police arrest a man in connection with the deadly shooting in revere. this is video you will see only on 5, officers arresting that man this afternoon. john atwater joins us from the breaking news desk. >> detectives tell us they knew who they were looking for minutes after arriving at the scene last night. they arrested the suspect in quincy this afternoon. this is michael dalio eleon. police are charging him the shooting last night that left a 66 or old man and 35 drunk woman dead. a third man was shot last night for the third victim being treated for critical injuries. we know the suspect is from lynn . he is doing court monday. police are not revealing a motive for the murders. j.c.: a surprise return for the patriots. receiver julian edelman who has

>> you are watching newscenter 5 at 5:00. phil: an investigation is underway into a medical helicopter crash in california . it killed people. four the chopper was headed to a hospital in bakersfield when it went down with the pilot, a paramedic, a patient and a nurse on board. bad weather and rain initially posed a problem for search crews.

right now on why the helicopter crashed. j.c.: the family of the chicago teenager fatally shot by a police officer addressed the public for the first time today. laquan mcdonald was shot 16 times as seen in this video by a white officer last year. protesters continued to question why it took so long for the dash-cam video to be released and why it took a year to charge officer jason van dyke with murder. the family' s remarks echoed the frustration. >> chains needs to stop from the the left change needs to start from the top down. there' s a feeling of injustice toward people of color. j.c.: there is a petition circling around the city calling for mayor rahm emmanuel to resign. phil: the deadline to buy health insurance is just a few days away. the final day to purchase coverage is december 23 in massachusetts if you go through the state' s heath connector. that coverage will begin on the first of the year. in other states the deadline is , december 15.

than a dozen republican presidential hopefuls vie for their party' s nomination, the g.o.p. could see a contested convention this summer. one candidate is crying foul. newscenter 5' s aixa diaz is live at our washington bureau. aixa, what' s ben carson saying? >> ben carson is threatening to leave the g.o.p. if party leaders are meeting quietly to manipulate the republican national convention. reacting to reports of a closed door meeting between republican leaders, ben carson says he will not sit by and watch a theft. "the washington post" reports a private dinner in washington focused on the possibility of a brokered g.o.p. convention. if no clear winner emerges from the primaries. >> a brokered convention is likely to favor the establishment candidate, people who have connections among the party leaders. >> in a statement released by his campaign, carson said if

harvey: everybody else is smiling. it is so unbelievable. 58 was the high today in boston. the low was 43. that is exactly the high and low yesterday. identical, 58 and 43 two days in a row. both are above the average. 14 degrees above normal. the month is over seven degrees above normal. every day except the first one has been a bun at -- above average and we have not used up the allotment of this mild pattern. 54 is the temperature in boston with a light southerly breeze at this time. we see a few 40' s to the north and west. otherwise come in the 50' s. we do have clouds. they will clear later. while there passing through, it prevents the temperature from falling much. we have a southwesterly breeze.

boston will only drop into the 40' s. s. there' around parts of southern new there will be some valley areas tonight that get it. i don' t expect it to be like last night. this time, the wind will be light out of the west. it is drier air which should prevent the widespread dense fog from being repeated. talk about. you see it in bismarck, north dakota, and to our north. keep this in mind. it does look like sunday will be cooler than saturday and cloudier. i am picking saturday as the better of the weekend days. all of this works, we are still in line to be enjoying that tomorrow for sure around here. here is the slightly cooler air from the north that will try to come down as a backdoor cold front on sunday. that is why sunday'

here you go with projected high temperatures tomorrow. there is room for this to be a degree or so higher. it is possible austin will touch 60. this might be three in a row. if this were the summer, it would be warmer than this. it would be like a heatwave. we cannot have a heatwave, but three, 60-degree days in a row is impressive for some areas at this time of the year. for saturday, we start out clear. we are going to have a good deal of sunshine and maybe patchy clouds. notice the difference on sunday. we get clouds from the west and the backdoor cold front from the north and east. there is a slight chance that could be a sprints later on sunday. i think it will just be clouds and cooler temperatures. there is tomorrow. enjoy it if you can. we don' t get many, even though we had an incredible weekend last weekend.

delta, american, and united say hoverboards are banned from their flights, the airlines joining a growing list of others who refuse to allow the devices on board over fears that they may catch fire. delta says manufacturers do not consistently provide detail about the size or power of their lithium-ion batteries. j.c.: if you like to do your last-minute shopping online, you probably do not want to wait much longer. an estimated 1.5 billion packages will be shipped this holiday season, and the companies are overwhelmed and warn some deliveries may be late. ' tis the season to shop online. will those purchases arrive on time to be placed beneath the tree? that is the burning question as u.p.s. and fedex posted lower-than-expected on-time delivery rates in the run-up to christmas. according to ship matrix, on-time delivery rates for u.p.s. and fedex are down from this time last year.
