news in dorchester 6789. one person being treated for injuries. heather: it started over a parking spot. it happened on nightingale street. one person was shot and rushed to the hospital. the suspect and the victim were arguing over a parking space before that shooting. police say the victim was expected to survive. the suspect is still on the run. phil: and we are following breaking news in quincy. several people were hurt in an explosion at the nwra plant. heather:there was a fire in gas. john atwater is live at the scene for us. john? reporter: heather, this was an incredibly dangerous situation because the explosion happened ground. five workers went to the hospital after inhaling a a lot of smoke. firefighters raced to the waste water treatment plant before 1:00 this afternoon. black smoke was billowing from

workers were hurt in an explosion. >> they were down there working and, boom, there was some kind of explosion and a lot of smoke and they evacuated. >> they were seven to eight stories underground doing maintenance at the facility. they were able to run above ground to safety as firefighters suited up to go in. >> they shut the electricity off and they were down in the dark except for their portable lighting. >> neighbors saw the smoke pouring from the building for hours. officials say the five employees hillary cover. >> we are grateful our staff weren't more seriously injured. reporter: you can see in the distance a lot of firefighters are still here. not clear at the point of gases contributing to the explosions underground or some kind of mechanical failure. firefighters are here investigating. john atwater, wcvb, newscenter

phil: thanks. tonight police in everett are searching for suspects in an armed robbery at a convenience store there. pictures on your screen. one of the suspects hit the clerk in the head before taking off. heather:todd kazakiewich talked with investigators a short time ago. todd, what can you tell us? reporter: heather and phil, we talked with the mayor and the police chief and they said no arrests have been made, but both men are confident they will get justice for the clerk who was robbed and assaulted. surveillance video shows the clerk at work behind the counter when the suspects rush in. he puts up his hands to try to any closer. the suspect charges forward and demands money. look closely at the weapon in the suspect's right hand. >> it was believed to be later a replica handgun which we did recover. reporter: police are hoping someone recognizes the uncovered face of the suspect.

1:00 on monday near broadway and everett. look again at the camera angle. during the attack a customer stands at the counter and no doubt startled by the sudden and armed robbery. the suspects take off with an unannounced amount of cash after assaulting the clerk and leaving him bleeding heavily. >> the clerk at the store suffered a head wound in a struggle with one of the suspects. reporter: again this armed robbery happened just up the street from city hall. right now. at 6:00 we'll tell you what the mayor has to say. you'll hear about the changes he says could help to prevent clerks from becoming victims from robbery and assault. todd kazakiewich, wcvb newscenter 5. phil: harvey joins us now. harvey, milder temperatures are moving in. harvey: yes, tomorrow you will notice a real difference, phil. right now it is in the 30s and just about all of us should make it into the 40s tomorrow. that will be pretty nice after

snow most of us saw, at least to different degrees over the weekend. look at the wind though. they are very light. it makes the 30s not too difficult to take. the winds will stay light. notice we will be in and out of clouds especially thickening later tonight. in spite of that a mild southwesterly wind will help us warm into the 40s. and it will be a pretty mild launching pad considering we are right in the heart of winter. temperatures will be around the freezing mark very early and down near the south coast they will be milder than that. we'll go over how mild it will be and the changes that will follow in temperature and any storm potentials for late week coming up in a little while. heather:a man is accused of shooting at a local plow driver. rhondella richardson is live in plymouth. rhondella? reporter: the accused called the private contractor driving the plow distracting because a bright light, slow moving, didn't have the blade down to

in his firing of the handgun. bruce o'brian is accused of firing his licensed hand gun three times in a saturday road rage incident with a snowplow. >> they were stuck behind a snowplow truck. the truck was swerving and after passing the plow truck she stated he points the gun out his window and fires. reporter: o'brian's wife in the passenger street as they travel on rocky hill road tells police upset the plow hit them and fired three shots into the ground. police charged the man with assault with a deadly weapon. they say they were just warning shots. >> the shots were fired out of the driver's side window. >> after the suv passed the plow , the driver of the car then heard three pops they believe to be gunshots. reporter: they had dinner and drinks on the plymouth water front and returning to their rental found themselves bow hind a care -- caravan of

they call the driving erratic. he tried to pass the plow and then brandished a happened gun and accusing the driver of nearly veering into his jeep when he passed. he is charged with discharging a firearm under the influence. police say he was not drunk. >> great guy. never in trouble before. >> is he a responsible gun owner? >> does he regret what he has done. >> folks, please. reporter: he must surrender all weapons to police pending the outcome of the case and posted the $2500 bail. rhondella richardson, wcvb newscenter 5. phil: one of the patriot practice squad players is under arrest for assault. he allegedly assaulted a man and two women early on saturday morning at a foxborough bar. witnesses say he grabbed the two women and punched one of the women's boyfriends. wharton said he accidentally brushed up against the women and then punched the man in self-defense.

only missing by an inch. jfk was right around 30 inches as was newark, new jersey. we are seeing some clouds and pretty skies. always encouraging. 33 degrees is is the temperature in boston. seven miles an hour off the water. here you can see some clouds that are advancing in our direction and we will have clouds around. that will help prevent the temperature from bottoming out too low. we are in the 30s right now. so figure that it will be with a light wind the clouds still thin enough. we'll level off about 32 degrees. we boost into the 40s and the help of a southwesterly wind and the winds will be up a little tomorrow, but so will be the temperature. it is an offset. we'll have some clouds around at times tonight and tomorrow. and there might even be a
