5:45 pm
a little bit of snowfall. one to three inches except right on the shoreline where it was less than one inch. how are we doing so far this season compared to last season? and the average and so on? boston had .3 of an inch of snow, which is actually brought it over a whopping one inch for the season. 1.2 inches. i think this may be about the third latest it's taken to get to an inch of snow, but last year at this time, it was still under five inches of snow. that's how we wound up. i'm not suggesting that will happen again. this particular winter season. the average would be 15.4. if you're closer to worcester and you're interested in those numbers, so far, 4.6. the airport picked up 2.9 out of the storm last evening. last year was almost 14 and the average would be about 24 by now. we have the cold, though, for now. teens and mid-20's around the region and the winds are gusty. they are not the damage winds
5:46 pm
earlier today. there were several reports of damage but they are still windy and it makes it cold. feel even colder when the temperature is already in the teens and low 20's which it will be for tomorrow. tomorrow's high temperature up just a couple of notches. the wind down some from today. so overall, a little bit easier to take. tomorrow night won't be as cold. the most comfortable day will be friday. because there won't be much wind at all and the temperatures will bounce up to about 40 degrees. that's going to be important in terms of setting us up for the next storm, which would be very late friday night and saturday morning. looks like how it will time out. that's not this area of snow. that may just cause us a few snow flurries tomorrow morning. if you see a little snow in the air don't be shocked. not expecting any accumulation or even flurries to be widespread. more sun tomorrow afternoon and some partial sun perhaps on friday. but the next storm begins either very late friday night or first thing saturday. coming up from the south. how much moisture we get will depend on how close the storm tracks.
5:47 pm
diversion in how that could go but it looks like we'll not have enough cold air around especially in the higher levels of the atmosphere as well as an ocean wind and the ocean is warm but maybe if we get heavier precipitation in the higher elevations that's the best chance of getting some snow out of that right now it looks like the trends are favorite. we should get the storm out of here before the patriots game, trending a little warmer which means mainly rain, some mixing in over the interior. let's check out the next seven days. >> just a flurry possible tomorrow morning and the milder weather on friday. i'm mentioning that the storms should be over in time for the patriots game. an estimated 32 degrees. still a bit breezy out of the northwest but it should be dry at that time. by the way, as you look at the five day, one other thing to keep in mind, it's a slight chance but sunday night there will be another storm out in the ocean, if it comes close enough we would get snow. otherwise, very cold air moves in for the first half of next
