about potential threats. my boston, there' s no known threat to new york. new this morning, the new year' s fireworks are cancelled in brussels. the move comes after threats of an extremist attack in the belgium capital. the city was home to four of the suspects who carried out the attacks in paris back in november. two people were recently arrested in a suspected plot to attack brussels during the holidays. erika: breaking overnight, the mother of the teen known for his affluenza defense back in the u.s. this is video just into the newsroom. but a mexican judge has delayed ethan couch' s extradition. police traced ethan couch and his mother to mexico on monday when he used his cellphone to order pizza. the two vanished earlier this month after couch violated his probation in a 2013 drunk driving case that killed four people in texas. he famously used the affluenza defense, claming he was too rich and coddled to know better.

continues to ravage parts of missouri. that' s a house racing down a swollen river and smashing into a bridge. flood water from the mississippi and its tributaries has now spilled over nine federal levees in the st. louis area. hundreds of homes and dozens of businesses are at risk in that area alone. right now 21 people are hurt , after an air canada flight hits heavy turbulence over canada. you can see people being taken off the plane on stretchers. the plane was heading from shanghai to toronto when it hit the turbulence. it made an emergency landing in calgary. three of the 21 injured are children though none of the , injuries are believed to be life threatening. erika: this morning we know the identity of the 18-year-old killed in a brazen daylight shooting in mattapan. the globe reports joshua morales and a friend were walking on wilmore street just before 9:00 9:00 a.m. on tuesday when two people drove up and started shooting. the friend is expected to make a full recovery. no arrests have been made.

jeff: that is what we have problems on the road this morning. the southeast expressway where traffic is moving well. it is lighter than usual with people having it off. it is busier now. there is a minor accident clearing away on the southbound side. it is not a factor. a couple of situations, a grass on the southbound side of 495. it is not causing big backups. there is slower traffic on the northbound side of 93, a crash or exit form, it is a rollover. it is not affecting the south side. it is the wet conditions in freezing conditions. secondary roads. everybody' s having a fairly easy commute. randy: five on the opioid crisis, a plan to limit the supply of drugs to first-time patients is moving on this morning. the proposal, which would only allow a seven day supply of opioid medications psed a committee vote at the state house yesterday.

police say the man may have been pushing his bicycle up the hill and was ouinto the street because of the snow. no charges have been filed. erika: a home in goffstown, new hampshire is destroyed after a huge fire. the flames started in the garage and quickly spread, eventually growing to a three-alarm fire. no one was home at the time. firefighters are still trying to figure out the cause, but say water issues made for a very tough fight. a fight is brewing over a new bill proposed by republicans at the new hampshire state house that would make it illegal for women to expose their breasts in public. it does contain an exception for breast-feeding but one female lawmaker blasted the proposal calling it sexist for singling out women. a gop sponsor of the bill took to facebook to fire back woman ' her breast, and we' re paraphrasing here out in public than you should have no problem with a mans inclanation to stare

notice the temperatures going down into the 20' s by early next week. erika: thanks so much. a baby boy is waking up at home in dorchester this morning, for the first time. last night, his parents finally got to bring him home, after months in the hospital. baby noah was born a micro-preemie back in july. but the medical miracle is healthy now, thanks to some hard work at brigham and women' s hospital. noah weighed less than a pound when he was born, only 22 weeks into his mother' s pregnancy. he spent 158 days in the neo-natal intensive care unit, that' s longer than he was in the womb. his parents toni and ron have lost babies before. they relied on faith to get them through this time, and now their little fighter is home. >> he wanted to be here. we relied on our faith a lot. >> god just blessed us. it is amazing how things came

when his saturn ion crashed. he says the airbags did not deploy, as a result of the ignition switch failure. defective switches have been blamed in 124 deaths. randy: a major milestone for the rideshare service uber. the company says it has booked its one billionth ride. uber has been operating since 2010, starting out in san francisco. since then, the company has gone international. it' s one billionth ride was booked in london on christmas eve. erika: drunk-driving charges have been dropped against a woman in new york because her body can brew alcohol. the woman was arrested while driving with a blood-alcohol limit four times over the legal limit. but her doctor provided testing that says she had an undiagnosed, rare condition, in which her digestive system converts high-carbohydrate foods into alcohol. randy: if you' re already crashing from the high of seeing the latest star wars movie, don' t worry.
