j.c.: right now, some people are hospitalized after being hit by a snow plow in at tyngsboro . they have non-life-threatening injuries. a private contractor was operating the plow at the time, and that person did stay on the scene and is cooperating with police. phil: we heard about a close call over the skies of boston, a drone coming within feet of a packed airplane. john: they reported it was just a couple hundred feet from the plane as it was coming in to land at the airport. drone sales have taken off, an estimated one million sold over the holidays, and on christmas day, one of them buzz to dangerously close to a plate landing at logan. --

governor george pataki has dropped out the race, leaving a dozen republicans in the race, and hillary clinton is wrapping up her day in new hampshire. clinton hosted town halls in portsmouth and berlin. she discussed opioid addiction, equal pay for women, and challenged gun owners to take the lead on gun control. mrs. clinton: it is time for them to do more on gun safety and responsibility and stand up for the safety of our children and our community. phil: her husband, former president bill clinton, will make his first campaign stop in new hampshire on monday. a new poll puts hillary clinton that can that with bernie sanders. j.c.: police say michael

ccullon and a plow driver got into an argument on north main street parking lot this morning, and that led to a fistfight. that is when they say mccullon pulled a semiotic handgun out. no one was hurt. he is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery. and a 2013 killing of odin lloyd, a judge denies a request from a friend of convicted killer aaron hernandez to have the murder charge against him dismissed. and it dykeman charges carlos ortiz with one count of murder for the 2013 killing of odin lloyd. phil: we are live with the new wave of support for a family.

the main roads have been treated, and they are ok. it is the secondary roads, or, perhaps, your own driveway, steps, and railing. that is what you need to be careful about for tomorrow. more sleet than snow. southern new hampshire had the higher amount being further. almost in concord, and just under an inch here. that is the first measurable snow we had in boston. it does not break a record, because we did go as far as january 3 act in 2000. worcester went from their all-time record for measurable snow late in the season. this is what it would be on start. and this is the amount of moisture. this is over an inch of water. if you were shoveling snow, that

that is why it is so heavy. it was really, really heavy, very watered down. rainfall equivalents, about an inch. you may wonder, why was it not straight snow? because up around 6000, 7000, 8000 feet in the atmosphere, the snow then freezes again. the air was warm all of the way up, so that was coming down as rain or drizzle and freezing up on contact. that is the most dangerous, that freezing rain. by the way, you might say that is winter weather. what does that do? it was still above average for boston. this is far and away the warmest winter we have on record.

25 degrees with a night -- light, northerly wind. these temperatures are going to go nowhere overnight except dropping a little bit on the cape. it is below freezing to start out tomorrow morning, so please be careful on anything that is not treated for walking or driving, but we will get a little bit of a mini thaw in the afternoon with some low 40' s to the south. temperatures tonight pretty much stay steady, which is good news. i will show you why. and then as we get closer to new year' s eve, dropping into the earnings new year' s eve itself, so the next system to watch as this one exits is the moisture developing in the southeast, and this may come by our region tomorrow night. we say goodbye to that storm and keep the clouds. then a little bit of rain.

few parts of snow. this exits first thing on thursday, and then we start to clear up as we get to new year' s eve and new year' s day, so that is the good news we have in that department. checking out the next seven days, we pretty much talked about tomorrow, so let' s talk more about new year' s eve and how this breaks down. probably about 34 degrees by the time we get to midnight. it will feel chilly at that time. and then notice the trend for colder temperatures over the weekend, which is only where we should be. early next week, maybe a 36-hour period, we will go below average. we should be a little bit above average. don' t expect us temperatures we had christmas eve and christmas day returning anytime soon. take it easy tomorrow.
