8:00, still raining pretty good and then we move everything off. by midnight, down to a few showers and we will say goodbye to this one. maybe some showers tomorrow on the cape and some flurries this weekend. erika: new at noon, 10 dcf workers have been fired for failing to get social work licenses. a state law that went into effect last year requires those employees be licensed. these workers were given nine months from their hire date to pass an exam, then granted extensions to september 20. the globe says the terminated workers can apply for lower-level positions. right now city and community , leaders are launching a new effort after another outbreak of violence in boston' s south end. a peace march planned for tonight after four shootings in just the last week, including a fatal shooting on tremont street yesterday. last night, police commissioner bill evans took part in a standing-room only meeting on neighborhood crime. evans told the crowd the violence is targeted and gang-related. but neighbors say that' s only part of the problem. about 90% of the city' s homeless

population finds shelter in the south end, some of them, bringing signs of drug addiction. >> i walk my dog with a sharps box. i have 10 needles in here. it is pretty much a dumping ground for these people, real people who really need help. erika: tonight' s march kicks off at 5:00 p.m. both mayor walsh and commissioner evans are expected to attend. a friend and former neighbor of one of the san bernardino shooters will face charges. federal prosecutors plan to file criminal charges against enrique marquez, who' s accused of buying two rifles that syed farook and his wife used in the deadly shooting. marquez claims he didn' t know about the pair' s plans for the attack that killed 14 people. but officials say he admitted buying the rifles for farook and that he and farook planned, but failed to carry out, an attack in 2012. tomorrow, the president heads to california to meet with shooting victims' families. but first, he'

at noon. erika: terror on an oklahoma two people killed after a man randomly opens fire on interstate 40 overnight. witnesses saw the man driving through several towns, firing from his pick-up truck. several vehicles were hit and two people killed in separate shootings about 10 miles apart before the suspect surrendered. road rage is suspected in the shootings. right now, a judge and lawyers discussing dates for the possible retrial of a baltimore police officer. yesterday, the judge declared a mistrial in the first trial over freddie gray' s death. lauren lyster reports, it' s just the beginning of a lengthy process as five other officers

lauren: these are the moments after a mistrial was announced in the freddie gray case. a jury unable to reach a unanimous decision. a handful of arrests, authorities forcefully clearing the streets but overnight the protests were overwhelmingly peaceful, nothing like the widespread chaos that arrested when his death was announced. they are stressing faith in the system that did not reach a verdict in the trial of the first of six police officers charged in gray' s death. >> we have confidence there will be another trial with a different jury. lauren: freddie gray died of a spinal injury while in police custody. prosecutors are claiming porter could have put a seatbelt on the victim.

we have a lot of drizzle now but the main event coming later this afternoon. mild air surging in from the south and along that cold front is where we are seeing all of the rain. we have a lot of clouds, we have some drizzle, but the showers now are just across the border and marching their way eastward. this afternoon, you will see the downpours taking place. usually we look at it being cold on the coast or cold in the inland. now we have pockets of cold. boston still at 48 but worcester at 41. travel down the coast and temperatures into the 50' s. high temperatures today will range, mid 40' s inland. nantucket at 54 degrees. a great noon across the city, 48 degrees. anytime you

cool the temperature start to see visible moisture, a cloud or fog in this case. if you are closer to 45 you are seeing the fog. 2:00 this afternoon, these are all the scattered showers moving in, but the real punch is right here. around 6:00 cutting across connecticut, rhode island and this thing. the heavy rain out toward the cape but inland a few scattered showers. will be clear on the coast. the storm. tomorrow morning, we see clouds along the coast. by about 1:30, we are beginning to see showers offshore and most there' s the chance of seeing showers at the cape tomorrow.
