randy: 10 american sailors released. emily: let' s erika tarantal she has new information and new images. erica the u.s. navy fleet in the : region has yet to confirm this but yes iranian state tv is reporting the sailors have been let go. newsroom of those sailors, being held overnight. after leaders in iran determined the entry into their waters was an accident saying the u.s. boats drifted due to a mechanical problem. secretary of state john kerry, s nuclear deal with iran, immediately called his counterpart at word of the incident. tensions with iran have been high despite diplomatic efforts. last month tehran carried out live fire exercises close to the air craft carrier harry s truman in the persian gulf. before that, u.s. officials claimed iranians targeted u.s. ships and aircraft with laser devices. again, the u.s. is working to confirm the 10 sailors have in fact been released. we' ll keep you posted. randy right now we are just : hours away from the biggest lottery drawing in u.s. history.

of raping them. this is a procedural session. cosby himself will not be in court. cosby is out on a million dollars bail after his arrest last month in pennsylvania on separate criminal charges he allegedly drugged and assaulted a woman. today state lawmakers will debate a bill to deal with massachusetts' growing opioid crisis. the plan would limit painkiller prescriptions to a seven day supply. it also outlines evaluation requirements for overdose victims who go to emergency rooms looking for help. the bill does not allow doctors to commit patients to involuntary drug treatment as outlined in governor baker' s proposal. his plan also called for limiting prescriptions to a three day supply. emily today president obama hits : the road to sell the optimistic plans outlined in his final state of the union address. speaking before a deeply divided congress, the president urged americans not to let fear dictate this election year. the president called on americans to stay the course with democrats. he took a swipe at some

boston. sky 5 over the scene at tremont and beacon streets yesterday. police say a driver was backing out from school street hit a pedestrian, then slammed into two cars, pushing one of them into a third car. a man driving one of the struck cars says it all happened very quickly. >> he was coming out of the street. he was coming at maybe 30 miles per hour. emily the pedestrian was not : badly hurt. randy new this morning, a new : report painting a grim picture of boston' s fire stations. the audit found several stations did not have working smoke detectors. or carbon monoxide detectors. the report calls for the replacement of dozens of aging fire trucks to bring them up to national standards. the city' s fire commissioner blamed lack of investment in the department for the issues. another massachusetts city, getting tough on tobacco use.

we were just under two inches in birmingham and norwood. now. that there may be a few slippery spots on the road. we have the winds now that are really ramping up. a wind advisory up to 5:00 p.m.. -- 5:00 p.m. springfield is coming up with a gust of 41 miles per hour. the wind will be active all day long. those are the temperatures, 25 in boston. it does not feel like it. when you factor in the wind, of are in the single digits. it feels like 11 in boston and four in the worcester area. temperatures will get no higher than the teens despite the fact that we will get sunshine today.

the flow of eric to the great lakes is pulling the temperature down. so, we hold of the 20' s to around 30 today. wind chills make it feel much colder. decent sunshine today. partly cloudy skies in the overnight hours. temperatures holding mainly in the teens. tomorrow we will be cold but we have more wind. so, as we get into tomorrow afternoon, still only 30 degrees. by friday afternoon we' ll hit 40 degrees. we focus the attention on an area of low pressure across the great lakes. this will throw a a lot of moisture in our direction friday night into saturday. we will have wind off the water bringing in warmer temperatures. we have some snow across northern new england, that we have a mixing of snow. limited cold air.

we have an accident on 93 south and it stays throw -- slow through the leverett connector. randy: right now police are searching for the truck driver accused of slamming into the back of a police cruiser then taking off. it happened on 89 in warner last night. police say the tractor trailer lost control hitting the cruiser, which had its lights on. the officer wasn' t seriously hurt. the driver initially pulled over sped off. emily economic headlines this : morning. optimism in overseas markets, as asian stocks rose this morning following improved export figures in china. shares regained lost ground at yesterday' s close on wall street. the dow jumped 117 points. right now, stock futures are higher. new evidence this morning that condo prices are soaring. the median price rose 10% last year. that is according to real estate

the average price is over $600,000. randy: a health alert surrounding potatoes. a new study suggests women planning to have a child should lay off of the starchy vegetable. researchers from harvard university and the national institute' s of health found that women who eat more potatoes before conceiving face a higher risk of developing gestational diabetes, while pregnant. that can affect both mother and child. scientists recommend swapping 2 servings per week with other vegetables. city leaders in worcester are considering raising the minimum age to buy tobacco products to 21. city councilors are now looking into the impacts on several other communities that have raised the age including boston and braintree. there is a statewide bill under consideration that would make 21 the legal age for buying all tobacco products. two boston police officers are being hailed as heroes this morning for saving the life of a

randy: breaking overnight, the u.s. confirms 10 u.s. navy sailors have been freed by iran. emily: the eye' s erika tarantal is tracking overnight developments erika: the u.s. military saying right now there are no indications the sailors were harmed during their detention. these pictures just in showing the 9 men and 1 woman being held overnight at an iranian base. their release coming after officials in iran determined the entry into their waters was an accident. iran' s navy chief admitted it was a mechanical problem that led the u.s. boats to drift. talks to free the sailors started immediately, secretary of state john kerry, who forged last summer' s nuclear deal with iran, calling his counterpart there. again the u.s. now confirming all 10 sailors have been safely released. the navy will investigate exactly what happened. they will be returned to their base. randy: -- emily: thank you. also breaking, one person has been detained in connection with a deadly suicide bombing in turkey' s capital. the woman was taken into custody after police raided a home in

their house was on fire. >> i did not know nothing. i was inside sleeping. thank god. god is so good. >> so were two complete strangers who we' re driving by the home at the time of the fire. they saw the flames and rushed inside alerting everyone of the danger. some residents said they did not even hear smoke alarms and had , those men not stopped, it could have been a lot worse. one fire fighter did suffer burns fighting the fire. he is expected to be ok -- ok. the cause of this fire is still under investigation. live, doug means, wcvb, newscenter 5. randy: right now, firefighters are trying to rescue a man trapped in a sewer in california. they' ve spent more than 11 hours trying to free him from a 10-foot sewer line in oakland. the independent contractor became trapped yesterday after a trench collapsed.

president obama: the fate of our union is strong. emily: president obama will hit the road today after delivering his final state of the union address. he' ll be selling his pitch to voters to replace him with a democrat who will continue his hard-won policies on health care, climate change and the nuclear deal with iran. the gop responded by repeating the party' s pledge to quote end -- " end a disastrous health care program, and replace it with reforms." randy: -- randy: attorney general loretta lynch will be in boston today to discuss president obama' s strategy on criminal justice reform. lynch will be at the suffolk county house of correction this afternoon. she' s expected to speak with local leaders and representatives of reentry groups for prisoners. emily: former president bill clinton making the rounds in new hampshire. this afternoon, he will be at events in keene, claremont and hanover. his granite state tour comes as polls show bernie sanders leading hillary clinton in new hampshire. and as republican frontrunner donald trump continues to raise

s infidelity. pennsylvania police say a 12-year-old girl was actually killed by local constable. police say the girl' s father pointed a gun at the constable, who was trying to serve an eviction notice. the officer opened fire, striking the man in the arm. the bullet went through the man and struck his daughter, who was standing behind him. that man is now behind bars on several charges. randy: so-called stolen valor is protected by the constitution. a federal appeals court ruled that wearing military medals you did not earn is part of free speech. the ruling came monday as judges overturned the 2007 stolen valor act conviction against a marine, who wore a purple heart he didn' t earn. the st. louis rams are moving to los angeles, possibly with some company. nfl owners voted yesterday to allow the rams to move to a new stadium just outside los angeles. and the san diego chargers have the option to share the facility. if the chargers decline, then the oakland raiders will be
