it was this loose metal grate in this tunnel that was the issue. hundreds of blue line passengers had to wait for 45 emergency shuttle buses sent by the t. many of them were already packed when they arrived to pick up passengers. maria simpson: you pay all this money, and they increase the rates every year or every other year, and this is what you get. antoinette: it took about an hour for bus service to catch up with demand. blue line service is expected to run normally today. as for the conditions here along the red line, we have not heard anything yet, but of course we will keep you posted on any changes. live in braintree this morning, antoinette antonio, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: antoinette, thank you. right now, one person is dead after a crash in new hampshire . this involved secret service agents. it happened on route 16 in wakefield. that is in the lakes region. police say the agents were driving south around 7:00 last night when a car crossed the

on. that driver, bruce danforth, died at the scene. his two passengers were taken to the hospital, as were the secret service agents. it is not clear if they had serious injuries. right now, two people at hospitalized after being hit by a snow plow in tyngsboro. we are told this happened in a restaurant parking lot on middlesex road. 20' s have non-life-threatening injuries. a private contractor was that person did stay on the scene and is cooperating with police. erika: right now, a huge section of the u.s. is dealing with historic flooding. and this battle is just beginning. cindy, we' re talking about hundreds of homes threatened. cindy: mmm-hmm. in a place like st. louis, missouri, for example, this is their wettest year on record. abc' s megan hughes takes us to the communities under the gun. megan: along the rising rivers, an army of volunteers are fighting.

kitchen, fence, and deck for his home among other things. david laplante was fired by the school committee earlier this month. he was charged last week with using district funds to buy thousands of dollars in items for personal use. court documents show hundreds of items were seized from his warwick home. erika: it is 6:20. topping economic headlines this morning, the housing markets keeps recovering from the recession. according to an analysis by moody' s analytics, single-family house prices in about 40% of 400 metro areas are now at or above their pre-recession peak. that is up from 30% a year ago. overall, home prices are still 12% below peak, but moody' s expects prices to keep climbing. locally, there are new signs that home prices are soaring in boston and well beyond. the median price of a single family home was $340,000 for the first 11 months of this year. that' s up 2.3%. the warren group also found cities that don' t traditionally benefit from economic boosts

years to the day since he vanished, family members say their search is over after a hunter found his remains in upton. james robertson was fixing his parents' plumbing on new year' s day 2014. that' s when he was taken from their avon home by two men who said he was needed for a probation-related drug test. the men said they were constables and had a document with robertson' s photo on it. four men have been charged in connection with the kidnapping, including a former dedham police officer. he' s accused of providing a badge, handcuffs, and other items to the suspects. right now, only robertson' s family is confirming that his remains have been found. we are still waiting on official word from authorities. doug meehan, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: all right, doug, thank you. new this morning, the victims of a drive-by shooting in mattapan were both in state custody. the department of youth services tells "the herald" both teens

they were shot on willmore street yesterday morning. one man died from his injuries, survive. police are now looking for a black acura seen leaving the area. revere police are looking for this man in connection to a double murder in earlier this month. murders of peter pitari and cristy johnson. the victims were shot inside an apartment. a third person was wounded but survived. he faces two murder counts and a charge of attempted murder. another suspect was arrested the day after the killings. erika: a judge will not drop murder charges against a friend of former patriot aaron hernandez. the motion was rejected yesterday. an indictment charges carlos ortiz with one count of murder for the 2013 killing of odin lloyd. hernandez is serving life in prison for lloyd' s murder. ortiz and another friend, ernest wallace, have pleaded not guilty. a rockland mother who' s already faced tragedy has now lost her home. but this morning, there' s a community effort to help maureen o' haire. yesterday, her home went up in
