the ramp from 95-128 and then your lax construction zone. looking good on the pike this morning and route nine. trains and buses starting the morning on schedule. answers after a woman is struck and killed by a red line train. antoinette: the eyeopener's frank holland is live at where rescue efforts sent two firefighters to the hospital. frank? frank: those firefighters were they tried to pull the woman out from under the train. fortunately they are expected to be ok. police say the woman was trespassing when she was hit by the train last night, here at downtown crossing. trains were delayed for hours between jfk and harvard stations. the two injured firefighters received an electric shock from the third rail while testing it to see if the power had been turned off. >> there is a machine they use

been turned off. frank: the firefighters were precaution. the victim has not yet been identified, but police believe she is in her 40's. investigators now trying to figure out why she was on the tracks in the first place. antoinette: thank you. right now worcester police are second theft of human remains from hope cemetery. it comes after six skeletons were confirmed stolen from a family tomb. amador medina of connecticut is charged in that crime allegedly taking the remains for religious rituals. now, worcester detectives say three more bodies may have been taken from a second crypt. a check of all city cemetery mausoleums is now under way. new this morning, a westford woman is facing charges accused of poising a neighbor's dog to stop it from barking. police say daovone nokham slipped the miniature schnauzer prescription medication last month. it happened at the westford home

live. the dog is recovering. emily: right now a public school in holyoke that specializes in the care of emotionally disabled children is accused of abusing them. an investigation by the disability law center found that children at the peck school were subjected to excessive force. neglect and improper solution. -- sclution. the report alleges that in some cases students were forced to the floor, face-down. of slamming students into walls, and sitting on them. two millbury students may face charges after being accused of making a hit list. police say no other students were ever in any danger. a school resource officer was tipped off to the list. at this point, the superintendent is not saying exactly what the threat was or what action was taken. there are new developments this morning in the california shooting rampage. pictures of a high school in san bernardino county recovered from the shooter. authorities believe syed farook was plotting other attacks.

right now new safety changes are in the works at fenway park. they are expected at the start of this season. we have a very personal response the that overhaul. reporter: that's right. fenway, and other parks around the country, are starting with expanded safety netting behind homeplate. over the summer, tonya carpenter was rushed to the hospital from fenway after she was critically injured by a broken bat. and in july, stephanie wapenski suffered a concussion, after a foul ball struck her between the eyes. both carpenter and wapenski welcome the new safety netting, recommended by the league for all teams this season. >> what is worse? a few people being inconvenienced or god forbid, the worst case scenario, which nobody wants to think about. reporter: the new netting will cover any field-level seats within 70 feet

fenway wants to make it up to wapenski. she was engaged at the park, and will now hold her wedding here in november. emily: new this morning, another hit for fantasy sports companies. espn and college football playoff officials say there will be no ads for sites like fanduel and draftkings during the semifinals or championship games this year. the companies have come under fire as states including massachusetts debate whether they are violating anti-gambling laws. the ncaa has already decided that the ads won't run during the men's and women's basketball tournaments. antoinette: right now boston college is taking new precautions to stop a norovirus outbreak. at least 120 students are sick, most of them ate at the chipotle in cleveland circle. right now, all campus dining halls have stopped self-service to cut down on the risk. cleaning crews will pay special attention to busy public spaces. the chipotle at the center of the outbreak remains closed.

what islam really is about. antoinette: on the democratic side a new poll shows hillary clinton still trailing rival bernie sanders in new hampshire. but the gap is closing. sanders has 50% of the vote in the new poll from our sister station wmur. the vermont senator leads clinton by 10 points. she's at 40%. but just as important, the poll finds 44% of democratic voters say they haven't made up their mind who they're voting for yet. the new hampshire primary is on february 9. topping economic headlines this thursday, volkswagen now says far fewer vehicles were impacted by bad emissions testing than first though. the carmaker initially reported discrepancies in 800,000 cars worldwide. v.w. says further investigations reveal that all but 36,000 vehicles conformed to emissions standards.

morning, after wall street fell for a third day. the dow dropping 75 points to close at 17,492 yesterday. right now, stock futures are up. new this morning, general electric may be looking to bring its global headquarters to boston's seaport district. the globe reports g.e. is looking at several sites and is in talks with both governor baker and mayor marty walsh. high paying jobs to the area. right now, g.e. is based in fairfield, connecticut. take a look at this video, more evidence of fire risks with one of the hottest holiday gifts this season. witnesses say a hoverboard exploded at a mall in washington state. workers raced over and doused the flames. nobody was hurt. it's not clear what company built and sold the board. but its one of several reported fires over the past few months, some of the fires are being blamed on lithium ion batteries that may overheat if they are charged too long. this time of year, you may be trying not to reach for extra helpings.

city, including here at city hall plaza. mayor walsh says the used needles prove boston is struggling with a heroin epidemic. the city launched a 'mobile sharps team' back in may and since then, 7,000 needles have been picked up in alleys, parks, and other public places. over 500 of those needles were found by residents, who then reported the discoveries to the city, via the 311 citizen hotline or the app. nearly every neighborhood is affected.
