randy: right now two violent scenes are under investigation in norton. one woman is dead. another seriously injured after simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. and we are getting new information about how all of this happened. erika: the eyeopener' s pam cross is in norton with what we know at this hour. pam? pam: we know that it all started here on holmes street. that' s where police say 35-year-old martin mcdonald killed his estranged wife. 34-year-old julie meede was found in this home last night after a 911 call. she had stab wounds. meede was rushed to sturdy be saved. about a minute after the panicked call from that home head-on crash not far away on that' mcdonald' s car crossed the median and hit another car driven by a rhode island woman. that woman is now in the

mcdonald was pulled from the crash scene and arrested on murder charges. he' s due in court later this morning. google bring you the latest information as soon as we have it. reporting live, i am pam cross, newscenter 5. erika: right now police in brookline are pouring over a major clue as they try to piece together two bloody crime scenes. the eyeopener' s antoinette antonio is in brookline this morning with that discovery and how it could help crack this case. antoinette: we are at one of the to scenes. this is on harvard street. that discovery you talked about is the car that is at the center of this bizarre and violent crime. it is a white ford focus with new york plates. police found the car abandoned in boston. it had allegedly been stolen from a home in cambridge. all of this started on st. paul street wednesday with a shooting. one man was found wounded there. a short time later police say

s school on harvard street tossing two more wounded men right out the door. two suspects took off one in the car and one on foot. they' re still on the run this morning. as for the three victims, they are all expected to survive. police say everyone involved knows each other this wasn' t random. but still a lot questions to be answered this morning. we will be sure to keep you posted. we are live in brookline, angela antonio, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: there is a deal to end the fight over a proposed casino in everett. and it could be a jackpot for boston taxpayers. the city of boston will drop all efforts to kill the wynn casino in everett. boston is concerned over the impact the casino will have on traffic especially in sullivan square.

city $2 million in compensation for the next 15 years. $25 million will go toward infrastructure upgrades in sullivan square. wynn will aim to spend $20 million a year doing business with boston companies. the casino is scheduled to open in 2 years. erika: new this morning a new report is recommending new training for administrators after an incident involving racially-charged text messages at lowell high school. the messages surfaced after the election of an african american student as class president. six students were suspended. but there were questions after one of those students was allowed to run in a sporting event just a day later. the lowell sun reports 16 pages of the task force report on the incident were not made public including names of staff members who responded. erika: also new this thursday some students are calling boston latin school an unsafe environment and demanding more action on the use of racial slurs. two senior students met with mayor marty walsh yesterday about what they called bullying and harassment at the prestigious school.

trump tells fox news he won' t be attending their debate. trump says he' s unhappy with the way fox news has treated him, and questions from moderator megyn kelley. he' ll hold a separate event in iowa instead. the debate starts at 9:00. randy: new overnight, three more arrests have been made in the armed standoff at a federal wildlife reserve in oregon. the three suspects surrendered overnight. that' s after ammon bundy, the leader of the group who was arrested tuesday, called for his supporters to stand down. the group was protesting after two local ranchers were sent to prison for setting fires on local lands. erika: a garbage truck explodes in new jersey. four homes are damaged after the blast yesterday. the driver of the truck ran when he saw smoke in the cab. flames ate through the natural gas tanks, causing the eruption. investigators are looking into exactly how the flames started. randy: new criticism facing the wounded warrior project. a charity watchdog is raising questions about how much money

on veterans. wounded warrior project says 80% of the money raised is spent on programs for vets. but a watchdog believes that number is actually closer to 60%. erika: an australian teenager facing terrorism charges, accused of plotting an attack using a kangaroo. investigators say the 19-year-old and a british accomplice were planning to pack a kangaroo with explosives, before setting the animal loose on police officers. police say the teens were isis-inspired, and were planning to carry the attack out during a veterans' day ceremony. randy: cancer centers are urging more widespread vaccination against hpv, or human papilloma-virus. top cancer centers say the potential spread of hpv can become a public health threat. the centers for disease control estimates 79 million americans are infected with the sexually transmitted virus, which can cause deadly cancers. health officials urge parents to get both sons and daughters
