gun that later killed and m.i.t. police officer. t riders. in the new year. emily: first, the lakeville mother in court accused of kidnapping her children. reid: she is arraigned on two counts of endangering a child, two counts of kidnapping a family member. a suicide note was found in her land rover. a 24 foot long hose and a plastic bag was found in the rental car that she was found in with her children last night. valerie mcgrath shuffled into the lakeville police station last night, 24 hours after she is accused of kidnapping her children.

desperate mother who feared for the children' s safety, according to attorneys, saying steve has many condition -- many convictions of physical abuse against valerie mcgrath. she also faces a separate charge , unrelated charges of larceny see -- larceny and a suspended license. two counts of reckless endangerment of a trout and two counts of kidnapping of a family member. -- endangerment of a child and two counts of kidnapping a family member. emily: a construction worker hospitalized after getting hit by falling concrete. he was working on the inside of a warehouse when part of a concrete wall collapsed, crushing him. he was alert and conscious when he was taken by hospital -- taken by helicopter to a boston hospital.

due to silva' s cooperation, his testimony cut across the defense argument that tamerlan tsarnaev and that joe dzhokhar tsarnaev -- testimony was that it was an important piece of evidence refuting his defense narrative. the prosecution is asking for no from the regular sentencing years in federal prison. the hearing is going on now. keep you posted.

emily: public schools in nashua, new hampshire, back open after a threat forced them to close yesterday. the threat was directed at students at the city' s two high schools. investigations turned up nothing. the investigation does continue. new this noon. a new hampshire man is under arrest, accused of firing a gun at his son. police in deering say last night, andrew liles got into an argument with his son. things escalated and then liles reportedly grabbed a handgun and fired several rounds in the direction of his son' s vehicle in the yard. no one was hurt, but liles faces several charges, including reckless conduct with a deadly

also new, this roxbury mother and daughter arrested in new hampshire, accused of shoplifting with an 8-year-old boy the same day the mom was arraigned on prior shoplifting charges. salem police say they were spotted taking several items from kohl' s, then walking to the changing rooms where they removed the items from the packaging and left the store. adelaida jordan is being held on bail. her daughter was released on bail. a crane that toppled onto a home in plymouth, splitting the roof, removed overnight. the foreman family had hired a crane operator to trim the trees around their lisa avenue home, but as it was lifting one of those trees, it toppled over. 17-year-old rebecca was in the kitchen when it happened. rebecca: it sounded like a tree falling on the floor. when i looked on the ceiling, i found damage. erika: three other cranes were brought into right to toppled one, but osha said it was unsafe. larger cranes were brought in to do the job. rain pushing across the area. we could have record temperatures for christmas.

the centers for disease control say it' s looking into five more cases of food-borne illness linked to the mexican food chain. the cdc says the recent cases appear to have been caused by a different bacteria than the e-coli outbreak. those cases are also unrelated to the norovirus outbreak at a chipotle in boston. new cases have popped up in oklahoma, kansas, and north dakota. >> the crowd going ballistic in florida after last night' s successful launch then landing of a space-x spacecraft. the unmanned rocket blasted off into space before returning to earth. that' s the first time that' s ever happened meaning the rocket could be reused, making future flights cheaper. erika: a rare sight expected high in the sky this christmas, a full moon. it will peak around 6:00 a.m. eastern time so you may be able to see it. this will be the last full moon of the year.
