thousands of gift cards and toys from operation santa. the thefts happened over things giving weekend. police are looking to charge another man, too. phil: a 10,000 dollar donation is going to help fight opiod overdoses on cape cod. the money from the lydon paul lorusso charitable foundation will be use to buy narcan for cape law enforcement officers. this is the second donation of $10,000 from the group. cape law enforcement says narcan is literally helping them save lives. vermont is taking new steps to deal with rising case-loads linked to the opiod crisis. the state is hiring 35 new social workers, support personnel, and a new judge to help its overwhelmed child protection system. the number of children in state custody increased by 40% in just the last two years. 80% of those cases involve young children and opiod abuse.
