50. a look at your trending stories randy: a possible rematch could be in the works for one of fighting's biggest upsets. former boxing champ holly holm took down u.f.c. star ronda rousey saturday in round 2 of the highly-anticipated match. now, the president of u.f.c. says a rematch is what fans want. before the fight, rousey had emily: zebras lead police on a chase in philadelphia. figure out how two of them got loose from their universoul circus group. they were first spotted

hollande skipped the summit to stay home in the aftermath of the attacks. emily: bostonians hold a vigil for the paris victims. hundreds attended a rally on boston common yesterday to show their support for france. a makeshift memorial is now set up in front of a plaque for a french general who fought for the u.s. during the revolutionary war. as part of the national days of mourning in france, the french counsulate in boston will make a condolence book open to the public. it will eventually be sent to france. randy: police are searching for the suspects who broke into a u.s. army reserve center in worcester. the f.b.i. is now joining the investigation to track down stolen weapons taken from the lincoln stoddard center overnight saturday. this year. to help raise money for a van that can accommodate the chair, her mother set out a donation jar at the beaver street market. police say a woman grabbed the jar saturday and ran. randy: the woman accused of shooting her uncle to death in hyde park heads back to court today. yvonne lewis underwent a mental health evaluation following the murder of clive francis. family members say before the incident, lewis had been acting erratically. she is facing a murder charge. emily: five yemeni prisoners have been freed by the u.s. and transported out of guantanamo bay, cuba. they've been sent to the united arab emirates. the pentagon says the five prisoners were accepted for resettlement and are no longer considered a threat. each of them had been held for more than 13 years. a high-scoring victory for the celtics on the road. the oklahoma city thunder led by 11 points last night with just over eight minutes to go in the third quarter. but the c's turned on the jets
