good morning, i' m erika tarantal. erika: and i' m randy price with cindy fitzgibbon. it will not feel like the last weekend of january. mild temperatures in the forecast at or above freezing. boston jumps up to 35 degrees. ratings in the lower 30' s on the north shore and beverly. in worcester county, it is a little colder, upper 20' s out this way. you can see the radar this morning focusing all of the action offshore. the outer edge of this rained -- shield flirting with outer contact it. -- contacted -- nantucket. it is a big one heading out to sea. a cloud shield out west associated with that ocean storm or to we have a cold front approaching from the west that will push forward this afternoon.

randy: we are following breaking news right now in groton. erika: a tragic ending as firefighters battle flames at a home overnight. randy: let' s get right to the eyeopener' s frank holland he just talked to the fire chief. frank: i talked to the fire chief a few minutes ago. he told me two people died in the fire wet with what he called bad moving flames. the fire started overnight but as you can see behind me, the investigation is still ongoing. the groton fire department, the fire marshal, and the police department are all here on the scene. they are try to figure out if anyone else was inside and because of this fatal fire. the fire started on wiley the road around 11:30 last night. the intensity of the flames and smoke and damage to the home made it very tough for firefighters to get inside of this house. the chief says when crews arrived, the fire was burning out of control.

because it was at an advanced stage. we had fire coming out of every window on the front side of the house. there were extensive fire conditions on our arrival. frank: we know it was two adults killed in a fire but the fire chief not releasing any more information because he says their families have not been notified. we will continue to update you on this breaking story all morning long on air come online, and on our mobile out. randy: right now we are getting new video of the deadly confrontation that ended a standoff in oregon. this video has been released by the fbi in the aftermath of the protest at a federal wildlife refuge. it was later discovered that this rancher is armed as he reaches twice inside this jacket either a fbi agent or a state police officer responded with fire. we' re freezing the video because of the graphic nature of what happens. this came after this group of protesters had been running from officers and agents.

cases. randy: knew this morning, former attorney general martha coakley may be up for a new job. according to published reports, coakley has been approached to be the next president of suffolk university. the globe reports the current president who has butted heads with the school' s board of trustees has been asked to resign. but margaret mckenna denies reports that she' s being forced out. no comment from coakley who has been serving as a legal analyst for newscenter 5. randy: an original member of the died. he helped found the 1960' s band, which soared to fame with hits like somebody to love. kantner eventually went on to front the band jefferson he died in san francisco yesterday after getting sick earlier in the week. a store closed for years, is trying to make a comeback. erika: the business, attempting to get back in the tech game. a new hampshire man, facing weapons charges.

we are so close to a storm passing by the ocean. this is the western edge of the moisture that may flirt with the outer edge of nantucket. the bulk of it is staying offshore. this will slam nova scotia with some snow as it races northern eastward. we are also focusing on a cold front to the west. this has a lot of energy with it, but it doesn' t have a lot of moisture. it is producing some snow showers and as that punches eastward throughout the day, we will be on guard for snow showers developing. clouds today, temperature study, mid and upper 30' s north and west of town. lower 40' s in southeastern massachusetts where there is a risk of showers this morning. i think we are missing out on the bulk of that. through noontime, we wash out as the cold front bushes on through this afternoon. it or miss snow showers this afternoon. into this evening around 9:00 or so. thereafter, clouds break, we clear overnight. temperatures in the 20' s to around 30 degrees. it is a sunny start to saturday.

once you get past that accident, 15 minutes on the expressway, braintree into boston. 93 cell, some delays south of 495 and once again, as you approach southbound to the leverett connector, trains doing ok. randy: right now a brentwood, nh man is facing serious weapons charges, after the fbi raided his home. the u.s. attorney' s office says agents were tipped off last summer when 52-year-old daniel musso went to a firearms dealer, looking to buy thousands of dollars worth of weapons. musso, a gun advocate, is well known to police, arrested 3 years ago after a physical confrontation in concord, new hampshire. police say last week, he told an undercover agent he was part of a group that needed the weapons to, "bring forth the original constitution. erika: your economy headlines this friday. asian markets gaining overnight as the bank of japan introduces an interest rate policy to help stimulate the economy. stocks were higher yesterday the

stock futures are up right now. circuit city is trying to make a comeback. the national chain announcing plans to open 50 to 100 stores by next year. circuit city went out of business in 2009. the two men who bought the rights to the company, are now planning to open stores to sell tablets, headphones, drones and other electronics, including the company' s own inexpensive brand. randy: dozens of aviation engineers working for general electric in lynn are being laid off. the company saying g.e. aviation' development is changing and the t maintain the number of engineers currently employed across the country. the decision comes two weeks after g.e. announced it would move its global headquarters to boston. erika: no one wants to get their day off to a bad start. randy: but there are are some morning mistakes that can really

rally in nashua, new hampshire. massachusetts gets its first can -- case of the zika virus. randy: a message from health experts this morning. kelley: it is certainly a concern for travelers. that confirmed case is a boston man who became infected outside the u.s. as we have been reporting, the concern is for women. birth the facts tie to mosquito-borne virus is our complicating plans. health officials warn expectant mothers to avoid trips to latin america and the caribbean, where the virus is spreading explosively. cristina brinkerhoff of braintree says she is making a sacrifice for her baby' s safety, cancelling a trip home to brazil to visit family. there is no vaccine and no treatment for zika virus.

band jefferson airplane has died. paul kantner was 74. he helped found the 1960' s band, which soared to fame with hits like somebody to love. kantner eventually went on to front the band jefferson starship. he died in san francisco yesterday after getting sick earlier in the week. randy: another concert you may want to add to the summer concert list. coldplay will pick up over gillette stadium july 30. the two are is the band' in four years. tickets go on sale to the february 5. this spring. the iconic doll will soon be available in different shapes, sizes, and skin tones. they announced yesterday that new barbie dolls will now be made in curvy, tall, or petite. the doll will come in seven skin hairstyles. a lot of options.
