trains and buses starting the morning on schedule. randy: -- emily: thank you. right now, all public schools are shut down in nashua, new hampshire after a threat of violence. randy: the eyeopener' s todd kazakeiwch is in nashua, with the specific threat today. todd: police say the detailed threat concerns to high schools in nashua. the threat came in via email, and warned that action would be taken to hurt students. the bomb squad was on campus yesterday, scouring for any sign of a threat. school leaders say nothing was found but classes were canceled as a precaution. t rule out that it might be a credible cautious course of action and tomorrow. todd: both local police and the fbi are now investigating. the closure affects 17 public schools, and more than 1100 students. the superintendent says he plans

reporting live in nashua, todd kazakiewich, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: breaking overnight, new details coming on a wild and deadly crash on the las vegas strip. a driver just plowing into a crowd of people. the eyeopener' s doug meehan is tracking information as it comes in. doug: right now at least one person is dead dozens more injured. six of them in critical condition. this is video in overnight from the heart of the las vegas strip. police say a woman drove right up onto the sidewalk in front of the paris hotel and casino. and they say, this was no accident. the suspect accused of jumping the curb hitting a number of people driving back onto the street before running onto the sidewalk again. >> there was a man on the ground. a lady was helping her. another person landed in the bushes are in the grass. doug: the suspect had a three-year-old child in the car

police made it very clear overnight this was not an act of terrorism. we' ll bring you more as we get it. randy? randy: right now, boston police are searching for a shooter in jamaica plain. boston police tell us shots were fired last night at 37 round hill road. one person was treated for non life-threatening injuries. emily: right now, a new bedford man is preparing to head to court over disturbing discoveries inside this home. police charged danny santos with animal cruelty over the weekend, after they say they found dead animals on his property. they removed malnourished dogs and cats from the home on bream street. they were there as part of a hit and run investigation. police say they found the car they were looking for at the address. right now, a third person is under arrest, in the break-in at the army reserve armory in worcester. tyrone james of dorchester is accused of helping to broker the sales of the stolen guns. he'

james walker morales, the former us army reservist accused of stealing the weapons, allegedly brought them to james to try to sell them the day after the robbery. 16 weapons in all were taken from the u.s. army reserve armory in worcester last month. randy: a heart-breaking search for answers in westport. a 4-year-old boy, killed as flames race through his home. and this isn' t the first time tragedy has struck at the same address. caleb nardolillo was killed in the fire late saturday on mount pleasant street. his mother melody and sister bella made it out but were badly hurt. in november 1952 a mother and 8 children were also killed in a the victim' s granddaughter -- grandmother from that earlier fire returned to the site yesterday, to grieve for the family. >> i came to offer solace.

the same circumstance twice. randy: the mother in this case son. a page has been set up to raise money for the family. emily: the mbta will hold a public meeting today on the agency' s finances. among the topics, the mbta' s winter plan, and how the agency is preparing for foul weather. the fiscal and management control board will also discuss the green line extension project. the budget on that plan has exceeded expectations by nearly a billion dollars. randy: right now new hampshire' s governor is is calling for an investigation into a wide-spread carbon monoxide alert in the city of keene. a gas mixing issue at a utility plant triggered the incident on saturday. the problem involved the mix of propane gas and air flowing into the distribution system. at least 5 people were treated for carbon monoxide symptoms. liberty utilities says the problem is being resolved. the governor is urging residents to buy c.o. detectors.

by this morning on the backside of high pressure which brought us all the sunshine on sunday. in more clouds. they are eventually going to bring in some of this rain. out ahead of this system, there' s a lot of warm air valley. that is the air mass that is working in. what' s going to transport that air in is increasing southwesterly wind, which could gust to about 45 miles per hour. we have a wind advisory up late morning through the afternoon. outside of that, the winds will per hour all day long. -- mid 50' s on the cape. near 50 through the meramec valley. the trade-off, whole lot of cloud cover throughout the day.

markets in japan fell, following wall street' s decline friday. right now, u.s. stock futures are up, after the dow plunged 367 points friday to close at 17,128. u.s. gas prices are at their lowest in more than six years. a gallon of regular gas dropped 4 cents to $2.06 nationwide in the past two weeks. u.s. crude prices have sunk 17% for december. analysts say prices have dropped because supplies are strong, but demand has not been big. the new year is just around the corner. but experts say there are some things you may not want to buy in 2016. so, you might want to think twice about picking up a selfie stick. they were huge this year but they' re now also banned in some popular spots including disney world. another growing trend, fitness gear for work. designers are jumping on so-called ath-leisure wear but career counselors say don' t believe the hype. this does not fly at the office. another one that' s now wowing retail analysts, smart water

saugus, allegedly fled the scene when first responders arrived. police spoke with the suspect' s father, who agreed to bring him in the afternoon. today he faces several charges in court, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. in lynn, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: right now, there is a memorial set up for the teen killed in a shooting in roxbury. police say the victim, 17-year-old d' andre king-settles died after being shot on annunciation road on friday afternoon. this happened on a playground right behind boston police headquarters. anyone with information about who may have pulled the trigger is asked to contact the boston police. right now a deadly fire is under investigation in brockton. the district attorney says 68-year-old robert samuels died inside his apartment at 55 city hall plaza yesterday. when firefighters made it up to the third floor and into the unit, they found the victim

foul play is not suspected. emily: the driver of a car that ended up dangling over the charles river is now facing charges. the car crashed into a barrier off memorial drive in cambridge near the longfellow bridge on saturday. state police say a 22-year-old boston man is charged with negligence and destruction of property. no one was injured. a hearing is set for today as parishioners of a shuttered scituate church try to take their fight to the u.s. supreme court. they want the high court to review a massachusetts judge' s ruling that they have been trespassing since the church closed in 2004. the group of roman catholics have continued to occupy the church for the past 11 years. the state' s highest court refused to hear the case. there' the holidays. randy: that' s certainly true for more than 100 soldiers returning to new hampshire after a nine month deployment. these men and women with the national guard were stationed in the middle east. family and friends ready and
