that. upper 20's just to the north. temperatures are pretty much holding steady. along the coast they will inch up a little later tonight. inland areas about where they are. it's just barely above freezing now from plymouth to taunton to province. above freezing on the cape and islands where it will stay above all night long. from boston north and west, freezing rain advisories. tomorrow. but even before that, there can be initial mist and freezing drizzle in the area. the main batch of precipitation. a lot will stay to the south bud we're starting to see a little developing near the northern fringes and that will expand and move across the region later tonight. it exits tomorrow and by the time we get to new year's eve drier air is working in. a chilly northwest wind but not baitterly cold one for new year's eve but wind chills will be down in the 20's. new year's day, chilly but a

not outrageously cold for this time of year. that's overview. tomorrow, we do get a little thaw. more so on the coastline in the 40's but at least we recover to the upper 30's. for some of you, who do have a fair amount of ice, you can chip away a little and the temperatures will start to fall so when we get to 6:00 for new year's eve, about 40 in boston. 30's elsewhere. toward midnight it will be below freezing in boston and along the northern and western route. boston, around 34 or so by midnight but the wind will be a factor. it will feel like it's in the 20's at that time. >> here's your next seven days. be careful overnight tonight and early tomorrow and then we jump up to the low 40's for boston tomorrow. new year's day's high, 40 in boston. mid to upper 30's for worcester. now, as we look at saturday, a breezy and seasonably ld day. on sunday, later in the day and at nights, reinforcing cold front comes through and that's going to bring a real shot of cold air in. later sunday night, monday, monday night, and early on tuesday.

the wind will be coming north-northeast along the coast and so for the coast especially the south shore there could be some ocean enhanced snow or flurries and this will likely occur sunday night and monday. the south shore and the careful. stays cold into early tuesday. milder tuesday afternoon but still cold. then the temperatures do return to average or above in the latter portions of next week. it appears we'll get some cold air in here, but it doesn't look like it will stick around on a permanent basis. >> more births are happening out of the hospital and in homes but when it comes time to make that decision many women find they don't know the risks associated with all of their options.
