if this is were -- this were a typical december day, we would be talking about the heaters already. there are a couple of areas of fog for the connecticut river valley. a lot of gray skies sitting out there. along with the warmth comes a lot of water. we have the relatively mild air in place. watch for a surge of warm air start to move in this afternoon. by 5:00, scattered showers are breaking out. watch this out to the west. thunder with it. t be surprised if you hear thunder across the area. then you see what happens. gray skies tomorrow. the temperatures will be flirting with 70 degrees tomorrow. we will talk about all of that

>> thank you. city health inspectors are at a boston chipotle location. >> it has been closed since an outbreak of nora virus. antoinette: just within the last minute, we got word from the city inspectors that they are just walking away from the restaurant and they told us that everything has been cleaned up. it looks like all the workers have all been tested and they are not letting any workers who did not get nora virus, they are going to let them go back to work. this is all coming back clean and this chipotle could possibly reopen as soon as tuesday night. the workers were meeting with their managers, getting ready to eventually reopen. know

the restaurant has been shut down for a few weeks. students from bc suffered from nausea and vomiting . the mother of a 16-year-old victim is suing chipotle. they say an employee was sick on a shift and that is what caused the outbreak. that employee will not come back and the manager who allow that terminated. chipotle released a statement with health officials to make open. establishment has been disinfected from top to bottom and their latest samples did test negative for nora virus. city inspectors are walking out of chipotle telling us that everything does look clean. they say it does look good.

paperwork and the restaurant in cleveland circle could reopen as soon as tonight. we will keep you posted on when that happens. that is the latest. >> thank you. it is e. coli that has made people sick at chipotle across the nation. the chain will not be prepping vegetables in central locations instead of stores, the same goes for shredding cheese. the same goes for sample testing boiling water, or blanching them, to kill germs. to still hot rice to kill any microbes. the cdc has not figured out what triggered the e. coli changes. the efforts to use local ingredients has made it more vulnerable.

is looking to identify the man seen on surveillance video. he is wanted in connection with a breaking and entering crime at a home. if you recognize them, call the police department. police are investigating an armed robbery in brighton that happened in the 200-block of lake street last night. one person was robbed and the suspects got away. >> an ayer man charged in a deadly hit and run is charged today. daniel depew will be arraigned on several charges. police say he hit siblings gina and george burdick as they unloaded groceriesd from their car in september. epew is being held --d depew is being held without bail. >> 31-year-old matthew martin is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous.

multiple towns. it started when a man called police complaining that cheryl and kelly threw a bottle at him at a local gas station. she led police on a chase that ended when she rammed into a police cruiser. she faces a slew of charges. >> the denver teenager convicted -- danvers teenager convicted of raping and murdering his high school teacher knew exactly what was going on during his trial, the judge said. he will be sentenced for the murder of colleen ritzer. he cannot be sentenced to life without parole because he was a juvenile when he committed the crime. the massachusetts attorney general is issuing a warning to gun dealers across the state. the office has investigated several dealers suspected of selling banned weapons and she is warning all licensed dealers

erika: let' s get right to julie mcdonald live at the scene. julie: things look pretty quiet. you would never know that less than an hour ago, there was a pretty involved rescue operation happening right here. boston police confirmed that two homeless men fell from a wall into the water. boston police and fire responded quickly and one of the men they had to dive into the water for. the other was not hurt and was able to climb up a ladder they had put into the water for him. both of those men rescued quickly and were ok, appeared to be unharmed. there were initial reports that a boston police officer was hurt during this rescue. we are still waiting to hear more details about that. stay with us as we continue to learn more information. pretty quiet. just an hour ago, this is what it looks like in that video.

>> that is what he weather. mike: tornadoes. in the plains. this is really an unstable weather mass we are talking about. we' re talking about record heat here. there is milder air down to the south. you can see what it is dragging with it -- a lot of rain. look at this area over the central plains. there are tornado watches out to almost chicago. this is really unheard of. around here the rain is holding off. it is down in connecticut. it will be holding off. slowing down air travel. things that improved a bit. if you know anyone flying through new york city, look at the delays. over an hour at jfk. we are looking at really big delays.

every day has been running above average except for the first of the month. the month is running almost 10 degrees above normal. this is an amazing statistic. here are the previous warmest december' s on record. 2006. look at this. look how much above that we are. we have record heat coming in as we talk about tomorrow. we are going to smash it by five degrees. this is really amazing stuff we are talking about. gray out there right now. 50 degrees. if i was telling you it was 50 degrees out, we would all be talking about how warm it is. we may have temperatures going up another 20 degrees tomorrow. the wind is calm. we have had the fog developing this morning. what about the timeline? 4:30 this afternoon -- scattered showers breaking out.

do keep in mind, the fog is going to be reforming. i 6:00, we have the rain coming in. for the last part of the commute, it is going to be wet. by 8:00, a little bit of a break. i 11:00, this is a strong band thunder. keep that in mind. as we had for the overnight hours, there could be a rumble of thunder. then it kicks on out of euro -- here at 6:00 a.m. as the day goes on, there may be holes in the cloud cover. that will determine how wet we will get tomorrow. showers developed this afternoon, tonight it is rain and fog and thunder, 48-54 -- that is as cold as we are going to get. 71 degrees in lowell tomorrow. we start the day incredibly mild and warm really fast through the afternoon.

a few places may get above the 70-degree mark. that is how warm and unstable the atmosphere is. today, it is 54 degrees. tomorrow, record warmth. the high tomorrow is 70 degrees. the records are in the 60' s and 50' s. we start to cool things down a little bit for christmas day, but it is still 60 degrees out there. into the weekend, we do have a weekend. not a big rain event, but by monday we are down to 39 degrees guess what? of year. enjoy the works, but don' too used to it. one tree at a time. newscenter 5' introduces us to the santa claus peddling his way through boston with christmas trees in tow.
