a lot of catching flight, getting into your car right now. danielle vollmar has your forecast as you make your way to your destination. danielle: i was just admiring that shot, frank and antoinette. beautiful. a lot of sunshine over boston but we are talking about some fog now. that has developed in some leagues although the latest visibilities have improved now in metro west. we did see some fog within the last hour in some spots especially here in needham. but down to about three-mile visibility in springfield. notice though local live radar is clear at this point. the big story this morning is going to be those wind chills. when you factor in the air temperature plus the wind, what it actually feels like outside, more like 14 in worcester. like 25 in boston. and like 35 right now on the cape. so it's a cold start if you're headed out right now. you want to grab a winter coat. you're going to need it. now as we go through the day here, in, say, worcester county, here's what happens. we'll see full sunshine. temperatures will warm up in the low 40's today. so it's a colder start out there and even a colder finish.

on the cape and the islands, we're going to hang on no toes clouds pretty much all day long. we'll see some breaks of sunshine, i think, by about 4:00 or 5:00. but temperatures only warm up into the mid 40's for highs. so it's a cold day today. it's even colder as we head towards tomorrow. but then a warm-up is coming. we'll talk about when we could see the 50's in the seven-day forecast aheadment antoinette? antoinette: danielle, thank you. right now. we are getting a clearer picture of the moments after a deadly shooting rampage at a planned parenthood clinic in colorado. three people were gunned down including melrose native, officer garrett swasey. the accused gunman is in custody this morning. frank: investigators revealing he used the phrase "no more baby parts" after his arrest. 57-year-old robert lewis dear is being held without bail. police used a robot to search his cabin and a nearby storage shed. neighbors say he mostly kept to himself and was, quote, "kind of strange." he's accused of killing three and injuring nine others. the names of the two victims

at a memorial for officer swasey in colorado springs, the chief of police talked about that officer's brave actions. chief: he knew, he knew the risks and he loved what he did. he dedicated himself to being here. he dedicated himself to this profession. and there's no way, there's no way that i think that i could have done anything different to make him a better officer. frank: attorney general lorettya planned parenthood a crime antoinette: boston police officers are keeping watch on the planned parenthood clinic in boston. on comm ave is closed for the expected to re-open as scheduled on monday. massachusetts planned parenthood says strong security measures remain in place at all clinics for the safety of patients and staff. officer swasey had close ties to the figure skating community in massachusetts including a friendship with olympian nancy kerrigan. both skaters practiced together in stoneham in their younger days.

here's the eyeopener's reid lamberty. reid: nancy kerrigan says it may have been on the ice here at stoneham arena that brought them together, but it's what developed outside of these cold walls that solidified their friendship. kerrigan: we spent every day together probably for a number of years. reid: they were-- in a word-- family, separated only by two years in age, united by one passion on the ice. kerrigan: he was strong and powerful and yet somehow did it with a nice ease. reid: nancy kerrigan can't recall a time when she didn't know garrett swasey and tonight remains devastated that the "champion figure skater turned cop" died in the line of duty racing to help other officers who were under fire. kerrigan: that doesn't surprise me trying to be there for someone else, to help someone reid: swasey and kerrigan trained together in stoneham, both as singles, before the melrose high school grad transitioned to ice dancing becoming a junior national champion in 1992 with partner christine fowler-binder. fowler-binder: i kind of was pushing him probably over the

the patience to calm me down, and you know, we worked together like brother and sister would. reid: kerrigan recalls swasey as being protective, caring, and nurturing of his skating partners. kerrigan: it was great to have someone like that in my corner. reid: a man who we all now knows was in everyone's corner. kerrigan: you can't explain it. kerrigan: you can't explain it. it's horrific; it's sad. reid: kerrigan says swasey's parents, with whom she is still close, first sent her a text with the terrible news and then spoke with her over the phone. all of this hours before any of us knew the sacrifice garrett swasey made. in stoneham, reid lamberty, wcvb, newscenter 5. frank: police in leicester recover an assault rifle in the search for a man allegedly tied to a domestic violence incident. "the worcester telegram" reports the suspect is now in custody. also confiscated by police, several rifle clips and ammunition. according to "the telegram," the suspect was tracked down in royalston. right now. boston police are asking for your help in solving a thanksgiving day murder near fenway park.

police are trying to figure out if the shooting happened inside or outside "who's on first" on 30-year-old jephthe chery was an innocent bystander. "who's on first" has been cited by the city. the owners will be called before antoinette: a troubling image goes viral on facebook. the photo shows a dog with its mouth duct taped. a woman, who is presumed to be his owner, posted the picture with the caption "this is what happens when you don't shut up." authorities in florida, where she lives, and connecticut where she is believed to have recently visited are investigating. right now they are not sure of her exact location. >> we've been talking to a lot of people, following up on leads and talking with the other agencies seeing if we can figure out exactly where this person is and whether or not this animal was abused or neglected. antoinette: in response to negative feedback, the woman later wrote, "don't panic, everyone. it was only for a minute."

frank: new this morning. beacon hill to raise the legal age of buying tobacco products nearly 60 state representatives and senators support the measure. buy cigarettes and other products from 18 to 21. health committee could decide next year to advance the bill. are waiting right now to see if they will be allowed to carry pepper spray. they took the matter to an arbitrator after the former school superintendent disarmed them last year. "b" when it comes to premature births. newscenter 5's kelley tuthill takes a closer look at the young lives at risk for death and a variety of health complications. kelley: molly wylie was expecting an april baby, but max arrived three months early. molly: he was three pounds and two ounces when he was born. kelley: show me. molly: he was about this big. he was tiny. kelley: max had to spend 32 days in the neonatal intensive care unit. molly: to not take your baby home from the hospital is heart-breaking, and it can be a very trying time. kelley: november is prematurity awareness month, and the march of dimes gives massachusetts a

"b" when it comes to premature births. 8.6% of massachusetts babies arrive too soon. boston, worcester, springfield, and lowell were all worse than the statewide rate. only cambridge was graded higher, receiving an "a" with a premature birth rate of 6.8%. the march of dimes is particularly concerned about racial disparities that show higher preterm birth rates for women of color. dr. dewayne pursley: we need to ensure that women have access to care. and that's important not only when they're pregnant but even kelley: the biggest risk of premature birth is death. though most babies survive, they can indeed face serious health challenges. dr. dewayne pursley: including those relating to the lung, to the brain, neurologic kelley: the march of dimes is working to improve health care and educate mothers about risk factors including maternal age and wylie works with beth israel deaconess medical center providing support to other parents of preemies. her son max will soon turn three

birth. molly: he had quite a few developmental delays. his gross motor skills were delayed. his communication was delayed. now my husband and i look at each other and say, "can you believe we were worried about his talking?" because he doesn't stop. kelley: in boston, kelley tuthill, wcvb, newscenter 5. >> now your storm team 5 forecast with meterologist danielle vollmar. antoinette: a lot of people hilting the roads, maybe heading to the airport right now. it's a really busy travel day. they're not going to deal with much. just maybe some cold temperatures. danielle: maybe some cold temperatures. that's for sure this morning. a lot of wind out there too making it feel more like the teens and 20's this morning. if you're headed out, i would definitely bundle up. antoinette: good idea. danielle: look at this shot though. it was gorgeous. just really cold if you step outside the door looking at the boats there and some, you know, you see some high clouds out there but that sunshine just reflecting really nicely through the cloud cover. really is going to be a mostly sunny day for most of us.

going to be the cape and the islands which is going to hang on to those clouds a little bit longer i think or mainly through the day today. we're watching the clouds that came in earlier associated with this cold front. this cold front brought us the rain yesterday afternoon. now parts of the mid atlantic picking up that rain. then we're watching a secondary cold front up to the north. this is actually going to bring in colder air tonight into first thing tomorrow morning. so we're not done with the cold yet. get ready. notice the 24-hour temperature change here. 15-25 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. you do remember yesterday though. we were in the 50's to start out in the morning hours. so right now starting in the 30's in boston. 26 in worcester. low 40's on the cape. mid 40's on the islands. and then you factor in the wind. it feels more like the 20's and even teens. highs today only going to reach into the low to mid 40's. we will expect a lot of sunshine, as i said before.

and notice those winds pick up because of that cold front from the north to the north and east at about 10-15 miles an hour. and watch these winds. i really want to point these out to you especially in chatham. as the winds turn to the north and east after midnight tonight and they pick up, we're going to have really cold air blowing over really warm ocean water. that ocean water is at 50 degrees. that creates enough umpf to get ocean-effect clouds going and maybe a few ocean-effect showers in the form of some rain or maybe even snow showers depending on how cold we get overnight. notice the future cast is indicating that around 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning. if you're waking up on the cape and the islands tomorrow morning, you may see a couple of these light snow showers, light rain showers. out there. not expecting anything in terms of accumulation. just want to give you the heads up with all of that. tonight temperatures drop back into the 20's. night. it's a cold night too. it will feel even colder at the bus stop tomorrow.

then tomorrow during the day we only warm up into the upper 30's to right around 40 degrees. we will have a lot of sunshine but notice that wind starts to turn to the south afternoon east later tomorrow. that is the milder airy vent ally working in for tuesday. then that's out ahead of a system that is going to bring us some pretty steady rain. maybe even heavier rain overnight tuesday into first thing wednesday. so let me show you this and break it down on the seven-day forecast. notice we're going to start out dry, i think, tuesday morning but once we get towards tuesday, 6:00, rain showers moving on n we'll see that through the overnight hours into first thing wednesday. it continues through wednesday afternoon. we are in the mid 50's on wednesday. but then behind this system we turn colder back into the 40's thursday and friday. antoinette and frank. frank: thanks a lot, danielle. time right now is 8:16. a check of the stories we're following right now. antoinette: pope francis is now

in the central african republic. nearly a half-million people turned out to see pope francis in uganda saturday. he honored the country's 19th century christian martyrs who were burned alive. he also urged the faithful to take care of the elderly and poor. frank: a tribute to the lives lost on the el faro. a memorial service was held in florida saturday for the 33 crew members who died when the cargo ship went down during hurricane joaquin. three crew members had ties to massachusetts. during the public service, november 28 was designated "a day in memoriam" for the crew. antoinette: right now a boston fire department boot is back where it belongs. back in may, the boot was stolen from engine 33 along with a metal box used to collect money for muscular dystrophy and fallen firefighters. on friday, engine 33 responded to a trash fire inside the pru that's where they spotted the boot in the debris. unfortunately the box full of money is still missing. firefighters say they are happy to have their station boot back.

skater then. in his year book quote, swasey shared his dreams of competing in the 1996 olympics. >> i remember him as someone he used to get up 4:00 in the morning before school and train. the 44-year-old husband and father of two was shot and killed while responding to a shooting at a planned parenthood chief: we are a small community, my heart goes out to the family. frank: chief michael lyle knew the swasey family before they moved away from the tight-knit north shore community. two of swasey's classmates are now melrose officers. >> not only did you lose a son, you lost a dad here, and this is devastating, devastating to anyone in law enforcement. >> we're speechless. and his hometown community will do whatever it takes to support his family. frank: after the funeral arrangements have been finalized, the mayor and the police chief say they plan to hold a memorial for swasey in his hometown. antoinette: an emotional final goodbye to the little girl we first knew as baby doe. family and friends attending the

it was back in june the toddler's body was found on deer island inside a trash bag. as the eyeopener's sera congi reports, bella is finally resting in peace. >> i'm sure she's gone to heaven already, but she's finally having her body put to rest. sera: with a handmade quilt draped over her casket, bella bond's father and other loved ones said good-bye at the burial service for the toddler who touched so many lives. the two-year-old's body was found this summer in a bag washed ashore deer island in winthrop. she became known as baby doe during the nationwide search to identify her. three months later investigators learned baby doe was bella bond, the victim of abuse. her mother rachelle bond and her boyfriend michael mccarthy are now charged in bella's death.

antoinette: good morning. it's 8:44. welcome back. it's the busiest shopping weekend of the year, and there is a big push to shop local. yesterday was small business saturday, a nationwide campaign meant to boost sales for small merchants. boston mayor marty walsh joined the festivities in roslindale village. he stressed the importance of buying local, adding that on average small businesses make up

during the holiday season. mayor: i'm asking everyone to go out when they do their christmas shopping just to stop at one of our local businesses. there's a lot of great items in our stores in every neighborhood in the city. it would be great to support the local businesses. antoinette: earlier this month mayor walsh announced the "5 on main" challenge during which at least five times during the holiday season. frank: it is definitely a tight squeeze. but this hot trend could get you into some of boston's hottest neighborhoods for less. so, of course, being our tallest reporter, i had to check it out. frank: the new big thing in city living-- small spaces. >> it's small but convenient. very modern. frank: marilyn and rodrigo are harvard graduate students. >> so this is our kitchen. frank: they call this 450 square foot micro apartment in allston home.

antoinette: all right. we have made it up to 33 degrees compared to the upper 20's we had earlier this morning. danielle: that's right. you know, it was in the 50's yesterday morning at this point snoifn i remember. danielle: do you remember that one? a 24-hour change. that's the difference that a cold front can make. i do want to talk about something more serious. you can see behind me this map is pretty much lit up. we had an ice storm out through parts of kansas and oklahoma. i want to show you what's going on up to about an inch of ice has accumulated on power lines you see there on trees. it's also made roads very slick. there's been dangerous and even fatal accidents on the roads down there. yes, i actually worked down in that market so i remember that very well. ice is a very dangerous player so unfortunately for one of the busiest travel days or the busiest weekend, it's pretty dicey down there for but for us luckily it's been rain showers associated with this part of the cold front. and now that rain has moved to the south. right now though, we do have some clouds around.

we're watching this front to the north and west. that's actually going to usher in even colder air as question head towards this evening into the overnight and into first thing tomorrow. but notice clouds still hugging our coastline and i do think the cape and the islands unfortunately for you folks down there it's going to take a lot longer for you to see sunshine like the boston area is already seeing. 32 degrees currently. the winds are out of the west-northwest at about eight. it makes it feel more like 25 degrees out there. so again if you're headed out, i would grab a coat. it looks really nice but it is actually very cold. temperatures today only warming up into the low to mid 40's for highs and notice those winds will shift from the north eventually to the north and east. and they're going to pick up through the afternoon and even this evening. in fact, here are those wind speeds right now. anywhere from 8-14 miles an hour. right now they're out of the north and west. event later later today they're going to shift to the north and east and as that cold air blows

over that warmer ocean water, know ocean water right now is at 50 degrees. that creates moisture to get ocean-effect clouds and even ocean-effect showers going. you can see this is the chatham wind forecast turn to go the north and east after midnight so i would say after midnight tonight expect more clouds to move in and maybe snow showers even depending on how cold the temperatures are. in fact, let me show you this on the future cast. notice by midnight the cape and the the islands betting some of this cloud cover. here comes maybe one or two in. now this latest model actually trying to bring it in along the south shore as well with that northeast trajectory of the winds. so be aware of this. anyone from boston points south and east could see some flurries to wake up to tomorrow morning or rain showers depending on that temperature. i do think that temperature will be below freezing. accumulation. i'm not trying to freak anyone out but we are talking about seeing some flurries out this tomorrow morning. tonight's overnight lows, the 20's, low 30's. and then tomorrow during the

day, we only warm up into the highs. a lot of sunshine though through the day. so we'll take that. it will be fimenterred sunshine though. then as we head towards tuesday, notice the temperatures jump up into the upper 40's, even low 50's in spots. with that comes some much-needed here's what happens on the notice the morning is is drievment once we get towards, say, 5:00 or 6:00, i think some rain could be in the area pike. and then after that, everybody starts to see the rain. there could even be some heavy downpours out there. we're looking for anywhere from a half he an inch to an inch of rain in total. the heaviest rain coming overnight into first thing wednesday morning. so wednesday morning commute could be a wet one. it will also be mild. we fall back into the 40's thursday and friday. looking at lots of sunshine over next weekend. antoinette and frank. antoinette: thank you. 8:50 right now.

i'm antoinette antonio. frank: and i'm frank holland. it's sunday, november 29. beautiful shot outside from east boston looking into the city of boston. busiest travel day of the year. a lot of you are getting in your danielle vollmar has the forecast you need before you set off. hey, danielle. and antoinette. that was a gorgeous shot. you see bright blue skies over boston but parts of the cape and the islands and even the south coast still socked in with high clouds out there. temperaturewise though, you're milder on the cape in the mid 40's right now on nantucket. this is the wind chill though. this is when you factor in the air temperature and also the winds but it feels more like 20 in worcester and like 27 still in boston. so we did have wind chills in the teens. we've improved just a bit. we'll take it. temperatures in the mid 30's along the south shore. low 40's on the cape and islands. as we go through the next 12 hours there, we will see temperatures hold in the mid 40's. we'll have clouds around for the cape and the islands and temperatures will start to drop

as we head through the overnight hours. we'll talk about just how cold we get as well as the warm-up that follows. antoinette. antoinette: danielle, thank you. right now. we are getting a clearer picture of the moments after a deadly shooting rampage at a planned parenthood clinic in colorado. three people were gunned down including melrose native, officer garrett swasey. the accused gunman is in custody this morning. frank: investigators revealing he alledgely used the phrase "no more baby parts" after his arrest. 57-year-old robert lewis dear is being held without bail. police used a robot to search his cabin and a nearby storage shed. neighbors say he mostly kept to himself and was, quote, "kind of strange." he's accused of killing three and injuring nine others. the names of the other two victims have not been released. at a memorial for officer swasey in colorado springs, the chief of police talked about that officer's brave actions.

chief: he knew, he knew the risks and he loved what he did. he dedicated himself to being here. he dedicated himself to this profession. and there's no way, there's no way that i think that i could have done anything different to make him a better officer. frank: attorney general lorettya lynch calling the shooting at planned parenthood a crime against women. officers are keeping watch on the planned parenthood clinic in boston. on comm ave is closed for the expected to re-open as scheduled on monday. massachusetts planned parenthood says strong security measures remain in place at all clinics for the safety of patients and staff. officer swasey had close ties to the figure skating community in massachusetts including a friendship with olympian nancy kerrigan. both skaters practiced together in stoneham in their younger days. here's the eyeopener's reid lamberty. reid: nancy kerrigan says it may have been on the ice here at stoneham arena that initially brought them together, but it's what developed outside of these cold walls that solidified their friendship. kerrigan: we spent every day

together probably for a number of years. reid: they were-- in a word-- family, separated only by two years in age, united by one passion on the ice. kerrigan: he was strong and powerful and yet somehow did it with a nice ease. reid: nancy kerrigan can't recall a time when she didn't know garrett swasey and tonight remains devastated that the "champion figure skater turned cop" died in the line of duty racing to help other officers who were under fire. kerrigan: that doesn't surprise me trying to be there for someone else, to help someone else. reid: swasey and kerrigan trained together in stoneham, both as singles, before the melrose high school grad transitioned to ice dancing becoming a junior national

champion in 1992 with partner christine fowler-binder. fowler-binder: i kind of was pushing him probably over the edge at times and he always had the patience to calm me down, and you know, we worked together like brother and sister would. reid: kerrigan recalls swasey as being protective, caring, and nurturing of his skating partners. kerrigan: it was great to have someone like that in my corner. reid: a man who we all now know kerrigan: you can't explain it. it's horrific; it's sad. reid: kerrigan says swasey's parents, with whom she is still with the terrible news and then all of this hours before any of us knew the sacrifice garrett swasey made. in stoneham, reid lamberty, wcvb, newscenter 5. recover an assault rifle in the search for a man allegedly tied to a domestic violence incident. "the worcester telegram" reports the suspect is now in custody. also confiscated by police, several rifle clips and ammunition. according to "the telegram," the suspect was tracked down in royalston. right now. boston police are asking for your help in solving a thanksgiving day murder near fenway park. police are trying to figure out if the shooting happened inside or outside "who's on first" on yawkey way. 30-year-old jephthe chery was an innocent bystander. "who's on first" has been cited by the city. the owners will be called before the city licensing board. antoinette: a troubling image goes viral on facebook.

the photo shows a dog with its mouth duct taped shut. a woman, who is presumed to be his owner, posted the picture with the caption "this is what happens when you don't shut up." authorities in florida, where she lives, and connecticut where she is believed to have recently visited are investigating. right now they are not sure of her exact location. >> we've been talking to a lot of people, following up on leads and talking with the other agencies seeing if we can figure out exactly where this person is and whether or not this animal was abused or neglected. antoinette: in response to negative feedback, the woman later posted, "don't panic, everyone. it was only for a minute." anyone with information is asked to call police. frank: new this morning. a new move from lawmakers on beacon hill to raise the legal age of buying tobacco products statewide. nearly 60 state representatives

arrived three months early. molly: he was three pounds and two ounces when he was born. kelley: show me. molly: he was about this big. he was tiny. kelley: max had to spend 32 days in the neonatal intensive care unit. molly: to not take your baby home from the hospital is heart-breaking, and it can be a very trying time. kelley: november is prematurity of dimes gives massachusetts a "b" when it comes to premature births. 8.6% of massachusetts babies arrive too soon. boston, worcester, springfield, and lowell were all worse than the statewide rate. only cambridge was graded higher, receiving an "a" with a premature birth rate of 6.8%. the march of dimes is particularly concerned about racial disparities that show higher preterm birth rates for women of color. dr. dewayne pursley: we need to ensure that women have access to care. and that's important not only when they're pregnant but even for primary care. kelley: the biggest risk of premature birth is death. though most babies survive, they can indeed face serious health challenges. dr. dewayne pursley: including

to the north and east finally later tonight. we'll see a lot of sunshine. the onlyxception really is the tape and the islands which still are hanging on to some clouds even at this hour. they're really high, thin clouds though associated with this cold front that brought us the rain yesterday. the rain now farther south in the d.c. area. that's where it will stay. it's a dry day on tap. we're watching a secondary kronlt. this one comes through later today and brings in even colder air for tonight into first thing tomorrow morning. so the rain impact, notice it is descrie tomorrow but i didn't see the dry forecast in for today. because there could be some ocean-enhanced snow showers or rain showers later tonight. for parts of the cape, the islands and maybe now even the south shore but more significant rain is coming tuesday and wednesday, but it is in the form of rain because temperatures will be so mild at that point. now here's what happens. the winds turn to the north and east tonight in chatham. and as that cold air runs over that very warm ocean water, we

with. maybe just grab the jacket. danielle: grab a jacket, grab a blanket. grab a parka. antoinette: whatever you have. danielle: whatever you have, folks, grab it. yesterday in the 50's at this hour. today in the 20's and 30's. it is chilly out there this morning. mid 40's on nantucket. milder weather down the farther south you go. that's also because you're dealing with a lot of clouds on the cape and the islands. now as we go through the day, sunshine for all of us. except for the cape and the islands. you're going to hang on to cloud cover a little bit longer. temperatures will warm into low to mid 40's. the winds are out of the north at about 5-10 but they're going to be picking up out of the north and east at about 10-15 through the afternoon. so you'll feel them. it makes it feel even colder outside. these are your high temperatures across the area. notice some clouds basically from boston and points south and east. and then as we look back to the north and west, we're watching a second cold front that is going

to come through, through the afternoon, kick up the winds and cool down the temperatures even more. so we'll talk about how cold we'll be tomorrow morning and then the warm-up that follows. antoinette? antoinette: danielle, thank you. it's 9:31 right now. police are searching for the woman who allegedly posted this photo on facebook-- a dog with its mouth duct-taped shut. investigators are not sure of they say she lives in florida but recently visited police in both states are investigating. police in leicester recover an assault rifle in the search for a man allegedly tied to a domestic violence incident. "the worcester telegram" reports the suspect is now in custody. he was arrested in royalston. also confiscated by police, several rifle clips and ammunition. frank: the man accused in the shooting deaths of three people at colorado planned parenthood clinic is being held without bail. investigators revealing the suspect used the phrase "no more baby parts" after his arrest. authorities searched his home yesterday. one of the three people killed

was a police officer from melrose. officer garrett swasey left a strong impression in his hometown of melrose. i spoke to those who knew and admired him. >> he lived a short life but a life that certainly made its mark on the world. frank: the mayor of melrose sharing fond memories of melrose native garret swasey. the university of colorado/colorado springs police officer was killed in the line of duty on friday. >> he was a tremendous athlete. frank: mayor dolan and swasey both graduated from melrose high in 1989. swasey was a champion figure skater then. in his year book quote, swasey shared his dreams of competing in the 1996 olympics. >> i remember him as someone very committed to skating. he used to get up 4:00 in the morning before school and train. frank: the 44-year-old husband and father of two was shot and killed while responding to a shooting at a planned parenthood facility. chief: we are a small community, we know everyone, and certainly

the swasey family before they moved away from the tight-knit north shore community. two of swasey's classmates are now melrose officers. >> not only did you lose a son, you lost a dad here, and this is devastating, devastating to anyone in law enforcement. >> we're speechless. and his hometown community will do whatever it takes to support his family. frank: after the funeral arrangements have been finalized, the mayor and the police chief say they plan to hold a memorial for swasey in his hometown. antoinette: an emotional final goodbye to the little girl we first knew as baby doe. family and friends attending the funeral saturday for bella bond. it was back in june the toddler's body was found on deer island inside a trash bag. as the eyeopener's sera congi reports, bella is finally resting in peace. >> i'm sure she's gone to heaven already, but she's finally having her body put to rest. sera: with a handmade quilt draped over her casket, bella bond's father and other loved ones said good-bye at the burial

service for the toddler who touched so many lives. the two-year-old's body was found this summer in a bag washed ashore deer island in winthrop. she became known as baby doe during the nationwide search to identify her. three months later investigators learned baby doe was bella bond, the victim of abuse. her mother rachelle bond and her boyfriend michael mccarthy are now charged in bella's death. deleo: this has been a long process for many people in the community. sera: house speaker robert deleo from winthrop organized a special mass today so the community could mourn her memory. deleo: that gives us some good feeling that as she rests she can look down and say that she was loved. and that she was loved by an awful lot of people. sera: ever since her body was found on winthrop's deer island, the community has stepped up to honor the girl's memory. and now winthrop is bella bond's final resting place. >> she touched so many hearts.

>> i am feeling relieved that bella is finally being put to rest. sera: bella will be buried next to her paternal great-grandmother in a town that hopes to bring peace to a child's tragic life. deleo: she's looked upon as a daughter of our town, as a daughter of wintrhop. i dare say daughter of commonwealth and beyond. sera: in winthrop, sera congi, wcvb, newscenter 5. frank: commitment 2016. hillary clinton holds a campaign rally in boston today. and mayor marty walsh will be by her side at faneuil hall. clinton is expected to unveil an ambitious economic plan with the focus on repairing the nation's infrastructure. the rally scheduled for 2:30 this afternoon. antoinette: on the republican side, donald trump and ben carson with two very different campaign stops. trump in florida, and carson overseas in jordan. a grand entrance for the republican frontrunner in florida. announcer: our next president of the united states. antoinette: donald trump arriving for a rally in sarasota

"uh, i don't know what i said. i don't mock people who have problems. antoinette: meanwhile overseas, rival ben carson was kissing bolster his foreign policy credentials. he spent the day visiting camps for refugees fleeing syria.

carson: we're just getting a good impression of what's going on here. antoinette: carson has rejected president obama's plan to bring at least 10,000 syrian refugees to the u.s. this year. he said the government should do more to help countries like jordan to re-settle refugees in the middle east. meanwhile, many countries in the region overwhelmed by the refugees say western countries need to do more to ease the humanitarian crisis. frank: the patriots take on the broncos tonight without wide receiver danny amendola. he did not travel with the team to denver. amendola sprained his knee against the bills last monday. although he returned to practice friday, the decision was made to give him at least a week off. the only three wide receivers available are brandon lafell, chris harper, and keyshawn martin. >> i'm definitely challenged. whenever you see a challenge, you have to rise up. other players have to take on bigger roles. whatever the coaches plan, player you've just got to go out there and go out there and perform to the best of your

antoinette:antoinette: good morning. 9:42. welcome back. it's the busiest shopping weekend of the year, and there is a big push to shop local. yesterday was small business saturday, a nationwide campaign meant to boost sales for small merchants. boston mayor marty walsh joined the festivities in roslindale village. he stressed the importance of buying local, adding that on average small businesses make up 40% of their yearly revenue during the holiday season. mayor: i'm asking everyone to go out when they do their christmas shopping just to stop at one of our local businesses. there's a lot of great items in our stores in every neighborhood in the city. it would be great to support the local businesses. antoinette: earlier this month mayor walsh announced the "5 on main" challenge during which customers pledge to shop locally at least five times during the

this morning for parts of the area. many people are in the dark and without power. you see those power lines coated with ice as well as trees taken down. all this is ice. i've been there before during an ice storm. it is not fun to deal with. luckily for us closer to home we've only been dealing with the rain showers. notice this deep purple area here is actually still ice storm warnings for parts of kansas so they're still not out of it just yet. it's all due to this area of low pressure and cold front for that area. we've been on the warmer side of things so we just saw some rain evening. cold front. this one will be dry as it comes down from canada but what it will do is bring in even colder air so if you thought this morning was cold, get ready for tomorrow morning and tomorrow afternoon. still have some clouds out there this morning especially southeastern mass and we're going to hang on to those clouds pretty much all day long there. but it is cold and brighter today in most locations. it's a rainy period tuesday

afternoon into wednesday. and we're watching big temperature swings through the week. we go up. we go down. we go all around. in terms of rain chances, they're really on the way up as we head towards tuesday and wednesday. monday is dry and notice i do leave in dry for today. there's a reason for that. i'll talk about that in just a second. right now we're starting in the 20's and 30's in most locations. low 40's on the cape though and mid 40's on nantucket. and today's highs only warming into the low to mid 40's so it is a cold day overall all day long. now one thing that is going to happen with that cold front, it's going to kick up those winds and turn them eventually to the north and east. in chatham tonight, they turn to the north and east after midnight. that will bring in cold air. that cold air is riding along that warm ocean water. that ocean water right now is actually at 50 degrees. so when you have that happen, you generate some cloud cover. watch what happens on the future cast. this is some ocean-effect clouds coming in after midnight.

with a little more moisture in the air, we actually could see some ocean-effect rain showers or even some light snow showers tomorrow morning for parts of the south shore, the cape and the islands. so be aware of that. accumulation. i'm not trying to scare you. i'm just telling you that there could be a couple of showers out there tomorrow morning. if it's cold enough, it could be in the form of some light snow showers. in fact, look at hyannis tomorrow morning waking up to 33 degrees. 31 on the south shore. 32in boston. and the 20's through the merrimack valley. and tomorrow's high temperatures only climb into the upper 30's to right around 40 degrees so tomorrow is another cold one. but once we get towards tuesday we start to warm things back 50's. with that though does come some we could use it. we're down over nine inches for the year in boston. you notice heavier downpours overnight tuesday into first thing wednesday morning. it continues into widz weds afternoon before tapering off. temperaturewise though we're in
