the study found just under 15% of americans currently smoke, the lowest percentage since the survey began in 1997 when nearly a quarter of u.s. adults were smokers. jc: gas prices are going down just before the holidays. we' ve got your thanksgiving travel forecast. reporter: the experts are saying cheaper gas prices and a stronger economy means that more people will be getting a road next week. aaa expects about 47 million americans to be driving to their thanks giving destination. and they will be finding cheaper gas prices. the average for a gallon is $.74 cheaper than this time last year. more americans are flying this time but prices for the flights are about the same as last year. fewer americans will be taking

phil: radioshack is offering up something new -- lack friday deals on wednesday, the day before thanksgiving. stores will feature nearly 100 different deals and they will open from 8:00 in the morning until 1:00 in the afternoon on inks giving day. radioshack on the comeback trail and has partnered with brands like amazon and apple to entice holiday shoppers. mcdonald' s is revamping its popular dollar menu. it will be launched in january and allow customers to pick two of the following items for two dollars. jc: some of the most popular banks in massachusetts have the least happy customers. people were asked about the quality of tellers and interest rates to mobile apps.

on chronicle tonight, a couple killed in andover and a mysterious murder on cape cod -- cases that keep investigators up at night. jc: a new bundle of joy times three for a family in iowa. the family welcomed identical triplets into the world on november 3. the mother said she was shocked when three babies appeared on her sonogram. her doctor says the occurrence of triplets without the use of fertility drugs is so rare that you can barely put a number on it. they went home after only three days in the hospital and now the family is adjusting to three times the care. >> it has been round-the-clock 24 hour care, just eating, changing and doing it over again. jc: dr. say a pregnancy like that comes with a lot of risk but everyone is happy and healthy. i' d don' t know how she does it with three.

phil: porsche says the crash that took actor hall walker possible life was his own fault. the automaker made that claim in court documents. his teenage daughter filed a suit claiming the sports car he was riding in had multiple flaws. the car company said the car was abused and altered prior to the crash and walker put himself at risk. it was a special day in uniform for a little boy in pittsfield as he became an honorary officer.

most of the passengers said they were completely unaware of any incident until the crew announced the police would be boarding the plane to escort a passenger off the flight. then they saw a woman in handcuffs walking down the aisle from the back of the plane. >> she did have a weber state read and i think she was going into the bathroom trying to use it. that' s when everybody said you are doing something you are not allowed to do and she got violent about it. >> she tried to cross the aisle to get to the bathroom. the flight attendants noticed and said don' t do it and escorted her back. >> it was happening about three rows behind us. i heard she was trying to open the door at 38,000 feet. reporter: how were you aware that something was going on? >> when the crew asked the people around her to move away and they strapped her in.
