the threat for severe weather not over yet in texas or in neighboring oklahoma. meanwhile out west, rain is hampering efforts to clean up after a rare tornado touched down in battleground washington. on thursday, swept through a mostly residential part of the city tearing off roofs and ripping out massive trees. it could taken weeks and even months for some people to clean up. antoinette: denver, colorado seeing some snow yesterday. about six inches to eight inches fell up in mountains which caused some heavy traffic along i-70. the snow did taper off overnight, and it should be sunny and dry for today's a taste of winter in southern california. there has been rain, hail, and snow. and the breezy conditions are making it feel even colder than it is. >> i think it's really cold. >> it's freezing. i'm not used to it. us cali people are not used to this weather.

6:15 am
our temperatures down today and also bringing in a lot of clouds. you can see it here on our satellite and radar. so the big story is this. yesterday we were in the 60's in boston, upper 50's in worcester. today we're only going to make it into the 50's in boston and upper 40's in worcester so it's about a 10-degree temperature difference. however, just to give you some perspective, we should be running around 42 degrees this time of year so i think we'll take 50 degrees and 48 degrees. as you look outside right now, not much to see just yet. when that sun does come up, you're going to see a lot of clouds out there. 50 degrees currently in boston. the winds are out of the north at about five miles an hour. they will be shifting though to the north and east later today. so we're starting out the morning in the 30's in concord. that's actually the cool spot on the map. 40's in worcester. low to even mid 50's now on nantucket as well as block island. so obviously it's pretty warm day.
6:16 am
going to warm up or stay really in the upper 40's to low 50's with a lot of cloud cover around. that's really the story today. the big difference from yesterday, of course, is not only the temperature drop but the more clouds in the forecast. in terms of high temperatures, this is the map today. low 50's so pretty much everybody. a few upper 40's too. then tonight we'll drop back into the 30's and 40's but a pretty mild night because that wind is turn to go the south and east. and tomorrow temperatures actually warm back up a couple of degrees warmer out ahead of this warm front. of course with that comes some rain. looks like a very slow chance of drizzle in the morning to early afternoon. once we get past, say, dinner time, the rain chances really bump up. they continue early tuesday morning. so here's that future cast. that cold front working its way down farther to the south today for us. cloud cover around for monday morning. maybe some patchy drizzle but here comes those showers. they really come through, i think, overnight into early tuesday but by tuesday morning
6:17 am
turn windy behind this storm system. so in terms of what we're talking about here, i do want to give you the timing on this once again on monday. and break it down for you. notice by lunchtime just maybe a couple of showers around but it's once we get towards, say, midnight, notice when you have yellows and oranges on the map, we'll see gusty downpours. rainfall rates in excess of about half an inch to an inch. notice by 6:00 most of this rain is gone and then behind it the big story is this. we're going to start to clear things out slowly. but it's going to take its time. we're going to watch these winds really pick up. they're going to turn and crank out of the north and west through the afternoon so even though i have a high of 58 degrees, it will actually be falling through the afternoon. 58 will be your high in the morning hours and then we'll we'll be back in the 40's wednesday and by next weekend we'll be back in the 30's. holidays. frank and antoinette. antoinette: it was about time, i

but tomorrow morning patchy drizzle. and then here comes the heavier rain overnight monday and by tuesday morning it's really clearing out of here. behind it, we're actually gooding to turn windy and cooler. so half an inch to an inch of rain looks likely from this system. that will then taper off on tuesday. notice tuesday. high temperature of 58 but i think falling temperatures because that's going to happen in the morning hours. watch what happens. these winds start to turn from south and west to the north and west. they start to blow. these are the wind gusts upwards of 30-40 miles an hour in terms of wind gusts. and then we drop back into the 40's by wednesday. we'll see a lot more sunshine too on wednesday. then temperatures hold really i think in the 40's through the remainder of the workweek. we see another chance for some rain coming thursday afternoon into friday. and then by saturday, we're back to where we should be for this time of year.
