chandler jones in the hospital. the globe the first to report that it was a reaction to synthetic marijuana that caused jones' reaction. >> many questions about the police response remain. our team coverage begins with rhondella richardson live at foxborough tv. reporter: with the news it was a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana the police chief is not commenting. the town manager only putting out a statement saying all documents must be reviewed by the town attorneys before they comment. for neighbors in the area they are shocked that jones, who they consider a very private resident, is make such news. >> i'm not sure of the situation. reporter: the patriots defenseman had a medical emergency. he arrived at the police station down the street. there are no specifics on his condition but a neighbor says he wasn't dressed for the weather.

structure. but the company said it will not move. tax incentives from the city and at this time as well as selling their properties in connecticut and manhattan will pay for it. g.e. announcing they have picked boston over new york, providence and atlanta. it's the eighth largest company on for the church 500 list and it could move boston up another level on the world stage. wcvb, newscenter 5. >> a frantic search is under way for five people miss nag deadly avalanche. this happened in the french alps. three of the people are dead. two of them, french school children. heather with the latest. reporter: crews worked well into the night trying to find some sign that the five missing people were still alive. hundreds of searchers are fanned out across the area. they are looking for any signs of life in mountains of snow. the victims were part of a high school skiing group. searchers arrived to find four people in cardiac arrest, a teacher unconscious.

two students died. the avalanche happened on a trail that was closed to the public. a avalanche warning had been issued for the general area earlier in the week. j.c.? >> dorchester police have made an arrest in a deadly hit-and-run. sarah is live in dorchester with the breaking details. sarah? >> j.c., police have not released the name of the suspect but she's a 34-year-old woman from dorchester charged now with motor vehicle homicide. she's accused of hitting a man here on washington street and then driving off. surveillance video shows a vhs transportation van quickly driving away clipping the curb as it makes a right turn. it was around 8:00 this morning a man believed to be a construction worker was killed just outside a work site. >> somebody came to work early this morning just to die like this. >> soon after a similar van was

street with a cracked windshield and front end damage. police have not confirmed the van was involved but the owner of the surveillance video that shows the vehicle speeding off says investigators dubbed it -- >> the people have to be careful when they are crossing. >> the crash happened near the busy four corners of washington and bodden. one business owner says she was hit five years ago while walking in the crosswalk with her young son. >> just pull out. just like that i was rushing. >> several hours after this morning's crash two agents with osha were on the scene taking photos. a representative with the construction company would only say they are cooperating with authorities. reporter: osha says it was only here to determine whether or not this was a matter for the agency. the suspect, again, not identified, but a 34-year-old woman from dorchester, she'll be arraigned tomorrow. live in dorchester, sarah, wcvb, newscenter 5.

up. >> the trial of a boston teenager charged in a crash that left a young father paralyzed today. that accident happened on the way two years ago and kelly was inside the courtroom tonight. >> j.c., trial got under here at the district court more than a year after this young unanimous guilty plea. he's now 20, lives in west roxbury. negligent operation of a motor vehicle. it was september 2013 when police say he was driving on the arbor way at speeds up to 80 miles per hour. that's when his suv jumped the median and hit a pickup truck head on. the driver of the truck was kevin -- he was critically injured and is still hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury a. passenger in the truck told the jury today about

tomorrow night in south carolina, trump is warning his opponents as he's done in the past, if he's attacked, he'll hit back much harder. >> treacherous driving in the midwest after two rounds of snow whipped through. this is a 40 vehicle pileup in indiana right along the border in ohio. several tractor-trailers were involved, completely blocking the highway. six people were treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. obviously, the combination of low viblts and slick roads were just too much for many of those drivers to handle. >> this is our own little bit of snow. >> we d. we had some snow squalls. poor visibility and driving. i'll show was the amount of snow that he will. it's not an epic form

way above average because of all the warm weather. not warm now, though. still a little bit of daylight. temperature in boston is 26 degrees. it's cold. the wind is steady at 18. still gusty, not as powerful as earlier but still with temperatures in the upper teens to mid 20's. it's cold, wind chills are in the single digits and teens. another cold night. tomorrow will be also very cold but not quite as cold as today. breezy but not nearly as windy as today. so you will feel the difference. bigger difference on friday, because we'll have a slightly higher wind and the temperature will average pretty close to 40 for a high temperature on friday. so compared to the way it is out there now that will feel very nice indeed. a couple of other things, we have another area of snow that's cutting through the midwest. our air is very dry and our winds will stay out other west which is very dry. it's very hard to saturate the lower part of the atmosphere but nonetheless it's possible that we could get just a couple of

here's something i want to share with you. we're at the beginning of january. the hurricane season for this coming here, this year, 2016, begins on june 1. but, you know what? we already have our first named storm. that's right. in early january. unusual. its name is alex. it's way out there. you can see it near the azores. it will start to move northward. it won't hit there and it will become a nontropical type of storm but it's acquired tropical characteristics and that's kind of interesting just to note. let's get back to our local weather. clouds will begin by tomorrow morning and before tomorrow morning's commute is over anywhere from the berkshires into boston there, could be a few snow flurries. i do not expect there would be accumulating snow even if there are some snow flurries, but a couple are shown here in one of our computer model projections. clouds will be around at times on friday. i want

happen overnight friday night after midnight. this pink area that could be a touch of freezing drizzle that may break out in some areas which could make it slick on saturday but a storm from the south will give us more meaningful precipitation. especially saturday morning to about midday but it looks like most of us will be too warm to support snow. so it looks like it will be a chilly rain. windy on the coast, especially at the cape. now if the heavier precipitation gets to the higher terrain of worcester county or the berkshires, that's where there could be some wet snow with very borderline temperatures. right now, the odds favor rain over snow for most of our area with this but it's still a fairly close call, so we'll continue to monitor that carefully. the track of the storm is slightly uncertain as to just how close it comes to us. let's talk about tomorrow. maybe a flurry in the morning. high temperature should be around freezing. there is your milder day on friday with a high around 40. as i mentioned, it's that storm that comes up for late friday

throws the heaviest precipitation and wind, as rain, right along the coast and especially the cape. it should be dawn deal, however, by the time we get to the patriots game. that's good news. so the low will be about 32. wind gusty out of the north-northwest. i do believe that precipitation should be over. there is always a chance there could be a lingering snow flurry but for the most part it looks like the snowstorm at least will have ended by that time. i also want to mention there is a slight chance on sunday night of an additional storm. we'll talk about that possibility at 5:30 and the bitter cold that will be with us for early next week. >> country fans are so psyched to hear this news. the tour will take over foxborough on july 16. ticket sales dates have not been released just
