fascinating -- mount washington is 6000 feet and you are above the clouds, but there isn' t much snow and there hasn' t been much wind either. this held the windiest recordings in the world. what we' re talking about now is a little bit of rain. the rain was going on yesterday, picking up a half-inch. that rain event is over, but we may get a glancing blow from another one as we talk later this morning. there is the main rainmaker. if you travel down the long this carolina coast. the main focus will be well offshore, but it may throw just enough rain towards the southeastern part of the state. you are more likely to see it at the cave then inland. here' s what it looks like --

the temperature won' t climb dramatically, but it is a day where we see temperatures hold steady the 50' s. 48 now, dew point quite high. the fog was very thick early but it is starting to break up. you still may run into a patch of it here or there. the main rainmaker is up here but down along this front there is a whole new batch of rain. that is going to be pushing mainly offshore, but we may get a glancing blow. plan on a few showers in the southeastern part of the state as we had through the day. inland make it sunshine but don' t hold up too much hope. the other thing you will notice is the chilly breeze. just enough moisture coming off the lake that we could see a few scattered flurries or snow squalls tomorrow. they may be the only snow we see before christmas.
