homicide. 24-year-old aaron grant was shot on grinnell street on new year' s eve. he was rushed to st. luke' s hospital where he died. last night, police arrested three people. all are charged with obstruction of justice. they' re expected to be in court today. emily: also new, this scituate man is being held on $1,000 bail accused of stealing mail and packages from 7 towns, including east taunton. the taunton gazette says officers spotted ryan hudson after getting two calls of a suspicious vehicle in taunton. inside his car they found a laundry bag stuff with mail along with holiday gift cards, credit and debit cards, personal checks and jewelry. erika: right now, a woman is hospitalized after being hit by a car in brighton. it happened along chestnut hill ave just before 11:00 last night. the victim was unconscious and taken to brigham and women' s hospital. aren' t clear. the driver did stay on the scene after the crash. firefighters investigating a 2-alarm fire in roxbury overnight on gaston street. boston fire says the flames

the average high this time of s. things start to change overnight. notice these low temperatures not getting as cold. freezing and suburbs. that is due to some cloud cover. we may see a little sunshine early tomorrow. get what happens with these clouds. with a developing northeasterly wind. that may lead to some drizzle. s to around 40 degrees tomorrow. overnight tomorrow night into continue that drizzle. we have the potential for more moisture to move in and with temperatures near the freezing mark, that is concerning.

journalists get answers for you if they can. accessing public records is a hit or miss prospect for journalists and citizens alike depending on how you ask. 5 enlisted the aid of university students to test responses to public records requests. when asked by an average student at northeastern, more than half of the commonwealth' s 350 cities and towns failed to respond to requests as outlined by state law. nine police department and six town halls outright denied requests, a clear violation of state law. when we identified ourselves as journalists, the apologies came, and so did the records. but the open records law applies to all citizens. and frankly, journalists all over boston have experienced difficulty with receiving requested records in a timely fashion or without thousands of
