we have a limit of volume as you approach the 11 connector. randy: breaking overnight, hundreds of protestors, making their voices heard in chicago swarming roads and blocking a freeway. they' re outraged by newly-released video of a white police officer, shooting a black teenager 16 times. that officer has been charged with first degree murder for the 2014 death of laquan mcdonald. erika: this is dashcam video of that night. mcdonald is walking in the middle of the street with a knife in his right hand. as he walks away from the police, two of them approach him with guns drawn. one of them, jason van dyke, fires. we' re freezing the video there, but mcdonald is shot 16 times in 15 seconds. clerks -- >> of the eight or more officers on the scene it was only the defendant to fired his weapon. erika: a hearing will be held monday to determine if van dyke should be released on bail. the city has already paid mcdonalds family $5 million in a

accordingly. randy: right now police are investigating a freak incident that is now deadly. a car flying out of control and hitting shoppers. s antoinette we' ve learned about the crash. antonio: it happened here at the cloverleaf shops the car actually going airborne. see word crashed into the tool shop. two others are injured. we' ve learned a woman in her late 80' s somehow lost control of her vehicle, hitting three men as they walked out of the harbor freight tools store. two of them were customers in their 70' s, the other was an armored truck driver in his 40' s. police have not said which one of them was killed. witnesses recall a horrific scene. >> she went airborne. when she hit the curb you heard an accident sound. that is when we all came running

this winter, there' s a very strong el nino heating up the pacific ocean, and sending warm moist air to the united states. but cohen' s model suggests that system will battle a cold siberian air building over the arctic. cohen uses snow cover in siberia during the month of october as a significant factor in his forecast. >> this path was above normal. i would to be more confident about the cold, but i will certainly expect a winter storm. cindy: the el nio will be a big factor. he agrees it' ll be hard to record numbers last winter. ll see above-average snowfall, around 62 inches. that is above normal. last year we had 110.

5. randy: right now, police are searching for a man accused of murdering a woman whose body was found burned in bridgewater. police say retaliation drove fernando owens to murder 29-year-old ashley bortner. her burned body was found along train tracks 3 weeks ago. son was shot to death in dorchester, and owens thought the woman had something to do with it. s believed to be armed and dangerous. erika: a family has a lot to be thankful for. 18 is safe after hiding out in that burglar never saw haleigh morris. she was able to hide in a bathroom with no locks as he got inside her home. 9-1-1 shaking, scared, and alone. >> he walks back the bathroom

erika: morris' mom tried calling the house alarm remotely when police say that' s when 52-year-old louis breton ran he was caught and is being held on $75,000 bail. schedule changes. the team is setting the brakes after a lot of complaints by commuters. they say they feel blindsided by the proposed changes. the changes were supposed to go into effect in december. the proposed schedule included cuts on heavily used trains and stops. the team says it will work with people and hopes to have a new schedule in place by sometime in the spring. erika: massachusetts tops the place as best places to live. randy: another recall tied to faulty airbags. the company at the center of the problem affecting millions of vehicles. erika: and ahead in news to go a

even the back roads were clogged when drivers try to get off the highway. three lanes on the northbound side were shut down. we had a ripple effect all the way through braintree. erika: vladimir putin is urging russians not to visit turkey after the country shot down a russian fighter jet. it comes as we get word that a pilot once missing in that crash is alive and back at a base. the other pilot died. their jet strayed into turkish airspace while on a bombing run over syria. the turks say they warned the russian pilots 10 times before firing. putin denies the jet was off course. randy: three people are under arrest, accused of opening fire on protesters in minneapolis on monday night. members of black lives matter were protesting the shooting death of a black man by police more than a week ago. donald trump is the latest in a new poll. he gets 32% of the vote,

that employees at takata in the u.s. raised concerns about misleading testing reports on air bags for decades that' s according to the wall street journal. the paper reports workers believe the company concealed concerns that later led to massive recalls over airbag explosion concerns. the problem has led to the recall of more than 19 million vehicles in the u.s. randy: a california man who spent 16 years behind bars has been exonerated. a judge ruled that luis vargas did not commit three sexual assaults that he was convicted of in 1999. investigators say dna evidence from a victim that was tested recently does not match vargas. erika: a surprising discovery in a new york city christmas nativity scene. a church custodian found a newborn, with his umbilical cord still attached, in the manger. the abandoned baby was wrapped in towels inside the holy child of jesus church in queens. the baby was taken to a nearby hospital, said to be in good condition. a parish family has already come forward, hoping to adopt the
