the last of the snow getting ready to exit the outer cape and nantucket. we're winding down on the snow. the focus will be the wind, wind advisories until 5:00. could see gusts up to 45 miles per hour. right now we're gusting over 20 and 30 miles per hour and you couple that with temperatures in the teens and 20's and it feels a whole lot colder outside. the wind chill now is 4:00 in worcester and 12 in boston. wind chills over the course of the day will actually get no higher than the teens. take a look in boston. the warmest it will feel during the afternoon will be in the teens. that's what you need to dress for. a storm moving away with those strong winds behind it. the clouds break in for at least some sunshine today so temperatures themselves coming up in the 20's to 30 degrees. the wind will feel colder. talking about the weekend storm coming up now, out to the roads we go. you want to watch out for slick spots. olessa: watch out for the slippery road ramps.

nuclear deal with iran immediately called his counterpart there demanding an apology. tension with iran have been high despite diplomatic efforts. last month iran carried out live fire exercises close to the aircraft carrier harry s. truman in the persian gulf and u.s. officials claimed iranians targeted ships with laser devices. the sailors are being held but we'll keep you posted. emily: other stories we're following, the defamation case against bill cosby continues in worcester. several women accused him of rape. it's a procedural session. cosby will not be in court. he's out on a million bail after his arrest in pennsylvania on separate criminal charges. randy: two people hurt after a chain reaction crash in the city of boston.

on the -- tremont and beacon street near parker house hotel. police say the driver was backing out and hit a pedestrian and slammed into two cars, pushing one of them into a third car. the driver suffered serious injuries. the pedestrian was not badly hurt. emily: a health scare for a patriots player. we're learning more for a medical emergency for defensive lineman chandler jones. antoinette antonio is at gillette stadium days before a big scare. antoinette: the patriots first playoff game is happening this saturday. and since this medical emergency happened, chandler jones has been at practice and he is expected to be here for practice today. here's what we know right now. on sunday morning, jones went to the foxboro police station. that was very early in the morning where he was evaluated by medical staff there. that is when they determined it was necessary to take him to norwood hospital in an ambulance. it's still unclear this morning what caused this emergency and what his condition was at the time but jones was released later on that day.

the roads covered in it. it made for driving challenges late yesterday when we had reports of thunder snow. so just incredible. take a look at some of the amounts. up over three inches at nashua. we had 2 1/2 inches through worcester county and foxboro with 2 1/2. and norwood under two, and the snow, the last of it exiting now, the outer cape of nantucket. we're done with the snow and the focus becomes the strong winds which will be gusting today to 45 miles per hour. there's a wind advisory up until 5:00 this afternoon. look at it right now gusting over 20 and 30 miles per hour across the area. that's the big impact today. the way the wind is going to make it feel, you need to dress for wind chills which are running in the single digits in worcester. elsewhere it feels like it's in the teens. boston has a wind chill of 12. feels like 10 in orange. actual temperatures, teens and 20's. these aren't going to change a

we have the temperatures that are right now not far from 20 degrees and notice, we're going to hold in the 20's most of the day with the wind chills getting no higher than the teens. you can see the skies beginning to clear out. so yeah, we'll get sunshine today but the flow of air coming from the west and it's a lot colder over the great lakes than here. toronto is 14. it is below zero at st. marie. you get the idea. cold stuff today. temperatures don't really change a whole lot but the wind is the big story. wind chills by noon time, still running in the single digits in worcester county and teens elsewhere and will be the story through the afternoon. the winds come down a bit tonight and notice you start out with clear skies this evening. overnight there will be a few clouds moving on in so partly cloudy skies tomorrow night and tomorrow morning temperatures will be in the teens but not nearly as windy tomorrow but still cold. what we've got going on is warmer air starting to invade from the south and west as our next storm approaches and that becomes the focus heading toward the weekend. with less wind tomorrow, though

randy: good morning. we're following breaking news overseas. emily: a group of american sailors remain captive in iran. the 10 sailors were expected to be released earlier this morning. right now an iranian official says the issue is being resolved. the navy sailors were taken into custody after a mechanical problem with the navigation system led their boat into iranian waters. u.s. leaders expect the sailors to be released at some point today. randy: a mtba police officer accused of an assault on a passenger as a red sox barry station heads to court. -- head as a roxberry station heads to court. she is charged with violating the person's civil rights and was captured beating the woman and using pepper spray. the american civil liberties union filed a lawsuit against her. new charges in a crash that killed a toll collector on the massachusetts turnpike.

police say the 61-year-old vasilios pappas was struck and killed by a speeding car despite the 15-mile-per-hour limit at that plaza. matthew mcavery is charged with negligent operation of after vehicle and motor vehicle lear homicide and will be arraigned next month. emily: a boston teen hit by a stray bullet inside his home is in critical condition. zak sideli in, ger was in his family's kitchen when a bullet came through the wall hitting in the back. the shot came from two passing cars and as of now there is no arrest. randy: two young boys have been released from the hospital after a new year's eve a.t.v. crash if fitsburg. the 7-year-old and 6-year-old boys were seriously hurt when two a.t.v.'s collided. "the fitchburg sentinel" reports one of the boys remains in the hospital but has been upgraded from critical to stable condition after losing his leg. firefighters continue to try

sewer in california. now they've spent more than 11 hours trying to free him from a 10-foot sewer line in oakland. the independent contractor became trapped yesterday after a trench collapsed. the man appears to be doing ok at this . emily: tough love for the celtics in new york who were down by as many as 14 points against the knicks but chipped away in the fourth getting it to within one point with under a minute to go. the knicks were on fire in that final quarter. they put it away with just seconds to play. 120-114 is the final. the celtics host the pacers tonight. randy: it was a dream come true for a canton high schooler taking the ice to a cheering crowd there. matty marcone loves hockey. emily: he does but a rare genetic disorder prevented him from playing competitively.

but last night did not let that stop him. he's been the team manager for four years, suiting up for the fourth time here against the knights. they got on the board first but when matty got in there, he delivered. >> means a lot for me. i like playing with them and working with them. reporter: it's a dream? >> oh, yeah. emily: a special moment. matty tells us he was happy to share his first goal with his teammates who always refer to him as the mayor. randy: mayor matty. cindy: finally we did it yesterday. we got our first official inch of snow in boston for the whole season and it is late. fourth latest on record. we have under an inch for the season and up over that inch mark. it's interesting when you look at all the late starts to the season, what we ended up with for the whole season, you see the amounts well below average.

it is just starting to kick on in. the snow is gone. the focus today becomes the wind, gusts up to 40 miles per hour, knocking back the wind chill and getting no higher than the single digits and teens. the next storm comes in saturday and looks like a messy mix of rain and snow. right now you see the snow exiting here in the outer cape of nantucket. clouds are breaking apart and we'll get back to sunshine but on the back side of this intensifying storm the wind is the big story, coming off the great lakes where the temperatures are colder than they are here. the temperatures won't change too much today. lots of 20's out the door this morning. look at worcester. you're near 20 out there right now. the temperatures really are not getting much higher today. you may dip down briefly this morning and hold pretty steady in the lower 20's this afternoon but forget what the thermometer says. the wind chill is the big story today and they'll get no higher than the single digits and teens out there but we'll see a good amount of sunshine today. a few clouds coming through overnight.
