day may day is when it sung in. >> reporter: 27-year-old danielle legrie was taking a flying lesson over l.a. when the mishap occurred. >> i heard like the engine kind of sputter. so i asked my instructor did you hear that? and he said did you touch the throttle and i said no, i didn't touch anything. >> reporter: just her good luck, danielle and her instructor had just been practicing what to do in the event of an emergency when the engine cut out. >> ironically we were simulating engine failure. >> reporter: so what did danielle do in her moment of crisis? >> i went to grab my cell phone because i wanted to text them to say that we wereclapping. crashed and her husband said what in the plane or the simulator? she writes we are on the freeway, i'm shaking. by the way danielle is a former lingerie model. today she's a full-time fitness instructor and a very lucky one at that.
