building to get at the riders trapped in that bus. it happened around 7:15 in the evening, the rhode island public transit bus, hittting the side of the building so hard, the front of the bus caved in on itself. >> nothing was on the bus. it' s worth right over into the front of the building. jorge: the bus hit a utility pole and then swerved across traffic. he lifted the building' s roof, a former gas station. none of the employees were hurt. >> she is in shock. being a nurse, she was going to get out. the other nurse was running towards it.

emergency crews were able pull them out and take them to threatening injuries. the bus was eventually towed out building roof to collapse. >> she wanted to let me know that she was ok. jorge: amazingly enough, the fire chief confirming all the injuries are non life threatening this investigation in its initial stages, the driver we are told has been with the company 30 years. officials looking at a possible medical episode. ed: also breaking tonight, flames are still burning inside a quincy water treatment plant. it has been going on for hours. t get it out. s john atwater is s such a difficult fight. reporter: it has been so tough underground.

firefighters are planning on being here all night. thick, black smoke billowed from the building around 6:00 tonight. 397 53:41 nats fire truck turning five hours after the fire first started. >> it is a stubborn situation. reporter: those flames have been so hard to control because they are burning 100 feet below ground inside of a massive duct system. >> we have had to pump the water out. it has been a massive challenge. >> we are looking up mostly insulation that is inside it. it is a contained area. reporter: it' s not clear what triggered the blast, but the mwra says one worker believes it may have been connected to a fan they started while doing routine maintenance on an odor control system. >> we can' t get in to see if it' s isolated to one area or more expansive. we don' t know.

that system will all be spending the night in the hospital where they' re being treated for smoke inhalation. even though the fire continues to burn tonight, wastewater treatment has not been disrupted . it has all been diverted across the bay. ed: sky 5 over the scene in dorchester, where police say a fight over a parking spot ended with gunfire. it happened at mid-afternoon on nightingale street, at a parking spot that had been shoveled out. neighbors heard an argument, and then, shooting. >> he was laying on the floor and then trying to stand up. the police came very fast. ed: the victim was taken to a hospital, he will survive. police say they know who the shooter is, it' s just a question of finding him now. heather: looking live over boston, it is below freezing around the area tonight.

compared to last week, we are handling it pretty well. we bush are you the interesting thing about the snow depth. yeah, there is snow on the ground in boston. there is a foot on the ground in philadelphia. there is over two feet in new york and washington dc. that has washington, philly, new york, all well above us. even roanoke, virginia is above us. last year, record-breaking snowfall in the winter. at this point last winter, 10.6 inches and we are almost identical to that right now. everything is going to start changing tomorrow. it was a year ago tomorrow that the first of the big four storms walloped the region. we will follow it for you as we
