it was flying. i said to be lady across from me, there is something wrong here. this train is moving. pam: the t operator tonight treated and released from the hospital. he is facing a lot of questions. about 50 people on board. no injuries at all. i' m pam cross, wcvb newscenter 5 . ed: the mbta facing tough questions from our janet wu tonight about how something like this could happen. janet is live in boston does the -- in boston. did they have any answers for you? janet: governor baker called it possible negligence earlier, but by tonight, they were using the less controversial term "operator error." the transportation secretary would not directly answer the question, how easy would it be for someone with bad intentions to gain control of any train.

portsmouth, wcvb newscenter 5. heather: the number of students who were reported sick after eating at chipotle jumping again. 53 students got sick, it including 13 who did not eat at the chipotle restaurant. it could be linked to an employee who got sick last week during a shift. inspectors are coming through the site. all employees must be tested for oravirus but before they are cleared to return to work. new at 6:00, one person is injured after a staging collapse in boston' s north end. it happened at 65 charter street. police say one worker on the staging fell 50 feet and was taken to mass general hospital. no word on his injuries tonight. ed: also new, closing arguments in the philip chism murder trial, scheduled to get underway after an attorney got sick. the last two prosecution witnesses, a neuro-psychologist and a clinical psychologist, they backed up the state'

we are far closer to the record high. no where near the record -- it' s hard to imagine anything feeling this cold and the type of pattern we are in. if you did not know what the date was, you probably would never guess he was december when you look of the high temperatures around the country. it is way above average. we will stay above average for quite some time. there may be something where it gets colder for a day or two dove, but it does not look like anything cold will lock in for a wild. and of course, we are looking for the accumulating snow. boston a year ago had almost three inches. that was hosted thanksgiving. the average is 3.1, so it' s not that we are that far below average, but it' s not a wintry weather pattern all. notice that the temperature and the dew point are closed.
